Message from the EDITOR I think that the most important thing a woman can havenext to talent, of course- is her hairdresser - Joan Crawford

A

s we get closer to the end of the year, many of us decide to look back to what our new year’s resolutions were and if they were in the circles of losing some weight, keeping fit, changing the look, that is the hair style and learning to invest in our beauty, but it is never too late to start on that diet you have always wanted to try out, to try out that hair style, Afrodite Magazine has a lot lined up for our readers, we believe it will be a rollercoaster for you. Afrodite magazine is all about how you treat yourself as a lady and a gentleman concerning skin, hair, and body issues , but to top it all up, it is also looking at the student, or person that wants to become a beauty professional, you will find inspiration testimonies and lessons in every article. A phenomenal marriage that will take you away, and get you thinking, A pictorial lined up to show you the special and nice hair-dos The magazine is well laid out for you to

feast your eyes on and get to learn some new things that you did not know about. Use the right materials to help you stand out. As women we should always remember that beauty is not only defined by what we wear, how we brush our hair but the character that we portray in society adds onto it. “For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.  For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.  For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.  For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.    People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”

UHABA organizes Worker’sPAS training and assessment workshop Uganda Hair and beauty Alliance (UHABA) has become pivotal in the Hair and beauty industry and there are a series of activities conducted to ensure the growth of the industry. The recent “Worker’sPAS training and assessment workshop“ which took place between 20th -31stMay 2013 was engineered to compact the skill-gaps for 15 Hairdressers The two weeks training comprised different modules like Hygiene & Safety, Product Knowledge, Customer Care and Practical Sessions and was enriched with lectures from representatives of KCCA and UNBS. UHABA’s ultimate objective of the training is to sensitize and provide capacity building in terms of information sharing and skills training to the practitioners in the Beauty industry so as to raise their income and employability, considering the stiff competition that they

Knowing that professionalizing the Beauty Industry cuts across aspects like salon ecology, sanitation and Hygiene, customer care, product knowledge and application, the trainees where educated in details about all the above aspects so that they may be agents of change in their respective places of work. It is during these educational sessions that stakeholders like KCCA, UNBS asserted what they expect from the practitioners for the improvement of the industry and it is on record that KCCA assesses adequacy not perfection, Miss Janet an Inspector from KCCA, public health Directorate emphasized. By the end of the two weeks training the trainees went through the Worker’sPAS assessment organized by UGAPRIVI (The Ugandan Association of Private Vocational Institutions). The Worker’sPAS is a new certification for people who never had the chance to pass a formal vocational education and therefore lack the necessary documentation to prove that they are skilled. During two days the candidates demonstrated their skills under observation of experienced and specially trained Hairdressing Experts. We are glad to report that all the participants passed the tests and will receive this new certification that is approved by the Ministry of Education

& Sport and its department DIT (Directorate for Industrial Training).The awarding of the Worker’sPAS at the end of such training and assessment is a significant indicator that the Hair Dresser will be hand in gloves with the certified skills that are duly stamped in their individual Worker’sPAS. With the recognition of such a certification by the Government, we envisage that more entrepreneurs will be unearthed from the informal thus bridging the gap between the formal and informal learning. The participants and new Worker’sPAS holders agreed that the training was a success and recommended to organize more training of this kind so that more Hairdressers can benefit. The training was co-funded by the European Union and Swisscontact. Just because it’s curly doesn’t mean it’s coarse and just because it’s wavy doesn’t mean it’s curly. Not only does this mean you could well be caring for your hair inappropriately, it also results in incorrect product usage and unnecessary purchases.

Hair

Coarse hair

This is a thicker strand and will be rough to the touch. It may even have a curl or may be straight because of the weight if it’s very thick. It’s not always that coarse hair is thick, but rather that the texture might be really frizzy and will feel bumpy when you run your fingers up and down the strand. Styling may take longer because of the natural volume and frizz that comes along with having thicker hair, but not to worry: this type of hair can usually handle straightening or coloring agents quite well and with the right care, it’ll be easy to handle.

