FRAM MING The understanding of how a steel building is to be constructed as well as the importance of hierarchal primary, secondary, and tertiary structures work in relation to one another. Understanding how to construct a steel framed building is essential in today’s construction. The requirements included: 1. 2. 3.
Roof must be either a one or two-way low sloping and overhang 3’-6’ on all sides There must be two cantilevered balconies Diagonal bracing used to stabilize against the wind loadsLadders will be used to access the unit: openings in floors

FRAM MING
This project highlighted the structural and technical aspects on how to construct a wood framed house. This project helped the understanding of how a wood frame building is constructed, how loads are distributed through wood, and how to deal with speciality situations such as a canilever.

My visitors center was revolved around the Tower House by Thomas Gluck. The Tower House was a fortress in the sky that allowed for a great view and a reverse vertical floor plan where the living room remained at the top and the bedrooms formed the stock of the house. The idea behind the visitors center was to create a structure that communicated my idea of vertical acension. The struggle with an already vertical-style structure was the fear of duplicating its original design. With that in mind I chose to create a structure that used a different language of diagonals and rigicity yet also shared some of the same characteristics that the Tower House ecompassed. The windows are created to redirect the audiences focus toward the grand view seen through the third floor glass window. To access the Tower House a wrap around observation deck has been integrated into the visitors center. Through the glazing system i was able to hone in on the same characteristics that the tower house comprised of -like that of the windowed stairwell, and allowed for visitors to experience the same view that the Tower House originally created as they ease up the stairwell.

COMPETITION BOOARDD The cabin project focused on captivating the visualization of an already made cabin. Through Rhino modeling, 3Ds-MAX, AutoCad, and Photoshop the cabin was virtually reconstructed and rendered. I chose to remake the Glass Cube Tree House by Tham & Videgård Architects. The designers wanted to build the cabin without making a footprint whilst engaging sustainable construction techniques. The tree house truly becomes an eco-resort reflecting the beauty of nature.
5
Hidden in the forrest camouflaged by the foliage of its surroundings visitors can come to this hide away spot and utilize the amenities that nature has to offer. The cube is accessible through a 39-foot rope bridge that criss crosses through the trees. In contrast to the icy mirrored exterior the visitors are immersed in warm tones of harvested wood as they enter the treehouse made for two. Within the interior fits a queen size bed, bathroom, living room, as well as a roof terrace to access a better view. Although hidden from the human eye this 13’ x 13’ cube is cladded with infrared film to prevent birds from flying into the glass facades.
