Holley had a family for 13 years, about 4 months ago the family had to move. They asked Animal Control to come and take Holley to the shelter to be euthanized because “she’s lived long enough.” When the shelter worker met this sweet, loving cat and found out that she had been delivered to die, her heart just broke. She called Feline Friends of Ruff Love Rescue to see if they could rescue Holley. And they did! Now Holley is hanging out with us while she waits for her “fur-ever” home!

AHBG is sponsoring Holley’s $50 adoption fee in the hope that she will find a super-special home that will love her like we do. Carolina BMW 2407 GREENGATE DR GREENSBORO, NC 27406-5250 336-272-4269 www.ridecarolina.com

Vet’s Corner Sedgefield Animal Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. Amanda Moon to our practice! Dr. Moon grew up in Granbury, TX. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and Religious Studies from the University of South Florida before attending Michigan State University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She later went on to become certified in physical rehabilitation. As a veterinarian she has worked in both family practice and emergency/specialty medicine. Her interests are rehabilitation and pain management, nutrition and internal medicine.

ging is a sensitive topic for both humans and animals. Over time it becomes necessary to change daily habits to prevent and manage the signs of aging. Our aging bodies provide new challenges to maintaining a healthy and comfortable lifestyle. I think we can all agree that losing weight and staying fit is much more challenging after you exit the 20’s. For pets it’s important to feed a proper diet and continue to encourage exercise even as they age. Your veterinarian is the best person to provide recommendations specific to your baby’s unique needs. They can calculate daily caloric requirements, help you select the appropriate diet to fit the lifestyle of your pet family as well as recommend exercises to keep your baby fit and preserve strength.

I’M HUNGRY... After a certain point animals start to become less efficient at metabolizing proteins. This is evident through muscle loss as well as a dull hair coat that may shed excessively. Feeding a high quality protein is the best way to prevent these symptoms. There are pet foods specifically balanced for senior animals. I would caution you to avoid food labeled for all life stages. These diets fit the needs for growing puppies and as such may lead senior animals to gain weight or develop other health concerns.

DELICIOUS FISH... OIL

ask. Even a stand movement can be very challenging for seniors with mobility concerns. Slow walks are a great choice but we have to pay attention to not push their limits. Be sure to consult your veterinarian before beginning an exercise program with your animal.

OUCH, THAT HURTS... If your angel limps or struggles to get up or down then they are likely experiencing some pain/discomfort. We are making strides in management of chronic pain in both dogs and cats. It is important to never give an OTC (over the counter) pain medication without consulting your veterinarian first. Remember that each animal and situation is different, so you should ask your veterinarian every time. Even pet pain treatments purchased at a pet store can be very harmful to your baby. Not all medications are created equal! We have great animal specific pain medications that can be prescribed if your companion is in pain. Your veterinarian may also recommend other options for treatment of chronic pain that can be used in combination with pharmaceuticals.

A good joint supplement is the key to a long comfortable life. In time their bodies may develop arthritis and unfortunately these changes are permanent. The goal then becomes relieving pain. A joint supplement started early, before the onset of arthritis, can prevent some of the degradation associated with joint disease. These supplements tend to be beneficial for other aspects of life as well. Your veterinarian can help you find the best one to fit the needs of your pet.

Our goal as members of the veterinary healthcare team is to help your pet have a long healthy life with you. We are able to advise you through the natural aging process and any illnesses. Keep in mind that preventing a problem is always our best option and early detection and treatment is crucial in diseases. Working with your veterinary clinic will allow you to maintain your baby’s quality of life for as long as possible.

Obviously adopting from a shelter or rescue that supports your local shelter is the easiest Cameron, one of our shelter employees, gives some love to Kayden. Kayden is an adorable four year old black and white hound mix with the sweetest personality. He came into the shelter as a stray back in April. He’s a medium size boy who is very good with other dogs. Kayden has been neutered and UTD on all vaccinations. He’s ready for his forever home, come by for a visit with him and find your new best friend.

Vet’s Corner Dr. Jessica Taylor is a small animal veterinarian at Guilford-Jamestown Veterinary Hospital with a passion for client communication, as well as interests in preventative care, pain management, and cardiology. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced in the Triad since 2006. She shares her home with her husband and two daughters, the laziest hound dog on earth, and a tyrant of a cat. In any spare time, she enjoys running, reading, and writing. Dr. Taylor looks forward to meeting you and your pet!

