Platelets are necessary for wound healing because they provide hemostasis, inflammatory modulators and a variety of growth factors—all necessary components for tissue synthesis and repair. A New Home F
By Sarah Williamson
or more than seven decades Forsyth Humane Society (FHS) has advocated for the compassionate treatment of unwanted and neglected dogs and cats, and served as our community’s resource for humane education. We are committed to this mission because we know animal companionship enriches peoples’ lives, builds character, teaches compassion, and positively impacts our community’s vitality. At Forsyth Humane Society we rejoice every time one of our dogs or cats finds a new home. Now we are celebrating our organization’s new home! FHS is the proud new owner of 4881 Country Club Road, a 2.5 acre property with ample parking and the opportunity to create a green “backyard” for our people and our dogs. In our new home we look forward to increasing the number of animals we nurture and find loving homes for, and creating a comfortable working space for our staff and our hundreds of volunteers. For our community this move means the expansion of programming to include obedience training for dogs, birthday parties, school field trips, lectures on animal welfare topics, community events, and additional youth activities. FHS will be accessible and safer for our animals, potential adopters, donors, volunteers, and staff. And our staff will be able to operate under one roof, increasing communication and efficiency. Young artists from Brunson, Summit, and South Fork Elementary Schools helped us dream of a happy new home for our animals. The Stevie, 1 year old creativity of their dreams inspires us as we design and plan for our new, expanded Adoption and Education Center. While we are wellknown by the community as an adoption center, homing over 700 dogs and cats annually, we do so much more. We work to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs through awareness, education, and

Abner, 2 months old community involvement. FHS’s spay/neuter activities currently prevent a minimum of 5,000 puppies and kittens from joining the homeless pet population each year. We educate about pet responsibility and the benefits of animal companionship. Being responsible includes keeping your pet safe, the community safe, yourself safe, and other animals safe. We have speakers available to speak on a variety of topics with community groups. FHS works with children both in and out of the classroom, and through Critter Camp over the summer. We visit retirement facilities, nursing homes, and college campuses to provide pet therapy. We also partner with The Forsyth Correctional Center’s A New Leash on Life program so inmates can experience the unconditional and healing love of a dog, while training the dogs for their forever-homes. Our Regional Outreach Vehicle for Education and Rescue (ROVER) participates in over 50 community events annually to promote responsible pet care. We partner with agencies such as The Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC, Senior Services’ Meals-on-Wheels program, UNchain Winston, Forsyth County Animal Control, and other rescue groups to ensure pets are able to stay with their families. To support these families we distribute donated pet food, collars, bowls, doghouses, and build fences to unchain dogs. We have been operating these programs from a facility of less than 1,800 square feet, overcoming challenges such as inadequate space for our animals and staff, and limited parking for volunteers, donors, and adopters. This opportunity to expand our reach and strengthen our mission is real and a larger facility will make a significant difference.
This beautiful building below is one possible concept for our future home.
