and the 8th! Did you know that the first Rainbow Flag was designed in 1978? The original version had eight stripes, each stripe was influenced by flags with multi colored stripes used by various left-winged causes and organizations in the San Francisco area in the 1960’s ( Pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sun, green for serenity with nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony and violet for spirit!) The flag then went to seven stripes and today it has six stripes and it is the flag that become popularized and is recognized by the International Congress of Flag Makers! So, let’s see who is swelling with Pride in Metraland!
