LIGHT PAINTING
What Is Light Painting Light painting is when you control the light that enters the camera’s lens and use it to ‘paint’ something on the photograph. It’s usually done in low light situations and is a great way to create unique photographs which explore the endless possibilities of photography. There are an infinite number of ways to light paint, beginning with your source of light and ending with what you draw!

LOMO 8

Part exhibition, part experience, a Lomo Wall is the sum total of thousands of Lomographs taken by Lomographers from every corner of the globe. So far we’ve built LomoWalls in many a far flung place, for example, the Photokina in Cologne; Trafalgar Square, London; Beijing, MOMA in New York.

JEANSMAN Tell us a little about yourself... I’ve been a Lomographer since 2003. I realize my ideas through Lomography cameras. How did you first discover the Diana F+? In 2003, I checked out some information about Lomography cameras on the internet. I saw that they produce funny plastic cameras and that was my first discovery of this cutie. Diana F+ photos are really impressive! Describe the Diana F+ in 5 words Creative – Vignettes – Friendly – Amazing - Archaeology What’s your favorite feature of the Diana F+ and why? So far, I love the pinhole mode because I can take photos even whilst I’m sleeping! If you could shoot any subject with the Diana F+, who or what would it be? Portraits, especially of my friends and family - They are the most important people in my life. Do you have any advice for Diana newcomers? The Diana F+ has many features. Just try it and experiment! It rewards you with a truly valuable experience.

SHOUJOAI Tell us a little about yourself... I’m a 29 year old girl from Düsseldorf, Germany. I work as a software engineer and travel a lot, which allows me luckily to see many different places. I like analogue photography, comic books, sushi... and what I like most, of course, is my muse! How did you first discover the Diana F+? Two years ago, when I first saw the Diana F+ Snowcat, I fell for her. Since then I’ve been a passionate Lomographer. I discovered her on the internet - This is where I first read the word “Lomography” and was trying to figure out what it is. When I got Diana, it still took a while until I was as used to her as I am today. I started out shooting color negative films with the 35mm back, but after many films I figured out that the most beautiful results are those with 120 crossed-processed slide films. Describe the Diana F+ in 5 words Beautiful, vignetted, light, diva, plastic What’s your favorite feature of the Diana F+ and why? That’s difficult to decide... is it, that she is light that I can carry her around all the time? I know other photographers with huge digital cameras who are killing themselves by carrying them around all the time. But I think my favorite feature must be the plastic lens; it allows me a completely different view of the world. If you could shoot any subject with the Diana F+, who or what would it be? I always love thunderstorms! I haven’t had chance to capture one with the Diana F+ yet. My favorite subject would be a thunderstorm in the background and another great subject in the foreground. And I think I’d use a Velvia or Astia film for it. Do you have any advice for Diana newcomers? Don’t give up when the first results does not meet your expectations. You need some time to get to know Diana. She doesn’t have many setting options, only the aperture, the shutter speed from ‘N’ to ‘B’ and the distance setting - Get to know those features, then she won’t not disappoint you! And try some great films, like different slide films, or infrared film if you can get some. Diana is a powerful camera, but the film is also one of the most important parts! By the way - You can also get great vignettes when shooting a 100 ISO film on a sunny day with the cloud setting.