While it does not have the steaks, treadmill, pools, and other features the children dreamed up, it will be a more enriching home for our animals, and we cannot wait to welcome our community into our new home mid-2016. Anticipatory Grief May Be Robbing You of the Precious Time You Have Left What is Anticipatory Grief? It is the grief and mourning that occur when we become aware death may occur. It begins with the onset of the ‘evening’ of life, with a terminal diagnosis, or sooner for some of us. For me, it begins the moment I fall in love with one of my Fur-People. As pet lovers, we all know that we are likely to outlive our animals and we enter in to the Human-Animal Bond with the knowledge our hearts will one day be broken by it. Anyone suffering the loss of a pet can tell you it can be traumatic, anyone daring to do it again may tell you it was even worse the second time around. “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Roosevelt said it first, but Kennedy made it look good, some 40 years later. Grief is cumulative, and when we aren’t able to grieve a loss properly, all subsequent losses feel like salt in the wound from the first. I personally sought the help of a grief recovery specialist, Ellie McFalls, after the loss of my second greyhound. If interested, Ellie can be reached at 336-362-4170. Anticipatory Grief can start as soon as we know death is on the horizon. In advance of death, we grieve the loss of the pet we once knew, whether they used to love to play frisbee and no longer can, or if there is dementia and they don’t seem like themselves. Anticipatory Grief is not just about accepting a future death, but the many losses that occur in our loved ones as their illness progresses. It is harmful, because it keeps us in a heightened state of awareness. I like to think of it as ‘the other shoe’ that you know is going to drop at any moment. We panic and read so much into every detail of our pet’s condition and our anxiety is through the roof whenever we hear them sneeze. It’s painful to watch our fur-people deteriorate, and what we do to ourselves can be even more painful.
Some things you can do for yourself when experiencing Anticipatory Grief: - Remember that it is normal to feel this way. There’s nothing wrong with you, you are allowed to have Anticipatory Grief; it is quite common and you are not alone. - Acknowledge your losses. People will say unhelpful things when they don’t understand, like, “well at least you still have two other dogs.” They are trying to help, in their own way. Allow yourself to be present with the feelings you have.
-Connect with others in similar situations. There are a few pet loss support groups in the area, many are attended by those with Anticipatory Grief. It helps to talk it through. - Reflect on the time you have left. Think about how your fabulous friend would like to spend it. I’ll give you a personal example. When my second greyhound, Bosley, was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma in his upper soft palate, nothing could be done to treat him. Knowing his upcoming birthday would be his last, I threw him a big party. Invited all of his friends, two and four legged, and made him a special cake. We had a blast. Now, in his memory, I make the special cake, “Bosley’s Hippo Birdie Cake” (Hippo Birdie is code for Happy Birthday) and I take it to events with me, handing out slices with the recipe. Your pet may love the beach- try to fit in one last special trip. Make their last days as special as you can. - Take care of yourself. The situation you are in as a caregiver can be mentally and physically exhausting. Ask for help. - Seek counseling if you need it. There’s no shame in talking through this difficult time with a professional. - Finally, have a plan in place. Churchill once said, “It’s not the plan, it’s the planning that is important.” Talk to your family about your pet’s quality of life. Determine the things that define it and decide what will have to happen so that you know “it’s time”. One good place to start is with our Pet Hospice Journal. It’s free at: www.pethospicejournal.com, or you can call Lap Of Love to help you with a quality of life assessment.

