I basically shoot my videos in blocks and do batch processing and then I go off to my day job. When I come home from my day job and spend the rest of the day with my family, and typically I collapse at the end of the day because when my daughter falls asleep at about 10 o’clock – yep, my daughter goes to sleep at 10 o’clock – I collapse at the end of the day.
I share that because I don’t have a ton of time to do production of these videos, but the critical thing is you can create all these great videos and two things need to happen. People need to find them and they need to have a great experience when they get there. The beautiful thing about video is really the video is the centerpiece and it’s the key thing. You can write some text to contextualize it. I transcribe all the videos so it’s easier for the search engines to find and I put some nice titles so there’s a good user experience on there The key is that the video is the centerpiece of your marketing. It’s the most critical piece. It’s how people are going to get to know you the best, and it’s how you’re able to express things in the easiest way possible. People can create a connection through written word or through audio, but video’s – it’s not three-dimensional. I guess it’s two-dimensional, right? You’re seeing the person, hearing the person, experiencing their emotion and since we know 90-whatever the percentage is, that 95% of communication is nonverbal, the video is the centerpiece. You don’t have to worry about making the blog post perfect. You want to make them great, you want to make sure people have a great user experience that can transition into the next step, but they don’t have to be perfect. They don’t have to be perfect videos for them to actually work.
