A taste of authentic Japanese cuisine at Seifuku
Marikeños with discriminating tastes for authentic Japanese foods need not go that far. Right in the heart of Marikina is a place which is sure to satisfy their discerning taste buds, the Seifuku Japanese Restaurant.
A conjugal idea of Ms. Jhona and her husband, the Seifuku Japanese Restaurant stems from their fondness in dining in selected eating places. The couple went to Makati and other resto in Metro Manila in search for Japanese foods. This raison d’être prompted them to bring their favorite Japanese foods to Marikina to page 3
Coffee and Food Haven just around the Corner The recently opened Goldrip Café is the newest gem Marikina has to offer. Located along Rainbow Street corner Katipunan Avenue, Goldrip Café is owned by a couple who wanted to have a place where they can unwind and relax after a long day’s work. The owners are fascinated with coffee, so putting up a café seemed to be the perfect idea. The café to page 2 offers a wide

range of dishes to choose from. The menu are based on the owner’s own recipes and own blends of coffee. The food is focused on the selection of American and Filipino breakfast meals. One of the dishes that everyone should try is their Beef Tapa. A generous serving of slow cooked delicious tender beef with the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. For only P140, their Beef Tapa meal is more than your money’s worth. For dessert, I tried their Chocolate Chip Waffle and Mocha Sansrival. The single order, same with the Beef Tapa meal, is actually good for sharing. The waffle is light and cooked perfectly, while the Mocha Sansrival is mouthwatering with the balance of flavors that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Both desserts will be a great pair for a cup of coffee or tea. They also offer paninis, pasta dishes, salads and cakes and pastries. The café’s coffee selection deserves serious attention. The owners are coffee aficionados.
They meticulously sourced out the best coffee beans they could find. The idea is to serve high quality coffee, at an affordable price. Being a coffee lover myself, I couldn’t resist enjoying two cups during my visit- café latte and caramel macchiato at P95 and P110 respectively. Other coffee best sellers are Dark Mocha Ice Blended and Peppermint Mocha (Cold) both at P135 each. They also serve teas, milk teas and iced tea which is actually freshly brewed with a tang of calamansi. Goldrip Café is worth trying for. The café will put you to a relaxed mood that would inspire you to hang-out with your family and friends or simply read a good book while enjoying the café’s best selling food and drinks. Goldrip Café is admirable of its café’s simplicity and flavourful choices of original recipes. A taste of authentic Japanese cuisine at Seifuku and thereby start their own restaurant business. Seifuku, by the way, means SEI which means “Success” and FUKU means “Luck and Happiness” in Japanese. The resto differs from other Japanese eateries in the business because they only serve authentic Japanese cookery. The customer is assured that the ingredients originated from Japan, made possible by the Seifuku’s transporters. The transporter’s job is to travel twice a month to bring genuine ingredients and products from Japan to the Philippines. In Seifuku, the customers are guaranteed first rate service from the dedicated and hardworking crew who were trained by Ms. Jhona herself. Her staff includes expert cooks and waiters/waitresses whose working experiences include serving fine dining. In addition, customers need not also worry about the cost since the management had
made sure that the prices are affordable. As entrepreneurs, the husband and wife team are aware of the risk that a new business like Seifuku can face. For instance, they encountered complaints from some customers who waited during the opening day last Nov. 18, 2014. Presently, the plan is to focus on Seifuku before considering putting up a branch in the future. Aside from serving authentic Japanese foods, Seifuku also offers multipurpose function rooms good for 8 pax, 12 pax, and 15 pax. The 15 pax can be converted into 30 pax following the removal of the divider. Best Holiday and Christmas party venue. Satisfy your palate with authentic Japanese foods. Visit Seifuku Japanese Restaurant now at 51 Gil Fernando Avenue, San Roque, Marikina City.