Honey is a gorgeous 6 year old Lab/ Boxer mix. She loves walks and being close to her people. Honey is house-trained and does fine with other calm dogs. Honey has seen a lot of sadness in her short life. She lived outside her whole life, and then was left at a shelter for no reason. She is a little shy at first, understandably, but she turns into the sweetest companion after a short while. For information call 336-438-2023 or email hsac@netpath.net. n
Bella
the Corgi mix is about 5 years old. She is as sweet as she is cute! Bella enjoys the company of people and other animals. She is housetrained and walks great on a leash. Bella is about 15 pounds and would make a great best friend! For more information call 336-438-2023 or you can email hsac@netpath.net. n
Halo
the 6 month Terrier mix is recovering from injuries she sustained after being pulled behind a vehicle (twice)! She is healing VERY well, and she’s almost good as new! Halo is extremely smart and loves to learn. She will do just about anything for a treat or a toy. Halo does well with other dogs, and is learning to ignore her Terrier instinct to chase kitties and small dogs. Halo needs a lot of exercise- she would love a hiking buddy. She’s come a long way and anyone would be lucky to adopt this precious girl! For information call 336-438-2023 or email hsac@netpath.net. n

Lexi
is a small Terrier mix, weighing about 15 pounds. She loves people and other animals! She is a young adult, and is house-trained too. Lexi enjoys walks and being outdoors. She likes to dance and play in the sun! This little girl is a total sweetie! For information call 336-438-2023 or email hsac@netpath.net. n
Jagger
the Boxer mix is almost a year old. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash. Jagger was abandoned at a young age, and had some hurdles to overcome. He still becomes frightened around strangers, but he warms up quickly. Jagger will definitely need another canine companion in his forever home, as he takes a lot of social cues from other dogs, and he feels more comfortable when another dog is around. This little guy makes a great cuddle buddy! For information call 336-438-2023 or email hsac@netpath.net. n
Alice
the 5 year old Siamese mix is absolutely beautiful and as sweet as honey. She is independent and would be OK with or without other animals. Once Alice feels comfortable with you, she loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch for a snuggle session. Alice is litter-trained and very polite! Adopt this gorgeous girl. Chelsea
Teddy.
came into ARFP as a puppy that was on the verge of Parvo. She had a mild case, pulled through it like a champ, and is now healthy as an ox. She was born in late April of 2014 and is just a fun girl to be around. She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix. Chelsea needs a home that is structured and can commit to exercising her. She loves walks and lives with her trainer so she is well trained for that. Chelsea is cratetrained (loves her crate) and we would like for someone to continue using the crate with her since she is still a puppy. She is a joy to be around and will make someone a great family pet.
Cute, snuggly and all characteristics of a teddy bear... this is our “Teddy”. He is a loving, sweet kitten that loves to be rubbed, petted and cuddled. After his morning romp and roll with his sister (Mandy), Teddy will cuddle up on his foster mom’s lap. Teddy gets along great with all other 4-legged animals, especially his foster mom’s little dog. Born mid August 2014, Teddy is enjoying the daily servings of his favorite kibble and the endless toys that get tossed his way. Are you looking for a snuggle buddy to add to your home? Then Teddy is your boy!

Charlie is neutered and up-to-date on shots and hoping that his forever home comes for him soon.
First there was Coupon, then there was Bogo. Bogo is a precious little boy with a precious little personality. He is a sweetheart and never causes a ruckus among his playmates. Jack is a miniature donkey who came to us intact but has now been gelded. He is sweet as can be to people but is quite aggressive to other animals. He might be fine with a larger horse who would teach him some manners now that he has been gelded. We will keep our website updated as we get to know Jack better. If you are interested in adopting Jack please fill out an adoption application at www.reddogfarm.com. n

Niblet & Baby Boy came to us a year ago when their owner could no longer care for them. They were very shy and distrustful when they first arrived. They have since been gelded and given lots of love. Niblet will now eat treats from our hands, but Baby Boy is still extremely wary of people. He will come in the stall with us while we clean it, but if we try and pet him he darts away. These sweet brothers have had very little human interaction prior to coming to us and just need a lot of love, patience and treats. They do not have a mean bone in their bodies and have never offered to bite or kick, they just run away if they are frightened. Please visit our website at www.reddogfarm.com if you would like to give these sweet boys the forever home that they are looking for. n
Austin
was abandoned by his owners because they deemed him to be “mean.” They did not understand that keeping an intact male goat by himself is unfair and causes him to want to headbutt people. He has now been castrated and is in a foster home with other goats. His foster family reports that he is sweet as can be, happy to eat out of your hand and loves to be petted.
has been a traveling man most of his life but he was not a stray. He spent the first couple of years traveling the highways with his former owner. Needless to say he is quite comfortable in the car. However, his first relationship ended and left him looking for a new place to call home. A very kind lady took him in but he spent most of his time outside with the other dog. When the lady came down with cancer again, she reached to rescues for help. Austin LOVES men, especially his foster dad. He is up-to-date on shots, vaccinated, and microchipped. Austin would do best with an experienced owner as he prefers confident individuals.

