MUN as an example for UN Interestingly enough, this insight that is the reason why the United Nation was created seem to me elusive for the actual UN members. The MUN is what the UN must have been, but is not. This clearly shows that the young men and women that attend to the MUN have much to teach to the actual official delegates and ambassadors. I also show us that the MUN stands as a light of hope in the world.

Of course that I realize this position can be accused of being naïve. Statesmen will surly argue that the complexity of the UN sessions is far beyond imaginable lines that MUN can bear. They will argue that the economical and cultural implications are far more complex than the argued by young adults and teenagers which can be bias by there age and newly evolved ideas.

I believe that the young men and women that are in Model United Nations, like the one we are gathering this week in Santander, are looking through the right window when they address the topics. They make politics attractive and viable and not the chaos and self interested discussions that we see today. They make it possible to think about a future where The Model United Nations is done across the world. Students from schools and universities from many countries have created their models and practice debating as a way of understanding today’s world as well as delivering the best quality education to the participants. One of the most important MUN is done in New York where youngsters from across the world unite and session in the UN building. In these meetings profound debates take place and the conclusion of these discussions has been, during the

human beings can coexist between cultures, religions and political beliefs. They make imaginable that we can have a world in which we can perpetually enjoy nature. They guarantee that in a few years, if they continue with their ideals and pureness of thought, they will do a far better job than what the failed generations of leaders have proposed. I wish all the best to the participants in the CNCMUN. Welcome to making the future possible.

SECRETARY GENERAL Our wish has always been to set an example for schools of every region, but especially in the local area of Santander. I believe that the precise way to do so, is promoting critical thinking in the young minds of students. It is this way that we can get an overview of the issues that surround us, and we can provide our communities with solutions. Scenarios such as Model United Nations are extremely important for students who wish to perfect their leadership skills and their argumentative productions. The future of our society is being molded and reinforced every time students wish to get involved in current and crucial world-wide events.

I want to encourage every new delegate to get involved in a deeper way with this type of academic activities. Being a “rookie” is usually a challenge; however, I wish to support every single student, in order for them to find in themselves the confidence and potential to have a great MUN experience. In addition, I want to invite every single participant to Dear CNCMUN II participants,

work as hard as they can. Make sure you get the very best of this, your Model United Nations.

It is a great honor for me to introduce to all of you the second version of the New Cambridge School Model United Nations. Through this last several months, the Cambridge United Nations Club has been working persistently to prepare one of the most academically qualified events in Santander. This is represented in the time we have spent preparing every single detail for this conference, academically and logistically. It has always been our

Lastly, I want to thank my working team, who has been working alongside ever since day one of this project we have planned. I wish that you learn from every single delegate and that you inspire others with your example. Remember to keep working as a team and to work with joy for every attendee. I could not be prouder of every single one of you. Thank you for inspiring me.

wish for every delegate to have a great experience working with students from other schools and representing different perspectives.

“Men make history and not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better. “ -Harry S Truman

Security Council (SC) War is a real concern in the South China Sea and the Syrian territory. The Security Council must preserve peace worldwide, but China’s intentions to expand and Syria’s current situation threatens international law and order. Delegate, it is our responsibility to maintain our world in peace, but how is the peace we want? Are you going to create a huge nation under a Chinese flag in the South China Sea? Or would you prefer to preserve international order as it is in the Syrian land? The world is now on your hands, what are you going to decide?

Economical and Social Council (ECOSOC) The Economical and Social Council aims to find pertinent and effective solutions for the several socio-economic affairs that currently affect our world. In this case, the commission is going to debate around the recruitment of children into armed forces, which is a serious violation of their fundamental rights and a matter of serious urgency. Also, in sight of the new economical policies that various countries are implementing, the committee will address the impact of protectionism on the global economy, searching to create appropriate resolutions for both problematics and making the best of this insightful and enriching commission. The future of these issues is in your hands, you are in charge of making crucial decisions that can change the world; so delegates, are you ready to make an impact?

This committee provides a ground-breaking platform for leadership on global environmental policy. This is the moment for enrolling yourself in an environmental commission to discuss topics of global importance that are affecting us directly. You are going to have the possibility of addressing the complexity of the issues by the promotion of argumentative discussions that are going to end in profitable and feasible solutions to enhance our planet. Historical Crisis Cabinet (HCC) The Historical Crisis Cabinet is an experimental committee, in which the delegates will have to know very well the position of their country in order of keep readjusting it to all the events that happen, as it’s happening in real time, so many things could change the course of the debate. This committee gives the opportunity to delegates to travel back to the past, learn about it, reconsidering the choices that mankind did in the past. History is what makes us what we are now, so the best way of analyzing how and why the relationships between some countries are, is by living through the events they passed by.
