Makeup is a way for us all to look good and feel good about our selves, only more confident in the enhanced natural. As makeup guru Bobbi Brown would say: an individual that is pretty powerful. The Art of Makeup is meant to magnify the beauty that already exists. The secret to being beautiful sometimes works from the outside looking in – and the idea is to get your makeup routine down to the point where it’s fast and easy. Beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin and the BEAUTIFUEL MINI MAKEUP MANUAL is a PINC Project dedicated to spark a light to help you discover your own kind of pretty.

INSTRUCTIONS Use and re-use this tool. Practice on a daily basis and remember, it's not about being perfect; it's about celebrating your own individuality.

SKINCARE

the process begins here

“Don’t be afraid to sparkle a little brighter, darling.” -Kirsten Kuehn

The best look is NATURAL and we all know it takes MAKEUP to LOOK NATURAL… but if you take the time to make your skin look good, you’ll find you actually don’t need to wear that much makeup after all! For youthful, glowing and radiant skin

eat well • cleanse well • moisturize everyday. Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices CAN help delay the natural aging process. And some key ingredients to keeping you looking good without the fountain of youth are:

OMEGA 3 Has anti-inflammatory properties that help limit skin irritation VITAMIN A & E Removes free radicals on the skin caused by too much sun exposure

CLEANSE WELL Use mild products. Stay away from harsh cleansers which can strip away the natural oil from your skin. WATER, WATER, WATER Keep your skin hydrated to maintain its elasticity.

MOISTURIZE For NORMAL SKIN, use a light moisturizing lotion. A hydrating cream or balm is best for DRY SKIN. For oily skin, use an oil-free formula. Hypoallergenic & fragrancefree products are suited for SENSITIVE SKIN.

A TIP FROM THE PRO After your basic skincare prep, use a primer before applying foundation to create a smooth base and help products wear better and last longer.

FACE SCULPTING When done well, sculpting can transform a face. It can recreate or enhance features with the use of highlights and shadows. • Highlights reflect light and brings features forward. Apply to the higher planes of the face that naturally catch the light – especially cheekbones and browbones. • Shadows absorbs light so it pushes back or recedes features. Best to only use matte finishes for shadows or contours.

NATURAL

GLOW

loose or pressed powder and blush application

Choosing the right powder

1

Choose a yellow toned powder closest to your skintone to give warmth to the skin, white powder is only for alabaster skin

2

To those with dry skin, use powder sparingly or only to set under-eye concealer

3 4

Finely milled powder are less likely to cake on skin

To blush and bloom: Use PEACH and APRICOT shades for versatility RED and BURGUNDY for deep skin and PINK shades for pale skin.

BROW

ANATOMY

the perfect brow shape “That’s why I began doing makeup in the first place. I was hoping that through helping people see the beauty in themselves, I could try and find that in me.” -Kevyn Aucion

STEP BY STEP BROW GUIDE The highest part of the arch (2) should be about two-thirds along the eye from the inner corner (1). Whatever your brow shape, this should always start just before the eyes and not after and remember to not start it TOO heavy so this doesn’t give an impression of a frown. The inner part of the brow should slope gently upward to the highest point of the arch and then taper down and out to the corner (3) being the lowest point of your eyebrow. 1

HOW TO 3

1

Define brow using brow pencil in the same shade of your hair

2

Fill in sparse brows using pencil and layer with powder

3

Use light feathery strokes for a more natural look to your eyebrow

ALL ABOUT

EYES

eye shadow, liner, and making your soul speak

YOUR EYESHADOW COLOR GUIDE will give you an idea about what tones work with what hues: SKIN COLOR PORCELAIN SKIN cool colors + silver + blue undertones

OLIVE SKIN gold + orange undertones + deep shades of plum

DEEP SKIN charcoal grey + darker tones + shimmer + highlighter

FAIR SKIN warm shades +silvery highlighter

EYE COLOR BROWN EYES purple + greens BLUE EYES orange tones + copper + terracotta + peach HAZEL EYES blue + violet + purple + red GREEN EYES red tones + pinks + violet + burgundy + plum

Always remember that you have the freedom to experiment and play with color. Express yourself in however way you see fit and choose the colors that best suit your mood. For eye shadow application here are some quick and easy steps to remember:

1 2 3

Apply the lightest shade of eye shadow color on the lid and below the brow bone. Dust medium eye shadow color on the crease. Contour color to the fleshy part of the lid to add more depth.

BLACK EYELINER is the secret to emphasizing the eyes. It makes the most impact. For a softer and more natural look, choose to use a dark brown color, which also works better for the day. Apply eyeliner really close to the upper lash line and if you want to use this on the lower lash line, make sure the top and bottom line meet at the corner of the eye area.

MASCARA

will give you that seductive lift you need to complement your eye makeup. It is important to curl your lashes before applying mascara otherwise you’ll risk breaking your lashes. Always curl lashes in three segments: at THE BASE, THE MIDDLE of the lash and at THE TIP of your lash line to perfect your NATURAL CURL.

PUCKER UP

BABY!

lip liner and lipstick “Lipstick is really magical. It holds more than a waxy bit of color – it holds the promise of a brilliant smile, a brilliant day, both literally and figuratively.” -Robert Gately

Use your own lip color as a guide to choose the perfect shade of lipstick. The most flattering of colors come in shades of PLUM, WINE shades, PEACH and brownish PINKS. To make that lipstick last longer, fill in lips with lip liner before application and for a more natural look, line the lips after applying lipstick and blend the hard edges.

Golden rules 1 2

Apply gloss to make your lips look fuller

3

Keep the rest of your makeup minimal if youre wearing a dramatic, bold lipstick

4

Never wear lipstick paler than your skin – it will make you look dead.

Light and bright lipsticks are flattering if you have a small mouth or thin lips

MASCULINE GROOMING Gone are the days when it was acceptable for a man to look like he just rolled out of bed. Because most men don’t really sit around playing with makeup, it’s not always easy to know how to look good. There are two things that are timeless: great advice and the appeal of a wellgroomed man.

MEN & MAKEUP Does the average guy need to wear makeup to go to work? No – but there are minimal measures one can take when and if they choose and still look totally natural: powder or 1 Bronzing warmth to the face

Here are 7 tips on how men can take things up a notch without looking “too done up”:

gel – to add