Khajiit
is a beautiful and very affectionate female Bengal-like adult. She is declawed and was found hanging out in the road near her foster mom’s home. She was presumably dropped off because she was sick, but has been nursed back to health. She lives in a multi-cat home and does fine with the other cats, and she also loves dogs. Khajiit is about six years old, and is spayed and will soon be receiving the final shot she needs to be current on vaccinations. For questions on the adoption procedure, please check out AARF’s website at www.aarfanimals.org or call 336-768-PETS (7387). n
Ringo.
My name is Ringo! I’m a super handsome, incredibly charming 2 year old male who has been fully vetted, and now I just need a wonderful home! I wish I could tell you my story, but all the lady who saved me knows is that I was sitting by the side of a very busy road one Saturday evening. She approached me cautiously (not knowing if I’d run or not), but instead I trotted right over to her, flopped on my back, started purring and then jumped in her arms! I have 2 modes: PLAY! And, CUDDLE! I can do “play” on my own with toys and balls, but I like it best when we play together. Now, for “cuddle”... I most definitely need you! For questions on adopting me, please visit www.aarfanimals.org or call 336-768-7387. n
Shyla
Snickers is a sweet and social dilute calico cat born January 1, 2010. She was surrendered to AARF when a family member was discovered to be very allergic to cats. She has been spayed and is current on shots. Contact us for more information about Snickers. You can meet and visit with many of our cats at the AARF House, 311 Harvey St, Winston Salem, during our adoption fair hours. Go to www.aarfanimals.org for information about our adoption fair hours and adoption process. n
Meet Gigi,
found the day after Labor Day 2 years ago in the median of I-40 with newborn puppies! Her rescuer brought her puppies to AARF after they were weaned and they found homes. Gigi stayed with the rescuer, but due to unfortunate changes they have to rehome her. Gigi is a little shy when first meeting people, but warms up. She loves to play and fancies herself a lap dog. She is housebroken and crate-trained. Meet Gigi at a Saturday Adoption Fair between noon and 3 at 311 Harvey St in Winston Salem. Due to a home visit being a part of the adoption process she cannot be adopted outside of an hour’s radius of Winston Salem. n
Sweet Cali
was found running loose with a chain padlocked to her collar. She is about 3 years old and is friendly with people. She likes to play with some other dogs, but can be initially intense with them. She is housebroken, crate-trained and learning to walk on a leash. She loves to go for car rides and is a smart girl who pays close attention to her foster family and loves everyone she meets. She would be best in a home with someone who has had dogs before and will continue to train her.
is what people call a Valley Bulldog, as she is 7/8 English Bulldog and 1/8 Boxer. She is 5 years old, very sweet-natured and loved very much by her mom. Sadly, her owner lost her job and had to move into a smaller apartment where she then was told she could only have one dog, the smaller of her two. Cali is a great dog and will be a wonderful addition to any family.
Meet Shyla at a Saturday Adoption Fair between noon and 3 at 311 Harvey St in Winston Salem. Due to a home visit being a part of the adoption process she cannot be adopted outside of an hour’s radius of Winston Salem. n

Greta entered the Project Pearl medical program when it was discovered she had mastitis and was heartworm positive. She’s a 1 year old, 80-pound puppy stuck in a big dog’s body! Very lovable, but also has an exuberant playful side and would do best in a home with dogs her size. In foster care, Photo courtesy of Kristin Deavers. she lives with other dogs and cats. Ansley. Say hello to Ansley! Ansley, her mother, Athena, and her 9 siblings were brought to a shelter by an owner who could no longer care for them. Unfortunately the shelter was very small and their time was quickly up, so we pulled the entire family. She’s a year old, has a wonderful temperament, and would be perfect with any family. She is with a foster who is great with socializing their dogs with other four-legged friends and they have a house full of children. Ansley is very well mannered, spayed, The Fort Rescue and up-to-date on her shots. She’s crate-trained, walks great on a leash, is very eager to please her human and knows basic commands. We were fortunate to get him back, thanks to the kindness of a neighbor! He is a big Spay Stokes cuddle bug who loves attention, playing with ropes and a good game of chase! He would make a great pet for a family with children. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention, microchipped and monthly K-9 Advantix 2 for fleas and ticks. To find out more about Kendall, give us a call at 336-971-2963 or email at: arsc2004@gmail.com. n

Training Your Pet
A New Puppy In The House??? By Pat Muhammad, Carolina Dog Training Club
M
any people get puppies for Christmas and by the end of January many of these puppies are already at the local shelter. There are several things to consider before getting a puppy, keeping in mind that puppies eventually grow up to be dogs. Before getting a puppy, the family should sit down and discuss the breed of dog that would best fit in their household, depending on space and time that they have available. If you live in a house with a big fenced in yard and plenty of room for your dog to play, then you are lucky. Most any breed would be good depending on how much time you have to spend with the dog. Those that live in an apartment would probably need a smaller dog that does not require as much exercise or space. All dogs, however, need some exercise which in turn means time to walk, run, or play with your dog. Consider whether your dog will need extensive grooming or just a quick swipe with a towel. This also takes time and energy. Once you have decided on the type of puppy you are going to get, you will need to take your puppy to the veterinarian for a check-up and immunizations. The next step, and a very important step, is to begin training as early as possible. Once your puppy is at least 12 weeks old and has had his basic immunizations, he is ready to attend a puppy class. This is very important, not only for training, but for socialization. We encourage all family members to attend so that everyone in the family knows the commands and how to do the exercises. It is important for the whole family to use the same command for each exercise so that the puppy does not get confused when asked to do a certain command. A routine is also important for puppies and dogs. Try to feed your puppy, take him outside to do his business, and exercise him at about the same time each day. They are creatures of habit and will do better with a fixed routine. Times will vary somewhat, but as much consistency as possible is helpful to your puppy as well as yourself. At Carolina Dog Training Club, we split up our puppy classes based on age. These classes help develop a good relationship with your puppy, placing emphasis on how to live with and care for your puppy. Our Puppy I class is for puppies up to 17 weeks old. The relationship between a puppy and it’s owner is a very important