Jessica Taylor, DVM Guilford-Jamestown Veterinary Hospital

The Top 3 Things NOT to Ignore at Your Pet’s Check-up That time of the year has come again. Your vet office sent you reminder postcards and several emails because Fluffy or Fido is due for their annual exam, vaccinations, or screening tests. We know you are busy, and we know where those cards end up. BUT, that scheduled visit isn’t all about the “shots”. This is like you going to the doctor once every 5-10 years. Things change, often slowly, which can make it hard to notice when you see your pet every day. When we compare notes from the previous visit, we can find some important issues that, when addressed by your vet and family, can significantly improve your pet’s quality and length of life. Give us a few minutes of your time and we can work together to keep your pets healthy! 1. Weight gain or loss: Your veterinarian should keep track of how much your pet weighs. We can look back over the past few years and see if there has been a dramatic change. Now, if you’re feeding your pet extra hamburgers and ice cream, we are going to have a serious discussion about weight control. Did you know that up to 56% of dogs and 60% of cats were classified as obese or overweight in 2017?! Did you know that overweight pets live significantly shorter lives (1.5 to 2 years) than ideal weight or thin pets? Did you know that being even a little overweight leads to earlier onset of arthritis, joint injuries, and a higher risk for serious diseases like diabetes?! These are diseases that cost money, require long term medications, and can reduce a pet’s quality of life. We don’t want any of that! So, when we talk about weight loss, DON’T ignore us. It’s hard, we know, but it really is best for your pet! Alternatively, if your pet has lost a significant amount of weight, that is also a red flag. Some hormonal diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, and cancer can cause pets to lose weight. Blood tests to look at the thyroid, electrolytes, and other organ functions are often helpful in getting to the bottom of weight changes.

2. Bad breath, bad teeth: Imagine that you forgot to brush your teeth. Now imagine you forgot to brush your teeth for 1 year. You know that film that is on your teeth in the morning? Well, if that sits for months, it becomes hardened, like concrete, and traps bacteria, food, and funk. And that causes bad breath. But, that is the tip of the iceberg. The brown stuff on the outside of the teeth might not look great, but we are more concerned about what is happening along the gum line. Dental disease can lead to periodontal disease, which means that the gum pulls away from the tooth, allowing bacteria to get down to the roots. The results are loose teeth and even abscesses. “But my pet eats fine!” you say. Well, their survival instinct is pretty strong, and if they don’t eat, they’ll die, so it takes a whole heck of a lot of pain to get a pet to stop eating. Do you want to wait that long? Your vet will discuss ways to prevent dental disease (think brushing, special foods, toys, regular cleanings) and explain how dental cleaning procedures work and if they are right for your pet. We all love pet snuggles and kisses and we can help get back on track with a healthy mouth. 3. Yes, Fluffy needs prevention, even though he never goes outside: Your dog or cat sleeps with you and barely steps foot outside. Your pet doesn’t get fleas or ticks because you get your yard sprayed. You give your dog a supplement that repels mosquitoes. We have heard many reasons why you don’t want to put your pet on heartworm or flea and tick prevention. We know it is hard to remember every month. But, heartworm disease is really expensive and kind of dangerous to treat. And if you don’t treat it, the pet will likely die from it. We have treated several fluffy, designer dogs with heartworms and fleas. These parasites don’t discriminate. We can also promise it is a lot easier to prevent fleas than to try to get rid of them (a 3-month process, at least). We are also blessed to live in a state that has LOTS of ticks and LOTS of tick borne diseases, including, but not limited to: Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. So, yes, it is one more thing to think about and pay for, but there are many options available to make it easier on you and your pet. We will help you decide what is best and safest for everyone in your house! We can’t wait to see you and your pet for their check-up! It’s what we live and work for! So please, put down the cell phone, bring your list of questions, and listen to what your vet tells you. We want your pet to be with you as long as possible, and these issues and others detected during a complete physical exam, are important for making that happen.

