Working in partnership with local authorities, in this case Fingal County Council, the organisation provides social housing to those nn the waiting list. The announcement came on the back of substantial renovation works to the five social housing units. The development marks the first stock transfer between Cluid and Fingal County Council. After receiving the keys to his new home, tenant John Durkan said: “I am the happiest man in Ireland, particularly given the current housing situation where people can’t even get into hostels at the moment. “I just can't believe how lucky I am. I will never be able to thank Cluid enough for what they’ve given me. I had never even heard of them before I was offered the house.” Local councilor Brian McDonagh (Labour) said he was very impressed with the standard of work on the houses. “The houses look fantastic and are a great addition to the local community," stated Cllr McDonagh. “There is a shortage of affordable housing in this area but it’s fantastic to see developments like this coming to fruition. “I hope this will be the first of many developments of this kind.”
