In the natural world, snakes perform valuable environmental services that benefit other species and even the human population. Grab a seat in the shade of the pavilion to learn about Florida’s snake species and how to live with snakes in your home landscape. Be prepared to see live snakes! For details, call 941-861-5000.

TRASH TO TREASURE: WELCOME TO ROTHENBACH PARK

Nov. 26 / Ages: 12 and up / Fee: Free / Pavilion / Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Late autumn is a great time to take a leisurely guided walk along paved and mostly shaded trails through Rothenbach Park. Learn about the history of the site and the interesting blend of uses that make this site unique. Discuss the native and non-native plants and animals that live at the park and the techniques employed by the county to protect and preserve the habitat.