A note on Senior Pets

As pets reach the 8 year mark, they are considered “Senior”. This means that some problems such as arthritis, cancer, dental disease, and hormonal changes are more likely. We like to see our Senior Pets more than once a year to pick up on these changes early. The earlier we diagnose and start treatment, the better outcome, less cost and treatments are required, and the better the result for your beloved pet!

Pepper is a female Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix found running around neighborhoods. She is estimated to be around 3 years old. She came to us heartworm positive but has been treated and is now healthy and ready for her new forever home! She was definitely someone’s house dog as she makes herself at home and also loves to ride in the car! She is very attached to her humans, so a home where she would be the only pet would be best for her. She has been spayed, up-todate on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention, and has been Spay Stokes microchipped. She walks well on a leash, knows how to sit and loves to give kisses! Email us at: arsc2004@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $150.00. n

Calli. Calli is a two year old female Boxer and Lab mix. She is happy, friendly, and loves to walk. She would do best in a home with dogs her size. Calli is cat tested, but new introductions should be slow in her forever home. Her adoption fee is only $100 and includes her spay, vaccinations, and microchip. Come meet Miss Calli at 291 Eaton Road, Mocksville, N.C. 27028. n

Casper is a beautiful flame point Manx, Siamese mix boy born about July 2017. Casper has a lion face, and a bit of the personality. He loves to be a lap cat, cuddle, snuggle and hates to be left alone. He’s very playful. Unfortunately, when he is frightened or upset his instinct is to lash out, and that makes it a slow process integrating him with other pets. So right now we are recommending him as an only cat. Tailless Cat Rescue He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, has been wormed and treated for fleas, microchipped, and tested FeLV and FIV negative. Roseanne Bark.

Say hello to “Roseanne Bark!” This little girl has a bluish tint to her coat and is our definition of “All American”. No, she doesn’t try to sing The Star Spangled Banner for the Fourth of July, but she does try to entertain you. She is a little spitfire, but so, so sweet! She LOVES everyone she meets and she is always ready to play. She is about 6 months old and is just happy about life.

this boy is so handsome! He is probably 1 year old and about 50 pounds. We think his face looks like a St. Bernard, maybe mixed with hound. He really loves to play with other dogs and is great with adults, but gets anxious with young children.

Marissa.

Jax is a happy Boxer/Pug mix who is eager to please, especially when treats are involved! One look at his face and you’ll fall in love. He is a cuddle bug, through and through. Jax loves other dogs and would love to have a fur sibling in the home to play with. He is housebroken, crate-trained and is getting better on leash. This handsome boy is a lady’s man. In fact, he’d prefer men weren’t in his forever picture, therefore, a home full of human females would be ideal. He needs an active girl in his life, willing to help him burn off energy by taking him hiking and exploring. The use of positive reinforcement when training goes a long way with this sweetheart as he is highly intelligent and learns best that way. Daisy is a sweet, petite Carolina Dog mix who simply loves living life with her people. She is a quiet girl who appreciates a good nap on a comfy couch alongside a favorite human but is also happy to be out and about exploring the great outdoors. She has enjoyed the company of children and larger dogs, but according to her former family, cats and smaller dogs are not quite her cup of kibble, therefore a home free of both is a must. Daisy is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines and house-trained. She is a wonderful dog who is ready to be adopted by a dedicated family who will cherish her forever. Rose

I’m 12 years young but don’t let my age fool you—I still have lots of energy and lots of love to give! I enjoy jogging around the neighborhood with my foster mom so I would do great with an active family and a fenced yard would be FABULOUS! I do great with other dogs, though haven’t had much interaction with cats but I’m really easygoing and smart so I could probably learn to love them. My FAVORITE things are evening cuddle time and belly rubs. I’m crate-trained, leashtrained and house-trained. They tell me that I’m a Boston Terrier mix. Please find it in your heart to give me my forever home!

is a beautiful and very talkative girl! She meows at you in greeting and is quite expressive with her voice. She likes being petted on the head and absolutely loves catnip. Rose is continuing to grow more confident in her foster home and while she is still not a lap cat, she does like being near her foster mom when she is in the room with her. She will curl up at your feet to snooze when the mood strikes her. She is definitely a cat that will take time to warm up to humans and really trust them, however, this girl is definitely worth loving and taking home!

