Vintage Boutique Expands Just in Time for March 12 Event Shoppers will find more vendors, clothing from a broader range of time and even vintage ephemera. CULVER CITY — February 27, 2011 — The next Helms Design District Vintage Boutique offers enthusiasts more than ever before on March 12, 2011 with the addition of five new vendors and a wider selection of unique finds. Classic, designer and repurposed women’s vintage clothing, hard-to-find men’s vintage wears, vintage jewelry and other accessories from individually selected top-tier dealers and designers were offered in 2010. With the 2011 expansion, shoppers will see a broader range of decades represented — even collections from the Victorian and Civil War eras. Those who attend the Vintage Boutique will also find vintage ephemera such as fashion magazines and vintage sewing patterns from the past. Shoppers will discover everything they need for their vintage wardrobe including beautiful handbags from the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s. And even more designers will present one-of-a-kind repurposed vintage clothing. New vendors at the March 12 event include Patty Hubbard, Lori Marsha, Ellen Weiner, Checkered Apron and Dorothy Tilley. These new vendors will accompany Timeless Vixen, Elizabeth G, Miss Kory Lynn, Vintage Blue Moon, Susan de Tresor, Little Treasures, Jermel Nakia, Rockstar Vintage Couture, Maxine Goldberg, Reneé Vintage Designs and Clever Vintage Clothing among others.

Since its inception one year ago, Los Angeles Times, Racked LA, Today’s Vintage, Collector Magazine, Mondette, The Find, My Vintage Vogue and other media outlets have covered the Helms Design District Vintage Boutique hosted by Clever Vintage Clothing. Four shows will occur in 2011, each held the second Saturday of every third month (March 12, June 11, September 10 and December 10). Auntie Em’s Kitchen from the hip eastside neighborhood of Eagle Rock will continue to cater the event appropriately serving vintage boxed lunches and take home treats. The Helms Design District Vintage Boutique takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lightspace Studio located at 8755 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. (10 minutes from downtown, 40 minutes from Orange County, 30 minutes from Long Beach and 15 minutes from Santa Monica). Entry to the event is $5.00; however, 100 free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis via Eventbrite (http://helmsvintage.eventbrite.com/). Shoppers interested in attending should visit the show’s Facebook page: Helm's Design District Vintage Boutique. ABOUT CLEVER VINTAGE CLOTHING Clever Vintage Clothing launched in 1991 after its owner Dave C. Temple spent a lifetime inspired by vintage apparel and collected a garage full of great finds from across the United States. Temple eventually set up a showroom in downtown Los Angeles where customers of all kinds — designers, stylists, buyers, store owners, and vintage clothing collectors and enthusiasts — could find the vintage clothing they either personally wanted or needed for their business practices at a fair price with less hassle. It was a clever endeavor that has grown for over a decade and remains in its original downtown Los Angeles location.
