How to write the English words for different kind of activity’s for a day. Phase 1: Creating interest and motivation At the beginning for this topic, the children listen to a song. This song called: Rock around the clock. The teacher asks the children witch words they have heard. And do they know what the words mean in Dutch. After this interaction with the children the teacher shows the cards with the numbers one to twelve.These numbers standing for the clock


numbers.

Phase 2: Introduction The teacher writes this sentence on the board: Times of the day. Then he or she asks the children what they do during a day and at what time. The teacher writes these words with the right times on the board. After this the teacher shows the children a poster. This poster shows what you can do in a day time and at what time. The teacher discusses this poster with the children. Phase 3: Application of content The children make a one timetable. The teacher is giving the children an own work sheet. “Listening very careful. You have to fill in this worksheet, than you have an own timetable of the day. In the first line you write the time of the day. In the second line you draw the pointers in the clock. In the third line you draw the activity you do, example a breakfast or lunch or supper. More examples are: Brush your teeth. Going to school. Doing homework. To clean up you’re room. Playing games. Dinner. Watching TV. Going to bed. Make sure you write your own name on the worksheet. We discuss the worksheets in the next lesson! Enjoy working!”. Phase 4: Consolidation of the content. The children play the game quartet. Every child gets some cards. The children have to collect as much sets as possible. One child starts asking for other cards. The child must ask cards of the sets in his hands. He tried to collect all the cards of one set. The winner is the person with the most complete sets.