GUILFORD COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER 336.641.3400 / www.myguilford.com/animal-shelter

Tina

Chica,

is a 1 year old spayed female cat who has been looking for a forever family since April of 2018. Tina is a reserved young lady, she won’t shower just anyone in affection and tends to be a bit persnickety with the company she keeps. Tina has gorgeous, large green eyes that are constantly on the lookout. She will make a wonderful companion to a quiet family that will give her the space and time she needs to come out of her shell and blossom into a beloved family pet.

A004713: If ever there was a girl who was destined to be a star, it is Chica! This beautiful baby girl has all the right moves to strike a pose that is sure to tug your heartstrings. While Chica may be the supreme superstar of the animal shelter she is certainly no diva! This bubbly baby girl is 100% game for rolling around outside, then relaxing in a nice, shady spot in the grass.

Ask for Tina, A004902, at the Guilford County Animal Shelter! n

Ask for Chica at the Guilford County Animal Shelter today! n

Andy, A005614:

Cliff,

This great big baby is Andy, a 4 year old neutered male who is available for adoption at The Guilford County Animal Shelter. Andy looks like a big, tough guy but he has the softest of hearts. When Andy first arrived, he was very shy and timid, he would stick to the back of his kennel and peep out with his big eyes. We knew he wanted love but he was so scared to open up. With lots of time (and some delicious treats) the shelter staff won over handsome Andy and he now happily comes to any hand willing to scratch behind his ears.

A004272: Oh Cliff! How this handsome man has been waiting for a family of his own since March is an absolute mystery! Cliff is the definition of a gentle giant. He walks nicely on his leash and sits politely on his bed for you to put on and take off his leash. This goofy goober loves to sit under the big shade trees in the play yard and have you scratch his rump. If you even dare to stop he will circle back around to give you a big, sloppy kiss and plop his booty in your lap so that you have no choice but to shower him with love. Cliff is truly an oversized lap dog! He loves to snuggle!

Ask for Andy at the Guilford County Animal Shelter today! n

Duggy,

Hannah,

A003616: if you are searching for a spunky baby boy, look no further than Duggy! This handsome hound loves to play and romp around and is so excited to get outside for playtime that he can forget his manners. But have no fear, once Duggy is tuckered out he settles right in for a good snuggle and a hearty scratch on the back.

A004873: My goodness, there are simply not enough words to describe what an amazing dog Hannah is. This 5 year old Bulldog mix walks great on the leash! She minds her manners, sits nicely for treats, and is even learning how to give her paw! Hannah has the softest, downy fur covering her “jelly belly” and the most precious wrinkles on the forehead that furrow when she is out and about sniffing in the play yards.

What in the Heck is a Cat Cafe?

K

itty Lounge...Alley Cat Coffee Bar... perhaps cappuccino with an orange tabby? We’re the Crooked Tail Cat Cafe, located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, a place where you can grab a sip and enjoy the company of felines. Our mission: We believe that all pets deserve a loving home. The Crooked Tail Cat Cafe provides a charming and relaxing atmosphere for adoptable cats to showcase their personalities. All of our cats are from Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network. We are committed to the well-being of animals, providing coffee, tea and other treats, and to the idea that one day all animals can get a loving furever family. We also believe in giving back to the animals, so a portion of our proceeds go towards helping a cat in need. By visiting our cafe you not only get to hang out with the coolest cats, but you’ll also help cats find their furever homes. The Crooked Tail Cat Cafe is not your typical coffee house. The cafe is separated into two spaces - one exclusively for the cats (Kitty Lounge) and another has the food and drinks (Alley Cat Coffee Bar). The kitties are strictly off limits from the areas where food is served. We encourage people to make a reservation for the Kitty Lounge in advance, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and for large groups. We take walk-ins, but are sometimes booked and unable to accommodate those without reservations. Each reserved time slot will get one hour of cat time in the Kitty Lounge. Our Alley Cat Coffee Bar is open to the public with free admission.

Many of our customers are interested in adopting a cat and our cafe provides the purrfect place to “interview” numerous cats and interact with them in a free-to-roam environment. Other clients are just not able to have a pet cat for various reasons so the cafe provides them with their cat fix. And still others just enjoy having a cat break in their day. Scooby is a

Frank’s foster mom called to let us know that he is doing AWESOME! She can’t fathom why he hasn’t found his forever family yet. He is very SMART and highly trainable. He does need someone with previous dog experience and older, quieter children. He does great for her and the rest of the family. Frank is crate-trained, housebroken, knows basic commands, and is ready to find his forever family today!