relationship to form early in the puppy’s life. The puppy must learn to pay attention to it’s owner and do what is asked of him. Puppies are like sponges, they absorb a lot of what is going on around them. The basic commands taught to the puppies, such as sit, down, and come, are taught in a way so the puppies have fun and learn at the same time. Walking on a loose leash is very important and will prevent your puppy from pulling on the leash. We also show the puppies how to find their own place in the house such as a special mat, bed, or crate. This can be very helpful when cooking or having company over. Potty training, chewing, and mouthing are also covered in this class. Our Puppy II class is for puppies from 17 to 24 weeks old. This class is a continuation of the Puppy I class. It may also be taken if you were not able to get in our Puppy I class or if your puppy was a little older when you got him. The Puppy II class continues on with the basic commands such as walking on a loose leash, come, relaxation techniques, leave it, and take it. We also cover clipping your puppy’s nails and cleaning your puppy’s teeth. Puppy playtime is continued and the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is also part of this class. One of the most important things included in both our Puppy I and Puppy II classes is supervised puppy play time. Not only do the puppies get to play with other young pups, but they can interact and teach each other manners too. The puppies also get to interact with people, including adults and children. A puppy can be a great addition to your family whether you get a purebred or one from a rescue organization. The key to a successful relationship with your new puppy is training him or her early. Further information concerning our puppy classes can be found on our website at www.carolinadogtrainingclub.com.

Rose came to us on Valentine’s Day, as roses often do. Unfortunately, she came with an injury resulting from an accident that broke her leg. When she arrived, despite her pain and the necessity of an exam and a splint being apDoberman Rescue of the Triad plied until surgery was possible, she took both without a whimper and was able to give kisses all the same. She arrived in need of a bath, and while she didn’t favor it under the circumstances, she took that well, too. Patches. Hi, I’m Patches, and I’m probably the sweetest, most affectionate, most loving kitty you have ever met. I love humans and cats alike, but have never been around a dog or small children, and would probably do best in a household with just adults and maybe other kitties or maybe a small dog. I have been spayed, tested for FeLV/FIV and am up-to-date on all my shots. If you’re looking for a quiet, sweet kitty to be a real companion, I might just be your girl.

Paco is a highly energetic 6-month old puppy who loves to play fetch and explore outside. He has not had much socialization with other animals but has done wonderfully with our cat, my son and in meeting the neighbor’s dog. Paco does bark, but is OK when anyone approaches him, if he feels safe in his environment. He rides wonderfully in the car and likes to go on trips. Paco is very Chihuahua Rescue curious and needs a lot of stimulation to keep himself occupied. A good walking routine daily seems to keep him from feeling overly anxious. Paco is learning to go outside and is also getting used to using a pee pad. He know the commands sit, wait and let’s go. Paco sleeps in a crate at night, enjoys playing chase with my 11-year-old boy and does just fine with our cat. Contact: carolinascoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com. n

