Ode To The Dead Pine Tree
years ago and young taking hold of an axe i haphazardly chopped and slashed a beautiful and innocent pine tree not realizing it would slowly die the pine tree bled oils and sap that flowed laggardly over time several years later it was still erect but only had two weak limbs stretching out like the arms of Christ seeing this and realizing I was a witness to my own insolent and destructive behavior sadness overtook my spirit immediately I took a photograph of this poor victim of juvenile boredom three days later my father cut the tree down and dug the stump out of the ground this memory I still have hanging on my wall in a frame