Medium hair The most coveted of the lot, medium hair is usually wavy, not very dry or oily and can be very manageable. The strand will feel smoother than coarse hair and is usually thicker in density. There isn’t always a lot of frizz and styling may be halted by a simple issue: too much hair! It’s often a lot easier to style and treat with either color or just a mask. The best way to know if your hair is medium is be feeling the density of the strand. It’s not necessarily stronger than fine hair but it may feel slightly rougher.

I

Fine hair f you think your hair is fine, the correct way to check is to take a small strand of hair and estimate the texture from there. If it feels fine and fly away then your hair would be considered fine. There is also often very fine “baby” hair in the hairline which may feel like breakage. Often women with fine hair have lots of hair and this can be misinterpreted as thick or medium hair. However, be aware of how quickly your hair absorbs product. If you end up looking like a wet chicken after applying a product, then that too is an indication of fine hair.

Natural hair Ethnic hair usually has a very tight curl, is darker in color and feels almost spongy to the touch. It can be incredibly fine. A chemical straightener can make styling easier. Of course, color is restricted because despite the fact that it may be easy to relax or straighten ethnic hair, the ammonia in tints and bleaches cause the hair to deteriorate rapidly and break. Color shampoos are the best bet for anyone with ethnic hair who wants to tint it. Ethnic hair is also naturally dry and needs constant care. Products rich in moisture will serve well to protect and keep hair healthy and hair oils are a good bet in keeping frizz at bay. Courtesy of internet,

our cheekbones are your most prominent feature. Your forehead and jaw line are on the narrow side and are approximately the same width. Show off your striking bone structure with hairstyles that add width to the chin area such as classic bobs or shoulder length layered styles. When parting your hair, opt for a side-part as it will soften your face. Most ponytails and up do’s will suit a diamond face shape. Avoid: Short fringes and shorter hairstyles that add height on top of your head.

Heart

your forehead and cheekbones are wider than your jaw line giving your chin a pointy appearance. Create the illusion of balance between the top and bottom of your face by introducing curls and waves around the cheekbone area. You can have a fringe; however, it is best worn long and side-swept. A shoulder length style is suitable and can be extra flattering if layered slightly. Avoid: Heavy fringes and sleek jaw-length bobs as they will make your chin appear narrower.

Oblong your face is longer than it is wide and your chin is slightly pointy. Shorten the appearance of your face with a mid-length or long cut that introduces layers at eye level. A long, side-swept fringe also creates the illusion of a wider face. The key to any hairstyle for an oblong face shape is to create width with curls, deep partings and layers.

Avoid: Blunt bobs, top knot buns and long straight hair in a middle parting as these will make your face appear longer.

Oval

this is the most common face shape and is often placed on a pedestal as the “perfect” face shape. The length of your face is roughly equal to one and a half times its width. With such great proportions most hairstyles will suit you – short, long, layered, curled, with or without a fringe – anything goes. In order to get the most out of your hairstyle, consider your best features and style your hair to accentuate these areas.

Round

your cheekbones are your most prominent feature and the length and width of your face are roughly the same. Choose hairstyles that soften your face such as feathered / layered styles as well as soft waves that fall onto the face. Up do’s are best worn with loose tendrils of hair that fall around the hairline. When selecting a parting, opt for a deep side-parting to create the illusion of a less rounded face. Short pixie cuts are flattering as they create additional volume and elongate the appearance of the face.

Avoid: Blunt bobs that accentuate roundness and sleek styles.

Square

Your jaw line and forehead are the same width and your jaw is the most prominent feature on your face. Soften a strong jaw line with medium to long hairstyles (straight, curly and wavy). Adding layers / feathering will also assist in drawing attention away from your jaw line as it will create width to your face.

Avoid: Blunt cuts that stop at the widest part of your face as well as long straight fringes. These will accentuate your jaw and create a “boxy” appearance.

