Working with hemp and straw has made me gain knowledge regarding the latest natural, organic, and sustainable materials available for construction, with which we have managed to achieve passive house standards. It is a breathable material that absorbs moisture and humidity within the building, provides a healthy environment reducing carbon emissions, being a simple construction system. It works well acoustically and thermally, but also against fires and pests, being highly energyefficient. Can be used on walls, floors, or ceilings. 3º_VIEWBANK HOUSE

efficiently. It all starts with observing that the techniques commonly applied in the construction of low-rise homes have not evolved for years, despite the wide range of possibilities that nowadays technology offers. This analysis led to the conclusion that the use of lighter materials, using dry construction techniques, with a higher degree of prefabrication was a necessary ingredient of the solution. That is why a complete building system is being developed in partnership with manufacturers,
builders
and
developers,
which I am proud to have been a part of since its inception.
Baños house
It is based on the Garnica Brick panel, a sandwich made up of two plywood panels glued together to an extruded polystyrene foam core. This composition makes it light and suitable for prefabrication.
Artaun house
Detail facade
Upon the completion of the foundations on site, the prefabricated volumes are carried by truck to the site and then placed with a crane at its final position. It is possible to overlay the volumes one on the other, up to three floors, to form larger buildings. Some parts of the building, such as the finishing of the roof and eventually the façade, have to be executed in place before the building can be delivered to the user. The example shown here is a house in Baños, La Rioja (Spain), finished in February 2017 and got successfully the Passivhaus certificate.

The south-facing orientation allows a rational layout of common areas to the south, with the areas at night to the north, and thus, all the houses have contact with the outer space. The volume is developed using 8 modules of houses of 12 meters front in series and of a height of ground floor + 2, obtaining a total of 24 houses. The volume is completed to East and West by triplex corner homes that complete a total of 26 houses. The section of the building that defines the proposal consists of the layout of the first two floors of the block intersected with each other so that both plants have use and enjoyment of the ground floor plot. In fact, the house with the living room on the ground floor has the bedrooms on the first floor, while the living room on the first floor has the bedrooms on the ground floor.

FORTIĂ‘ON PASSIVE HOUSE Santorio Arquitectos 2020 - Saianes, Spain Project Architect, Design & Engineering Private project - residential GFA: 405 sqm Budget: $ 1.4M
As a project architect, I was in charge of the development of the initial idea, until the final delivery, studying the planning regulations, developing 3D models and volumes, concept and technical drawings, and construction details. I maintained direct contact with the client, with the different suppliers and contractors _ This Passive House project seeks to create a dialogue based on respect and the direct relationship between the proposed building, the surrounding nature, and the sea as a natural living picture. It seeks to be an accommodation with a strong and striking character, a contemporary cabin in the middle of a rural environment. the house is organized in three split levels. An intermediate one where the common areas are located (kitchen, dining and living room, toilet) from which you can access the remaining two. Starting from this premise, a curved wall is created inspired by the road. A wall that in turn fulfills a double function; the separation of public-private spaces as mentioned above, but which in turn serves as an exhibition space, since it uses metal uprights that follow the dimensions of the modules used by Ducatti and Harley Davidson of 90 x 90 cm, which offers the store a place full of possibilities, by being able to alter the exhibition spaces by playing with the different positions on the wall.

THE RIVER AS A SPACE FOR OPPORTUNITY AND ATTRACTION Santorio Arquitectos 2014 - Muiños River, Nigrán, Spain Project Architect, Control & Landscaping Urban & Public Dotational project GFA: 9km long Budget: $ 2M
In this project, I worked identifying the elements of patrimonial value (old carriage roads, mills and laundries dating from the 18th century) along the 9 km length of the project. I produced conceptual plans, technical designs, and construction details e 3D images. I was in charge of identifying native and invasive plant species with the collaboration of landscape designers, as well as designing and executing the skatepark. _ With this intervention, it is possible to offer citizens a variety of spaces in which to relax and enjoy, being in contact with nature. The
existing
spaces
where
the
action
takes place are magnificent, of a very high environmental value, although currently, they are very degraded, due to the pressures that the river has been suffering for years. Therefore, it is imperative to act to safeguard the ecological state of the river and with minimal impact, transforming the current state and turning it into a new place to relax and socialize, destined for the entire community.

REHABILITATION OF A PRIVATE HOUSE IN GONDOMAR Santorio Arquitectos 2010 - Val MiĂąor, Spain Project Architect, Private project - residential GFA: 260 sqm Budget: $ 4K
View from Outside
My main task in this project was to carry out the execution process, producing technical drawings and construction details, as well as monitoring the building process and control during the on-site visits. _ First Floor
In a population settlement of a rural character and with a preexisting ruin of a certain value, its recovery and extension are proposed, by means of the conjunction with a new contemporary body. It seeks to establish a calm and calm dialogue, based on respect, between the original building and the new projected volume. The pre-existing construction, of two heights, communicates with the new volume, also of two heights, through another body of ground floor at the level of the plot, imperceptible from the outside of the property.
