Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff Carl Ramsey Head Coach Carl Ramsey is in his sixth season as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of the Ozarks. Ramsey has guided three of his teams to the post-season and has coached four players on the prestigious Academic All-District Team during his tenure. Ramsey turned a struggling program into a contender in just his second year at Ozarks. Ramsey’s team qualified for the playoffs and posted the program’s first winning record in nearly a decade in year two, orchestrating a seven-game improvement from the previous season. For his accomplishments, Ramsey was voted the American Southwest Conference East Division Coach of the Year. His ability to turn the program around so quickly earned him the reputation as one of the premier strategists in the conference. Since his arrival at Ozarks, his teams have consistently been among the top three-point shooting teams in the conference and in NCAA Division III. He has had a combined 14 players earn AllConference honors and five earn All-Freshmen Team honors the past five years. 31 of his players have been on the ASC All-Academic Team during his tenure. One player was named a national Academic All-American following the 2011-12 season. Another player was named the ASC East Division Preseason Player of the Year. Ramsey made the jump to his alma mater after building one of the top high school girl’s basketball programs in Arkansas. In 29 years at Lamar High School (Ark.), Ramsey posted a 660-227 (.744) overall record and led the program to eight state tournament appearances, including winning state titles in 1988 and 1991. At Lamar, he was voted the Conference Coach of the Year 10 times and was a fivetime KARV Dream Team Coach of the Year honoree. Ramsey received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Ozarks in 1979. Ramsey and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of one son and one daughter.

Kourtni Williams Assistant Coach Kourtni Williams enters her first season as the assistant coach after a four-year standout playing career. Williams, a native of Fayetteville, Ark., played at NAIA Mid-America Christian University (MACU) in Oklahoma City from 2011-2013 where she earned All-America honors her senior season. Following the 2012-13 season, Williams earned NAIA All-America, NCCAA All-America and All-Conference honors for MACU. Additionally, she was named to the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete Team and Sooner Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. Williams, who averaged 17.2 points per game her senior campaign, was also team captain and helped the Evangels to its first-ever national ranking. Prior to MACU, Williams played two seasons at NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. Williams has done volunteer work for the Boys and Girls Club, Yvonne Richardson Community Center, Oklahoma Food Bank and Bolivar Intermediate School. Williams graduated from MACU in 2013 with a degree in marketing.

Women’s Basketball 2014-2015 Outlook RAMSEY AIMS FOR ANOTHER PLAYOFF RUN Behind the momentum of another playoff season, U of O head women’s basketball coach Carl Ramsey and his Lady Eagles are aiming for their second straight post-season appearance thanks to three returning starters and a solid incoming freshmen class. Under Ramsey, the Lady Eagles have been regulars in the post-season. The veteran coach has led his team to the American Southwest Conference Tournament three of the last four years. Last season, the Lady Eagles finished with a 10-16 overall record and a 9-13 mark in the ASC. “We have made the playoffs three of the past four years,” said Ramsey. “Our goal is to get in the playoffs and then advance past that first round. I think it is time to win in the playoffs. We can’t lose sight of how we want to get there. If we improve every day, making the playoffs will take care of itself.” The returning trio of starters - senior guard Jordana Andrews, senior forward Taylor Farmer and junior guard Ashley Hipps - will be counted upon to provide the bulk of the load. Sophomore forward Bryanna Moltz played in all 26 games last season and is expected to make a heavy contribution again. Farmer is coming off an All-Conference junior season in which she averaged 14.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The 6-foot Farmer also averaged nearly two blocks and two steals per game. Farmer, who reached double figures in scoring 23 times, finished eighth in the conference in field goal percentage (51%). “Taylor has worked hard,” he said. “I think she is playing more fundamentally sound. She is a versatile player. She can run the floor and score in space.” The talented Andrews proved to be a three-point threat, hitting 34-of-106 (32%) a year ago. She ended the season averaging 8.2 points and 2.7 assists per game. Hipps averaged 9.5 points and 3.3 assists per game in 2013-2014. She, too, hit 32 percent from the three-point line, while leading the team in assists (87). “Jordana does things the right way,” he said. “She is a leader on and off the court. Ashley does a great job running the offense. I think she will have an outstanding year.” Moltz provides matchup problems with her 6-foot2 frame and ability to shoot from beyond the arc. Moltz scored nearly 5.0 points per game last season. “Bryanna is more of a slasher,” he said. “She can step out and hit the three-pointer. She is not necessarily a back to the basket type player, but rather someone that can shoot from outside. That is more of her game.”

#11 Jordana Andrews Senior Annabel Fidler and junior Libby Nepivoda will provide more experience on the perimeter for Ramsey. A number of freshmen will play key roles as well. “Annabel has worked hard and will see playing time,” said Ramsey. “It is a credit to her. And we feel good about our freshmen class when they can get on the court. We’ve already had a tremendous amount of injuries.” With a veteran team that has experienced postseason first hand, Ramsey believes the team’s experience along with the team’s chemistry can push Ozarks to success. “One of our strengths is team chemistry,” he said. “It is a group that doesn’t care who gets the credit. We may not as big or fast as some of our opponents, but we will play as a team and play hard. I think we will compete and challenge for a playoff spot. I think our kids have risen to the challenge in the past and this year should be no different. This group uses grit and they understand the grind of college basketball.”

Women’s Basketball American Southwest Conference The American Southwest Conference, one of the largest intercollegiate athletic conferences in NCAA Division III, is in its second decade of providing quality athletic experiences for its student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Founded in May 1996 to provide a structure for intercollegiate athletics among member institutions, the American Southwest Conference includes former members of the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association (TIAA) and other institutions from outside the Texas borders. From the eight founding institutions to today’s present group of 12 college and universities, the ASC encompasses institutions sharing similar educational and athletic philosophies. The roster of American Southwest Conference members includes Concordia University Texas, East Texas Baptist University, Hardin-Simmons University, Howard Payne University, LeTourneau University, Louisiana College, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, McMurry University, University of the Ozarks, Sul Ross State University, University of Texas at Dallas and University of Texas at Tyler. ASC championships are conducted in 16 sports (8 men, 8 women). Men’s championships are offered in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis and track and field.