P

Clean your skin regularly;

ick products made for your skin type (oily, dry, combination, normal) in order to achieve the best results. Wash your face no more than two times a day; in the morning and before you go to bed. Be gentle. If you scrub really hard you will only irritate your skin. Don’t ever sleep with your make-up on. Your pores will get clogged and you’ll start breaking out. After washing your face, use a good moisturizer that is made for your skin type. If you have blackheads or whiteheads, try using a cleanser.

Groom yourself;

Wash your hair as often as needed. Don’t let it get greasy. Use deodorant. Moisturize your skin daily. It’s best to do this after you shower because your skin is still damp and the lotion will soak in easily. Grooming your nails is also important. Keep them cut short and buff them once every couple of weeks to keep them smooth and nice. Push back your cuticles to prevent hangnails. Don’t ever cut them! If you like nail polish, try using a sheer pink color or clear coat them. If you use a sheer pink color, use one coat so the natural color variations of your nails show through. It really does look nice.

Fix your hair;

When getting your hair cut, make sure you know exactly what you want. If you’re not sure then ask your hairdresser for a cut that will go with your face shape. Don’t dye your hair; keep it natural. If you must, find a color that’s close to your natural color, only better. Try not to use heat devices to style your hair. You can look up tutorials on curling or straightening your hair without heat on YouTube. Don’t spend a ton of time styling your hair. The whole point is to bring out your natural beauty. Find a way to rock your natural style.

Apply some make up;

Find your favorite facial feature and capitalize it. But don’t overdo it if you go one day without all the makeup everybody will notice and their thoughts won’t be very good. If your teeth aren’t as white as they could be, don’t wear bright lipstick. This will draw attention to the contrast. Instead, for example, wear dark mascara. This will bring out the intensity and beauty of your eyes.

little pleasures allow you to feel special. You can fake it if you need to until you actually feel deserving of it. Whatever you choose, follow the action by writing down what you did and how it made you feel. Make it your own “attitude file”. Include stories, quotes from friends and photographs that have made you feel good about yourself.

Project your beauty;

Feel good, feel pretty and that’s what the world will see. If you feel ugly, that’s what people will see. Try to look as good as you can. There are ways to live in beauty without being obsessive about it.

Find supportive friends.

What people say, whether intentional or not, make us feel good or bad about ourselves. Look for people who make you feel good when you’re down. This person will give you compliments. If you’ve done something different or if you’re wearing something new, they will notice it. Keep these compliments and they will build your self esteem.

Listen to your inner voice;

Feel good, feel pretty and that’s what the world will see. If you feel ugly, that’s what people will see. Try to look as good as you can. There are ways to live in beauty without being obsessive about it

Each of us has a voice inside our head that will give us advice. This is like a therapist. It will guide us in the right direction. It will calm us down, cheer us up and even help us figure out why we’re overeating or not bothering to iron our clothes. The problem is that we often don’t take the time we need to hear this important information. Schedule some quiet time in a leisurely bath or walk, or even while putting on your make-up. Treat this intuition as an inner cheering section.

Relax;

At least twice a day, set aside five minutes to recheck your make-up, hair, posture and clothing. No matter how impeccably you started out your day, a touch is both necessary and warranted. Take some deep breaths to renew and restore your appearance. Smile you look confident and pretty.

First intercultural royal wedding in Bukoba, Tanzania By Priscilla Muhairwe

History was made in Bukoba, Tanzania; as their Princess traditionally got married to her British fiancée. When cultures merge a long lasting union is made, enriching both cultures. This was an extra ordinary ceremony with different cultures coming together to see and welcome a princess into their family.

