When I get the opportunity to photograph live musicians I immediately get excited. I don't have to know who they are or what hits they may have written. I get excited about capturing their performance and learning more about them through their songs. It really doesn't matter to me what genre they are performing. I just listen to the words, and when they hit home to me, the goosebumps and sometimes tears come.

During one of the SoWal House Sessions events, I was documenting we were introduced to Jackson Rohm.

“Gasoline and Matches”, “Bleeding” and “Not Him Anymore” are my new favorites. Everyone who attended this performance could pick up a free Acoustic Sessions cd. I've been listening to it while driving around town. While playing it while driving to South Walton I discover his song "Six Feet Underground" and I felt like he was talking directly to me. The lyrics are on the right side of this page. Read them and let me know what you think the next time I see you.

Jackson's bio says "Now a husband and father living on Florida’s Emerald Coast, Jackson spends less time on tour and is focused on playing private event shows." If you hear that he is playing locally go check him out.

Six Feet Underground

Never been much for religion I don't believe in reincarnation either I put my faith in me, and what's in front of me You say How dare you! You'll end up in hell I swear to you Maybe that's better Who really knows? Open your eyes Open your eyes

CHORUS: It's hard to believe Because the minister says We'll be up in the clouds Forever after we're dead It's just hard to believe That I'll still be around For eternity When I'm six feet underground It's just a matter of time This temporary life And I can't lie to you I'm afraid to die I'm so twisted and misguided Could it be my fate's already decided? Maybe that's better Who really knows?

(REPEAT CHORUS) I've got to stop drinking in the day I've got to stop sleeping with all my friends I've got to stop carrying on this way Is there anyone there?

(REPEAT CHORUS 2X)