2 month old guinea pig. He knows how to put up with his brother, Scrappy, and all his shenanigans and tall tales. However, Scooby would much prefer to lounge and chillax. If you are interested in these two boys fill out an adoption application. Their adoption fee together is $30.

Toffee.

This sweet girl is an Egyptian Bobtail who was rescued from a high kill shelter back in Oct. but her new owner had to re-home her due to unforeseen circumstances. She’s 7 years old, spayed, up-to-date on shots and wants nothing more than to sleep in your lap and purr! Toffee would do best as an “only pet” or maybe with one or two other laid back cats and in a home with older children. If you want a cat who wants nothing more than a lap and snuggle time, then stop by and meet Toffee at Crooked Tail Cat Cafe. If interested in adopting him, please apply at www.reddogfarm.com. n

Snowball came to us when her owner went into the hospital and could no longer care for her. She’s a staff favorite at the cat cafe and she even comes to her name! From the cafe: “She’s sugar, spice, and everything nice, but with an extra helping of warmth. Her name is misleading, she is no frigid feline.” She gets along well with other cats and wants a forever home! Visit www.reddogfarm.com for more information! n

are 7 month old Lionhead Rabbits. They are just as sweet and addicting as the ice cream. These babies came to Red Dog Farm from part of a large hoarding situation. They are great little bunnies and should stay under 4 lbs. when full grown. They love to play in boxes, and throw around their wooden toy carrots and do little skip hops around their room. Ben and Jerry have a great appetite and love to eat their greens. They can be adopted together or as individual pets. Learn more and apply online at www.reddogfarm.com. n

Gretel came into our adoption program as a stray through a neighboring county’s animal control. We know nothing about her history but we do know that Gretel LOVES feeding time and has a great nicker she uses to express her excitement about meals. Gretel has a current coggins, is current on her vaccines, just had her feet trimmed and her teeth floated. Gretel was great for the vet and farrier and is also super easy to load on a horse trailer. We believe she would be a great companion horse and is probably past her riding years. She stands approximately 15.1 hands and has a slight sway back but has plenty of spunk! Please visit us online at www.reddogfarm.com to apply to adopt this great horse today. n

Sagan was recently adopted from DRT by one of our repeat adopters. It was an excellent placement except for one thing. Sagan needed more room and opportunity to run than was available in this setting. As a little time passed and his new owner assessed his exercise needs, she realized the responsible Doberman Rescue of the Triad thing would be to return him to us for placement in another home. It broke her heart to do so. Here are some of her comments and observations upon returning him: “I am so sorry I have failed Sagan. He follows me in the house and lies down in the room I’m in. He sleeps on the floor right beside me and never wanders around. He loves hugs and snuggles on his bed at night. I bathe him in a walk-in shower with a hand held wand. He runs and plays afterwards and comes to me to be toweled off. He’s a great dog; he’s just too strong to walk on city streets. He has so many good qualities.”

Ralph is very curious and adventurous, and loves other cats. He is afraid of nothing! He takes good care of his tiny brother Henry, and looks like a cross between a mouse and a tiny cow. Baby

Bibble is a gentle, playful boy who enjoys running and playing with his siblings but is also attentive to his humans. He purrs up a storm for attention, loves eye contact and is a good listener. Bibble delights in snuggling up with his brother, Apollo, to watch TV and fall asleep on the laps of his humans. He currently lives with his siblings, four humans and two Great Pyrenees who adore him. Bibble enjoys kitten toys, cat treats, food, clean water and a fresh litter box. He would like to be adopted with at least one of his other siblings. Meet and visit with many of our cats at the AARF House (311 Harvey St, Winston Salem) during our adoption fair hours. Telesto.

DOB April 7, 2018.

