What is a greenway? A “greenway is a park-like biking and walking trail that people can use for transportation and recreation. The greeway is intended to create a new amenity for families in North Minneapolis. It could also create space for community gardens and public art.

This map shows a proposal for converting low-traffic residential streets into a greenway in north Minneapolis. In most places, the proposed greenway would provide a park-like trail that increases space for pedestrians and bicyclists while reducing or eliminating motorized traffic and parking. In some cases, extra green space Loring Victory would allow for new amenities, like community Park Elementary School gardens, pocket parks, or public art.
