As a visual artist, I am socially engaged working along with the community at different spaces both public and private. As a social engaged artist, I developed in 2013 two main art projects as part of my body of work: “Urban Community Performance Symbology of Interculturalism” and “Urban Performance Art Only for Dyslexics” with which I was able to join the International Visual Sociology Association, IVSA and get my work featured on IVSA’s website. Both projects fall in the category of art based research. I have also curated the projects. Currently I have a new art based research project called “Multiliteracies in Hispanic Children in Queens, New York”. The first session that I did within this new art project was in the space Corona Plaza supported by the Queens Museum this past September 2015.
