OMAN This film is a disturbing tale of torture and dirty little secrets that can haunt any seemingly harmless neighborhood. The story follows a successful country lawyer who captures and attempts to “civilize” the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast in the wilds for decades, thereby putting the lives of his family in extreme jeopardy. The film prompted furious debates and walkouts during its world premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Whether a “wonderful bizarre tale” or an “inhumane degradation of women” you’ll have to decide for yourself! A N O N Y M O U S This film is set in the political snake-pit of Elizabethan England, “Anonymous� speculates on an issue that has for centuries intrigued academics and brilliant minds ranging from Mark Twain and Charles Dickens to Henry James and Sigmund Freud, namely: who was the author of the plays credited to William Shakespeare? Experts have debated, books have been written, and scholars have devoted their lives to protecting or debunking theories surrounding the authorship of the most renowned works in English literature. Anonymous poses one possiable answer, focusing on a time when cloak-and-dagger political intrigue, illicit romances in the Royal Court, and the schemes of greedy nobles hungry for power of the throne were exposed in the most unlikely of places: the London stage.