Tennis Balls in Heaven By Emily Harris
“
M
ommy, tell me about Eddie,” Connor asked at bedtime. Connor, who is 4, loves bedtime stories about animal rescue, superheroes and his family. Eddie was a mash-up of all three categories. Eddie was our blond Labrador retriever. We fostered him for the SPCA of the Triad beginning on Halloween 2007. He wasn’t refined and had a tendency to Houdini his way out of wire crates and get tangled in the blinds or attempt to eat doorknobs so he could get out to find his people. He entered the New Leash on Life program and graduated with his Canine Good Citizen certificate in January 2008. He’d been with us since as a family member. He was Connor’s first best friend, forging a deeper bond than what our son has with our rescue cats. Eddie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Nov. 18, 2014. “Why do you want to know the story of Eddie?” I asked Connor. Connor thought about it, then said, “Because he’s my brother and I love him, and he’s my best friend.” Eddie had a rough start to his life. He was found wandering on a Randolph County farm, a Remington Arms collar embedded in his neck and wounds on his neck and torso. The operating theory was that he was a hunting dog who didn’t perform and was left for dead – and possibly hurt to speed the process. Everyone who met Eddie noted his sweet disposition and soulful, caramel-colored eyes, and they commented on how handsome he was. However, he was a hot mess until he graduated from the New Leash program. He was scared of his own shadow, cowered with each bump in the night. The program really did give him – and other dogs – a second chance. The program, which ended with the closing of the Guilford County Prison Farm in 2009, ran for three and one half years and helped thirty-three inmates and sixtynine dogs. Eddie was everything you would want in a dog. He was smart, gentle, caring, kind, protective and mostly obedient. He was a wonderful and patient big brother and best friend to Connor. Connor and I talked about having a rescue birthday party for Eddie on Halloween. But it wasn’t to be. Eddie was attacked in our backyard by a raccoon the night of Oct. 14. He bolted out the back door before I got his leash on him. He nearly knocked me over to defend his house and family. I debated between running after him and leaving Connor asleep and alone in the house. I decided to go get him. After looking and yelling for him for less than two minutes, I found Eddie. By the following evening, Eddie had an abscess the size of a grapefruit on his neck. I called our veterinarian for an after-hours phone consult and made an appointment for the next morning. Eddie was seen from Oct. 16 through Nov. 18, 2014 at Myres Animal Hospital in Sanford. He had two surgeries: a debridement on Oct. 28 and a second, more invasive procedure to find and remove additional necrotic tissue and close the wound that would not stop bleeding on Nov. 18. March 2015 www.facebook.com/triadhappytails 44
Dr. Ron Myres explained that most times, the antibiotics and aspiration clear up the problem. I told him what I saw and suspected, and he believed the abscess was being caused by a wound or foreign body. We never found a wound, and there was no blood or indication of a cut. On Monday Nov. 17, I couldn’t sleep. Eddie had to go potty every two hours because of the medicine and I was worried about the surgery. After I took him out, I lay down on the floor beside his bed, careful to avoid the spots where his wound had oozed. I told him how much I loved him and that I wanted him to be better. He nudged my hand. I also told him I wanted him to be pain free. On Tuesday Nov. 18, Connor and I dropped off Eddie for surgery. We each told him good luck and gave him kisses. Myres called from the operating room to tell me it was worse than anticipated. He wanted to use the laser to cauterize the bleeding capillaries and veins. He told me he found a mass the size of an orange. Myres found no foreign bodies, but believed a bit of a foreign body got into Eddie’s blood stream. Myres called to let me know surgery was over and that Eddie was in recovery. The procedure was rough, and Myres insisted on keeping Eddie at the hospital through his recovery. A few hours later, the phone rang. It was Myres. I had a bad feeling before I even answered. He told me Eddie had died; he never fully awakened from the anesthesia. But he was not in pain, and he was not alone. One of the staff stayed with him, hand on his head. I don’t know how I got home that night. I was upset. I was second-guessing myself, replaying the night of Oct. 21, berating myself for not leashing him. Our yard is safe, at least we thought. I didn’t know how we would tell our son, but a copy of “All Dogs Go to Heaven” helped. Eddie was awesome. He was very needy, and for the first few years we had him, he had severe separation anxiety. He had a babysitter and he went to doggy day care. He was hostile to tall men who wore ball caps, probably reminded him of his hunting dog days. He loved his people, tennis balls and dog treats. His favorite activity was chasing a tennis ball. After reading “All Dogs Go to Heaven” to Connor, we shared some memories. My husband, Doug, asked Connor what he liked most about Eddie. “Everything,” Connor said. “ Me too, bud,” Doug responded. “Me too.”
Kenya’s mom was rescued by GSRA from a shelter in June of 2014. Shortly after she settled into her foster home, Kenya and her siblings were born. Kenya is a mini Velcro pup and is very attached to her pack and people. She is still learning her manners and training, luckily she is highly treat motivated. Kenya rides well in the car, loves to go for walks, loves to play and is eager to please. She is a little ball of high energy and has a reputation for scaling any fence.
