Below is a transcription of this video – I wanted to share something interesting. I’ve wanted to cut down on sweets for quite a while and earlier this week, I thought I was having too much sugar.I had heard a story, I think it was a Gandhi story, where a father took his son to see Gandhi and his father told Gandhi, “He’s having too many sweets. What do you have to say to him?” Gandhi said, “Come back next week.” So the father goes away and they come back the next week. The father asked, “What advice do you have for my son?”


Gandhi says “Don’t eat sweets.” The father asked why he couldn’t give them that advice last week and Gandhi said “Well, last week I was eating sweets myself.” I share that story because I took that on for myself this week and I haven’t had sweets since I made that realization. I’ve wanted to cut back and I don’t think I had a problem, but I just wanted to cut back. It’s not that I couldn’t do it necessarily and it’s not that I didn’t have the right reason to do it, but it was something as small as wanting to have my daughter to cut down on sweets that got things in motion and deciding to cut back myself. It’s finding the right trigger with yourself to do what you want to do and that can make all the difference in the world.
