REBA PLACE- EVANSTON RFP SUBMISSION SOUTH BOULEVARD, EVANSTON, IL
Under supervision of Todd Zima, MKB Architects Affordable, mixed income residential housing proposal for an RFP by the City of Evanston. The project included multifamily housing units supported by public program for education, working with non-profit organization Reba Place. Drafted unit plans in accordance with IDHA required minimum dimensions and supporting facade mockups.

This built object amplifies a compelling relationship with Maus, a graphic narration of World War II,
and
the
internal
impact
made
between
the reader and the characters of the novel themselves. More than providing storage, the object physically manifests the emotional piercing of the heart when reacting to the contents of the book, forcing one to experience empahty.

Chicago’s Northerly Island fills all of the five sensesthe wind in one’s ears, the smell of the lake and salt, the crunch of gravel and debris as one scales the large rocks. A shelter was proposed to be placed at the farthest edge of the site, to emulate the debris and ice cracking along the shoreline.
