THE ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY OF JIMM “TUFFY” Tuffy: Time management, right now I’m juggling three jobs. Finding key locations, I have one spot that I love to use, however I have to keep my eyes open for coyotes! When I’m shooting outdoors setting up can be a little tricky the natural lighting is crucial, and we do live in Michigan and the weather can change in the blink of an eye! Question: We know you do many Out Flashin’ photos; does that help find some models? Tuffy: Most definitely! Going to all the events that Matra covers, helps me meet potential clientele. People are always asking me why I’m taking pictures, after I explain; they express an interest in getting involved. Questions: Has working for Metra helped in your career as a photographer? That’s what I did to Mary Matra’s office last year on April fool’s Day! And to my surprise I still work here. It might come back to bite me in the ass this year, but it was worth it to see the look on her face, and what a beautiful shade of reddish purple it was! So having said that, play a joke on April Fools Day before someone gets you first. Who played the first joke and the reason why the first day of April was designated still remains a mystery. April fool’s Day is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and observed in various countries as a day people play practical jokes on each other. A practical joke is a mischievous trick or joke played on someone, typically causing the victim to experience embarrassment, perplexity, confusion or discomfort. Oh ya, and in Mary’s case, pretty flipping mad! Being the witty and humorous person that I am, I have compiled a “Top Ten List” of my own pranks for the office (suck it Letterman two can play this game! #10. Tape a magnet to the bottom of a cup, put it on the roof of your car and drive to work. #9. Put shaving cream on the head set of someone’s phone. #8. Paint the tips of someone’s pens and pencils with clear nail polish so none of them work. #7. Place a small piece of post it note over the ball under someone’s computer mouse so that it won’t work. #6. Put red food coloring in the hand soap dispenser #5. Swap the signs on the men’s and woman’s rest rooms. #4.Switch around random keys on someone’s keyboard who isn’t a very good typist. #3.Bring multiple sets of cloths to work and change every hour and act like nothing is different. #2. Borrow someone’s cell phone and change the language setting to a foreign language. #1. Well, you know, wrap someone’s entire office in aluminum foil, or wrapping paper or news paper or whatever fits the occasion. Please be responsible, have fun, but do not do anything stupid that could physical harm someone. Let’s see who’s tricking who in METRA Land!
