HISTORY IN THE PARK: DR. C.B. WILSON HOUSE OPEN HOUSES

Year-round / All ages / Fee: Free / C.B. Wilson House / Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon Take a self-guided tour through the historic Dr. C.B. Wilson House to learn about the house, the Wilson family and other historical aspects of Sarasota County. Volunteer docents are onsite to guide you through the house and to answer your questions. FALL WILDFLOWER WALK

Oct. 8 / Ages: Adults / Fee: Free / Pavilion / Saturday, 9-10:30 a.m. October is the best month for wildflowers in Florida! Bring your camera, or just come along for the beauty of it! Join a parks naturalist for a pleasant walk along 1.5 miles of paved and unpaved trails. You will visit a pine flatwoods and the edges of two different wetlands, where you will see a variety of wildflowers, blooming grasses and trees full of fall berries. We recommend participants wear appropriate shoes for walking paved and uneven shell trails. Additional recommended items to bring are a camera, binoculars, drinking water, sun protection and insect repellent. For details, call 941-861-5000.
