HOUSE DESIGN
CENTRAL, HONG KONG
DESIGN STUDIO II
Instructor: DANIEL CHAD McKEE University of Hong Kong SPRING 2010
Following the analysis of villa cock (LeCourbusier), one clear example of modern architecture ; in the different issues: structure, understanding of space and circulation; to name a few, during this study, I considered the circulation and the plasticity of the walls worked together to create all common and private spaces. Analyzing plans and sections as well as a diagrammatic drawing I allowed myself to design a house located in Soho, Hong Kong considering the same issues and illustrating LeCourbusier points on modern architectural buildings. The design presents structural columns, plastic walls and major openings.
CENTRAL LIBRARY EXTENSION TAI-HANG, HONG KONG
DESIGN STUDIO III
Instructor: DEBORAH CHUNG University of Hong Kong FALL 2010
Tai Hang is one of the areas in Hong Kong Island that has changed least in the past years, it remains with low-rise housing building that are slowly transforming into a high class restaurants and design shops, but there are still some car fixing shops and old houses. This design is mainly focused on an extension for the central library a few meters away, the strategy is not only involving the building but the whole neighborhood, design a series of green area and facilitating the residents to move easily and efficiently along the whole site. The library itself is a result of a series of circulation paths.
ZHA BAI INSTITUTE OF DESIGN ZHA BAI, SHANG HAI
DESIGN STUDIO IV
Instructor: FEI WANG University of Hong Kong SPRING 2011
ShangHai is an exceptional example of a city with an impressive development in architecture and infrastructure. Intending to follow the dynamic change the city is under-going, The Zha Bei Institute of Design represents a merge between architecture and landscape design, where one becomes the other. Where the landscape warps itself in order to create spaces for all different purposes, where students, teachers and community members live in harmony, while still have the opportunity of exploring their own activities in adjacent spaces without disturbing those around. Large green areas also bring nature into the mix.
DODEC AHOUSING SHAM SHUI PO, HONG KONG
DESIGN STUDIO V
Instructor: CHRISTIAN J. LANGE University of Hong Kong FALL 2011
Sham Shui Po is one of the oldest and most traditional neighborhoods in the Kowloon Peninsula side of Hong Kong. The capacity of maintaining the original structure of a building while modifying everything else about it, provide us with the opportunity to re-invent living and circulation spaces for families living in the area for generations. Using a combination of white concrete and glass panels, Dodecahousing, is the representation and balance between the old and the new; the harmony between what remains and the work and inspiration for making the live-style of many families improve through space.
THE LILY PADS
FORTRESS HILL, HONG KONG
DESIGN STUDIO VI
Instructor: OLIVIER OTTEVAERE University of Hong Kong SPRING 2012
Designing mix-used residential towers is a very complex process. This project has a low of points into consideration, the possibility of reclaiming the front side, challenging the concept of floor plates, interaction of units, living spaces and the difference between public and private circulation. Starting with a very simple GFA study and the circle as the principal resource, argumenting that it allows a continuous space with no corners; this building became an example of one way to deal with a water-front and a highway; there is certain segregation which evocate a high-rise building melting into a small village.
YOUTH CULTURE & DEVELOPMENT CENTER BOGOTĂ , COLOMBIA
DESIGN STUDIO VI
Instructor: PETER MACAPIA PRATT INSTITUTE SPRING 2018
Following an extensive research, accounting for the high percentage of criminal activities by children and teenagers and the low and unsuccessful educational system in Colombia; and a experimental use of casting materials as plaster, concrete and resin on a layering fashion contained in two different geometries. The proposal for a new space in a crowed area in the city, which will be focused completely on trouble youth, giving them the tools, spaces and motivation to peruse their own dreams without depending on a irregular system that seems to have forgotten about them, whilst proving legal counseling.
NAVY-YARD MEDIATHEQUE BROOKLYN, NY, USA
DESIGN STUDIO V
Instructor: HENRY SMITH-MILLER PRATT INSTITUTE FALL 2017
The Brooklyn navy-yard has a long history, from those days when it was a base for the production of warships, all the way to today, when is a HUB for designer, artists and engineers. The yard has gone through extreme use changes, however its infrastructure has changed close to nothing in the past decades. The BNY Mediatheque is a longspan bridge which holds all kinds of media and digital expression spaces, while also creating a more direct connection in between Williamsburg and DUMBO, and its aggressive concept, cutting through the yard itself and re-generating spaces and water routing for the ferry.