Hello! I was the first one out of the womb, because I just couldn’t wait to start eating! Some people would call me chunky, but I prefer the term fluffy. I pretend that I am shy, but secretly it’s just so I can get some extra treats. I love my mom, Saturn, and siblings Titan, Prometheus, Calypso, and Pandora. We have so much fun napping, climbing, and wrestling with each other. I am looking for my forever home and would love to go with one of my siblings or mom. If you come and meet me I will show you how I redefined the term roly poly.

is the smallest of the litter but also the cutest and sweetest. Baby often likes to fall asleep on a shoulder or cuddled with her sister, Bambi. Likes: Dancing hunks, Baseball (but only the last two months of the season), trashy love novels, all the treats, inspirational YouTube channels, the color pink, dancing or prancing, under the bed. Dislikes: Being put in the corner, Roomba vacuums, Rumba dancing, mean dogs, really anything mean, people who say “literally” too much. Approximate

Murray

Fancy

is a beautiful fluffy fellow born sometime in 2012. He is the biggest lovebug you will ever meet. He likes to be where people are and will follow the action from room to room. He just melts into your arms when you hold him. Murray is FIV+ so would do best in an indoor home with few other cats. FIV+ cats are immune compromised but as indoor cats can live as long and as healthy a life as any other cat. For more information on FIV check out https://bestfriends.org/resources/ fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-information.

is probably 2 years or younger. Her sweet disposition and cute looks earned her the name “Fancy Pants”. She is an amazing mom who purrs and cuddles and makes lots of cute sounds when she is petted. Great for a loving home and all people, Fancy may be stand-offish with dogs but willing to give them a chance. Likes: Reba McIntire, Stranger Things Season 1&2, ocean sounds and smells, birds, Bob Ross, Purina “Beachside” cat treats. Dislikes: Modern country music, cars, anyone messing with her kids, plastic couch covers, people who don’t silence their phones.

DAVIDSON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER 336.357.0805 / www.co.davidson.nc.us/animalshelter/

Missy.

Likes: sleeping in sunbeams and belly rubs. Dislikes: being dressed up in cute outfits, being talked to like a baby, and chaos. Missy is a quiet lady that is looking for a home that’s as laid back and mellow as she is. She doesn’t like a lot of excitement and noise. Missy is 7 years old and is looking for a relaxing retirement home to spend her golden years. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please come out to meet her and all of her other feline friends. Her adoption fee is $55 at the Davidson County Animal Shelter. n

Smitty.

Please allow us to introduce you to Mr. Smitty. He is a handsome 2 year old who is dressed to impress in his dapper tuxedo. He may be a little overdressed, but he is looking for a job as your personal assistant. Working on the computer? He will walk across the keyboard. Reading the paper? Smitty will be happy to hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? You can probably expect him to be attacking your shoelaces. Smitty tends to nibble and use his mouth to play so a home without small children would be best for him. He has passed his background check: neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FELV. His adoption fee is $40 at the Davidson County Animal Shelter. n

Rain has a puppy-like, happy-go-lucky, personality and is thrilled to play with everyone that shows her any attention. This adorable girl is ready to fill your life and heart with love and happiness. Rain is already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is also negative for heartworms and her adoption fee is only $45.00. Stop by the shelter and meet Rain and her other canine friends.

Sally.

This 1 year old girl is keen on finding her forever person or family – preferably sooner rather than later. She has been waiting for far too long for that special someone to take her home. Sally enjoys going for walks and then sitting under the shade tree to watch the birds or squirrels play. Her adoption fee is $45.00 and includes her spay, vaccines, and microchip. Sally is negative for heartworms. She is waiting for you at the shelter! Please call 336-357-0805 to learn more about Sally. n

Liberty. Let freedom ring for this pretty, 2-year old terrier mix. Liberty is a bundle of fun with a smile for everyone! She would love to have a family with older kids to play with. Liberty really has no idea that she is not a puppy. She needs someone willing to work with her on her manners and leash walking. Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for heartworms; all she needs now is a place to call home. Her adoption fee is $45.00. You can call the shelter at 336-357-0805 for more information. n

Peanut.

I was just saying to myself this morning, Peanut, you know what you need? You need a person of your very own.” So I sat down to write this post for the nice shelter folks because that’s apparently the thing they do – find nice people for smart, beautiful, and loveable kitties like me. I have to be honest, I like to be the center of attention and I expect to be the queen of the castle. At 5 years old, I don’t have time for any of that kitten nonsense. I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FELV. My adoption fee is only $25 at the Davidson County Animal Shelter. n
