For this event, golfers will play two balls. Each shot, the player chooses the better ball to play until the ball is holed. Please register at the Banyan Tree Pro Shop by Thursday, 5 January.

This is an 18-hole, 2-person scramble event. Prizes and cookout after the event. Each player will only use 3 clubs of their choosing for all 18 holes. Sharing of the clubs with partner will not be allowed. Field is limited to 36 players. Kadena Cup points will be awarded for this event!

As the new year rolls around, so does our motivation and dedication to start fresh and develop our very own New Year’s resolutions. We use the New Year as the perfect opportunity for new beginnings and a chance to improve ourselves in ways we couldn’t accomplish from the year prior. Admittedly, only a few of us actually complete them by the end of the year. This can be due to not having a plan on how to tackle the matter, not taking full accountability for our actions, or not having the assistance needed to get started. This 2023, accomplish your resolutions with FSS facilities by your side. Set yourself up for success with the various classes they offer from fi tness classes, art classes to diving classes offered by various facilities all over base. Kadena’s FSS facilities are just one stepping stone you need to carry out this mission with fl ying colors. The following is a list of classes you can enhance on or learn this New Year.

Working out is one of the most common New Year’s resolutions many people commit themselves to and this year, the Risner Fitness Center is offering you a chance to start your resolution off on the right track. Learn new skills and test your limit with their Tactical Fit Camp all through January. Master your proper form with cardinal exercises and test your general physical capacities. This is perfect for those who want to improve their Physical Training scores or improve more than one tactical performance zone simultaneously. If you want to get back in shape after having a baby, their Pregnancy/Postpartum Fit Camp is for you! Here you’ll learn skills that will help with your physical and psychological well-being through calisthenics, pelvic fl oor and core exercises, resistance training, and more. Kadena Aquatics

Knowing how to swim in Okinawa is a good skill to have as it allows you to explore the underwater world with its stunning seascapes. So head over to the Kadena Aquatics to get not only your swimming lessons started, but also for your little ones. Their swim lessons range from parent and child, preschool, levels 1 to 6 swim series, to private lessons. Each category consists of learning different skills appropriate for your age level and swimming abilities. Swimming for fun is one thing, but using your skills to save lives is another. The Kadena Aquatics also offers a Lifeguard Course that will get you started on your dream job. Their lifeguard instructors will train you to be the best and help you develop the skills needed to receive your American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifi cation. Accomplish your resolutions with FSS facilities by your side

Arts & Crafts

Embark on your new and old artistic resolutions with classes from Arts & Crafts such as their basic woodworking course and basic framing class. For only $45 plus materials, this four-session woodworking course will teach you practical application, proper and safe use of equipment, and basic construction techniques by building a seven-piece step stool that you get to keep for yourself. You “wood” not want to miss this! If you’re not into woodworking, they’ve got another class for you! Begin your do-it-yourself journey with their two-session basic framing class where you’ll learn how to build an original frame – from selecting and cutting mats, cutting glass and acrylic glazing, to cutting and joining frames.
