or those who want to be trained in the field of Martial Arts and Dancing, the “Fist and Toes Training Centre and Dance Studio” is right in the center of Marikina to serve health and dance enthusiasts in this side of the city. Since 2013, The Fist and Toes Training Centre and Dance Studio has been offering Cardio Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Judo, Wushu, Krav Maga, Zumba, Ballet and Yoga. The training hub cum dance cen-

ter was established by couple Ms. Jocelle Rivera and Mr. John Louis Mangoyob who initially just want to share their passion for Martial Arts and Dancing to their close friends and associates. Interestingly, the name of the establishment “Fist” stands for training center, while “Toes” refers to the dance studio. The couple really knows their stuff when they decided to put up the business. John was trained at the prestigious Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and is currently working as an Area Head-NCR for Security Department at Greenfield District in Shaw Blvd. to page 2

Passion blends at ‘Fist and Toes Training Centre and Dance Studio’ He is into combative sports and was a member of SLU Judo Team, PMA Judo Team, PMA Wushu Team and PMA MMA Team. He was formerly an Assistant Training Coach for PMA Judo and Wushu Team. John is currently an active member of Philippine Judo Federation. For her part, Jocelle is a graduate of Miriam College and was a PEP Squad and Dance Club Member during her student days. She spent 10 years in Sales and Marketing department with an LPG company. She is now managing the family businesses which, aside from Fist and Toes, also include food take-out or delivery and a kiddie salon for parties. The studio started in a vacant lot owned by Jocelle’s parents. The couple original plan was just to put a roof for the students. Eventually they decided to build a full concrete studio with office, toilet, shower and dressing room, lobby for the parents and a waiting area outside. A visit to the establishment affords a glimpse of the couple’s penchant for modern house designs, as

highlighted by the choice of bright colors (orange, green and yellow) to induce positive atmosphere inside the studio John and Jocelle personally see to themselves that their students get the most out of what they paid. The cost of training is very competitive and affordable without sacrificing quality and standard comparable to other studios offering higher fees. For Summer Workshop, Fist and Toes offers Kids Club Kickboxing, Kids Club Zumba, Hip Hop Dance Class, Baby Ballet, Basic Ballet and Teen Ballet. The studio can also be rented for dance practices, photoshoot, and small crowd get-together. John and Jocelle said their future plan is to build another floor to separate dance classes from physical fitness training. Top 10 Philippine Travel Destinations for 2015

S

ummer is the perfect time to chill and have fun with your family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. So most of you right now are thinking where to spend your summer vacation, right? Beaches and landmarks are the most in demand places every summer so if you are wondering where to spend your summer vacation this year, let’s take a tour to the best places to visit in Philippines this summer vacation. Here is the list for the top 10 best places in the Philippines to visit this summer. 1.Batanes Batanes is a tiny group of islands located at the northern tip of the Philippines. The waves of modernization seems to have never reached the Batanes group of islands. Instead of malls are the so-called “honesty stores”, where cos-

tumers take and pay for their things honestly without the owner looking after them, and instead of cinema houses is the scenic view of the starry sky and the sea. Batanes is secluded, small, and serene, and everyone here knows each other. Experience life at its most basic form in these little islands. 2.Siargao Island Siargao is the surfing capital of the Philippines. International and local surfing competitions are held here annually. Still, if you’re not a fan of surfing, Siargao Island also offers you a so-called Naked Island, a shifting sandbar where you can go do your own hobbies. 3.Coron Kayangan Lake of Coron Island Palawan is the cleanest lake in the Philippines, and its equally clean and crystal-clear blue waters make it one of the best diving spots in the world, according to an internationally renowned travel magazine. 4.Boracay Island Who hasn’t heard of Boracay Island’s pink sands? If you don’t like beaches, the sun, or the color of the sand, then try going to the Dead Forest at night. Locals say the

forest scares at its best during the full moon and you’ll understand when you get there. 5.Bohol Last year, when the island of Bohol was hit by an earthquake, its tourism rates, which used to be on the top of the country’s list, decreased abruptly. This year, with the campaign “Visit Bohol 2015”, the government aims to help Bohol to regain its former glory. Come to Bohol and see how a fallen province rises up once again with the combined strength of bayanihan, and hope. 6.Sagada If you prefer to spend your vacations in the mountains, then Sagada in Mountain Province is the place to go. Here, you can either spend time with the locals by watching how crops get harvested, and how these fresh, but surprisingly cheap crops get sold in the famous “Saturday Markets”, or you can spend time with nature by going biking, hiking, or caveexploring. Or you can do both. 7.Siquijor As one of the smallest provinces in the country, it

might come as a surprise to you if you find out that it’s actually packed with tourist attractions even century-old Balete trees are must-sees. This place is known for its traditional healers and its mystery-shrouded churches like Sta. Maria Church and St. Francis de Assisi Church. 8.Caramoan Caramoan is perfect place for all nature lovers out there: If you don’t like the crowds too much, and if you want your trip to be as calm and close to nature as much as possible, then you should go see Caramoan. 9.Davao City Davao City is known for a lot of things: its beaches, its fruits, its Philippine Eagle Nature Center, its Crocodile Park, and a whole lot more. 10.Vigan Vigan City has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 meaning it’s not just the Phillippines’ treasure, it’s also the whole world’s! Vigan features perhaps the most preserved cities on Earth, with its structures dating back to the early 1500s. Source: outoftownblog.com