DESIGN STUDIO III
Instructor: MARIA SIEIRA PRATT INSTITUTE FALL 2016
The Torus is a mix-use studio apartment building, located in the heart of Williamsburg. Intending to create a space for the socialization and integration of people from all different backgrounds and personality types. A extensive study of the torus geometry permitted the development of a building which contains two different kinds of outdoor spaces, while relieving the heavy building mass with a panelized curtain wall coated in a gradient colorful that protect its inhabitants from the direct sun light. The parametric design creates a strong contrast with building surrounding and a circulation that goes in 360 degrees.
SOUTH FERRY HIGH SCHOOL PIER 6, MANHATTAN, NY, USA
DESIGN STUDIO II
Instructor: JAMES GARRISON PRATT INSTITUTE SPRING 2016
Concerned with the rapid reclamation of land in the coasts of Manhattan during the past few decades and the disappearance of the traditional wooden ferry piers, the necessity of reactivation of the Manhattan pier 6. With help from the adjacent veteran memorial park and the extension of its perimeter, the design of the South Ferry High School revitalized the area and provide the local children with a most deserved complex, with diverse spaces such as, basketball stadium, auditorium, library and a large outdoor playground which will help them develop as functioning parts of society in equal conditions.

PROJECTION LINES RHINO/PSD/Ai
MEDIA REPRESENTATIONS - I
Instructor: BENJAMIN JENKINS MARTINSON PRATT INSTITUTE FALL 2015
In an effort to learn and improve my digital composition skills and drawing sensibilities, and from a long process that started with a video recording and image tracing, was born the idea of a eggshaped universe where everything was a mere projection of itself into the egg’s surface. Each color represents an egg and its increasing diameter, each color overlaps and complements each other creating a explosion-like sensation. The 3 following images are views from within, from outside and a selection of just the projected objects into the surface for a better understanding of the project itself.
THE DRAGON DANCE
RHINO/GRASSHOPPER/MAXWELL/PSD
MEDIA REPRESENTATIONS - II
Instructor: BENJAMIN JENKINS MARTINSON PRATT INSTITUTE SPRING 2016
The incredible advances in software development permit today’s designers the opportunity to create mesmerizing images that can deceive the mind for its reality value or creating completely irrational scenarios. I took this chance to create an aggressive dance among to large mechanical-looking objects in a planetary scale. This was achieved through the 3d modeling of a children toy and the array, scale and rotation of it in a parametric fashion with grasshopper. The rendering and after editing were done with Maxwell render and adobe Photoshop CS6. And the drawings with Adobe Illustrator.
OBJECT EVOLUTION MAYA/PSD/Ai/3DSmax
MEDIA REPRESENTATIONS - II Instructor: BRIDGET RICE PRATT INSTITUTE FALL 2015
Exploring some of the extends and flexibility of an object when different forces attack it. Starting with the 3D modeling of simple geometries, proceeding with the object bending, rotating, melting and mirroring itself whilst increasing in size. The evolution of these two examples shows how the object acquired a new formality and its own capacity enhance what its previous member provided it, at the same time, always remaining true to its own identity making object after object a member of its own family. After highlighting the objects history, there was an attempt to create an expressive line drawing to capture its beauty.
THE COOKIE
RHINO/LASER-CUTTING/3D PRINT
DIGITAL IMAGING STUDIO
Instructor: BRIDGET RICE PRATT INSTITUTE SPRING 2017
The following six cookies are a progression step by step of my thinking process towards creating an object that reflects my vision on discovery. First there was a natural landscape, untouched. Then a study of this landscape’s surface. Then, literally, the word discover in 14 different languages representing all different cultures and civilizations. After a rather aggressive move, our discovery is permanently merged with the landscape, to the point where the become part of each other. Last, we find a physical model of this study. A 30in diameter cookie of cardboard and PLA 3d prints; A new way to discover.
BLOODY MESS
RHINO/MAYA/3D PRINT/CASTING
NANOTECTONICA
Instructor: JONAS PRATT INSTITUTE SPRING 2018
A great fascination for microscopic organisms observed through a scanning electron microscope or SEM. After acquiring and organize them in a taxonomy the final arachnid feet and human muscle tissue deviated to 3d modeling experimentation which resulted in the object in the images. The color pattern was a different but still co-related study with casting of various materials such as concrete, plaster, resin, paint, coloring, fabrics, wax and many others. Finally, after individual studies, the concepts were merged into an object 3d printed and then re-casted into the final result almost resembling a bloody mess.
