SHAME “SHAME” - An outwardly ordinary man must come to terms with his inner compulsions in this powerful drama, Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a successful businessman in his early 30’s who lives in New York City. Brandon seems cool and introverted, but inside he’s wrestling with a powerful sexual appetites; he’s obsessed with pornography and prefers short-term relationships that allow him to keep the world at arms length. The grim routine of Brandon’s life is upended when his sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) stops by for an extended visit without prior notice. While Brandon is reserved, Sissy is a musician, outgoing and flashy and a bit uninhibited, who doesn’t seem to care about her brother’s need for privacy. “OUTRAGE” - In this edgy gangster tale Takeshi Kitano returns to his roots as star and director. The Chairman (Solchiro Kitamura) is the head of the Sanno-kai crime family. Japan’s most powerful underworld syndicate, with his right hand man, Ikemoto (Jun Kunimura), handling much of the crew’s daily business. The Chairman’s greatest rival is Murase (Renji Ishibashi), whose operation has made its money in drug peddling while the Sanno-kai has been striving to move its operations into more legitimate schemes. The Chairman believes that Ikemoto has become too close to Murase for comfort, and he wants the two sides to distance themselves. Ikemoto, orders one of his mechanics, Otomo (Takeshi Kitano) to deliver a few reminders that the two gangs are on opposite sides and a private war escalates between the two sides.