“A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.” ― Dave Meurer

n the 14th of September 2013, a perfect union was made between Mr. Thomas Smith and Princess Veronica Rogers Karunde of Bukoba Tanzania. A princess with parents coming from different countries and different cultures, followed in line when she decided and accepted to form a union with a British man. Looking radiant and beautiful in her royal blue and golden kinyankole traditional wear, the bride and her entourage gracefully walked into the tent, with her arm around her brother’s arm, they led the way to what was to be the start of her new life. The entourage looked both royal and elegant walking to the music of the hymns that were sung by those that had gathered to witness the ceremony. The day was truly a blissful one, with a little disruption from the rain that delayed the function, as many would put it; it would be perceived as a shower of blessings for the day. The entertainment provided by the Bukoba dancers “Abanyambiliga” was spectacular a lot of energy reflected in each step of the dance, keeping some of the audience not only on their toes but on their feet too as they joined the dancers on the dance floor. The ceremony started with a service, in which the reverend urged the couple

to hold unto the lord and rely on him for a peaceful marriage, reminding them, mostly Princess Veronica of what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians 5:22, “A wife to submit to their husbands as to the Lord.” He also urged Thomas to respect and love Princess Veronica as it is in the bible, with such a foundation their marriage will grow stronger. The modern- traditional ceremony gathered a big group of relatives from Uganda, Britain and Bukoba including the royals of Bukoba. The mixture of cultures, made the event more colorful, four different languages were used to ease with the communication, which is English, Runyankole, Ruhaya and Kiswahili. Emotions clouded the faces of the relatives and friends as Prince and Princess Rogers gave a speech about their daughter, it was quite intimate and like the father put it, it was a private ceremony for them with friends and relatives coming together to witness the give away of their daughter. Letting go of a daughter is hard enough but letting go of the one and only daughter is tougher. The prince could not hold back what had been troubling him knowing that his one and only daughter was to be taken away from him, he asked Thomas to take good care of his daughter and reminded him of how lucky he was to have his daughter as his wife. The father said that he planned to see that the daughter was seen by his community as she becomes a wife. He thanked the daughter for being a good child and daughter to him, Prince Rogers encouraged the daughter not to ever turn away from God. Prince Rogers gave the couple 100 cows to begin their married life; he did this not only because it was his place as a father to give the daughter and son in law a send off gift but also because his father in law did the same for him 30th November - December 2013

when he married his wife in Ankole. He did not have much but his father in law blessed him and in this he grew the spirit of giving, which he urged the couple to do. After the speech the “Okuhingira” give away was done, the father with the help of the mother gave the daughter to the groom who stood besides the mother- in- law (Princess Marie Rogers) to be united to his wife as tradition needed it. Later was the “Okulagiza” giving of gifts a traditional ceremony done by the Bahaya of Bukoba, the bride received a bible from her aunt. The groom received a drum from the royals of Bukoba and omugamba from Ankole which includes “ebyanzi” used to drink milk from, “ekishabo” milk gourd and a brush used to clean a cow “Enkuyo”.

“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, and the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.” ― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Healthy diet:

Getting it right, Use this guide to help plan your healthy diet. If you have high blood pressure, heart disease or other conditions, ask your doctor or dietitian if you need to adjust any of these recommendations.

Carbohydrates

C

arbohydrates are your body’s main energy source. And your brain is fueled by carbohydrates. Carbohydrates occur in a variety of forms: simple sugars, more complex starches and fiber. They are found naturally in legumes, grains, vegetables, fruits and milk. They’re also added to baked

goods and many other foods. Recommendation: Emphasize natural, nutrient-dense carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, and whole grains. Limit less healthy sugar-sweetened beverages, desserts and refined grain products. Get 45 to 65 percent of your daily calories from carbohydrates. Carbohydrates have 4 calories a gram. Based on a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, this amounts to 900 to 1,300 calories a day,

or about 225 to 325 grams.

Fiber

Fiber is the part of plant-based foods that your body doesn’t digest and absorb. There are two basic types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber may help improve your cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Oats, dried beans and some fruits, such as apples and oranges, are good sources of soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber adds

bulk to your stool and can help prevent constipation. Vegetables, wheat bran and other whole grains are good sources of insoluble fiber.

Recommendation:

Emphasize whole-grain products, fruits, vegetables, beans and peas, and unsalted nuts and seeds. If you’re a woman, get about 22 to 28 grams of fiber a day. If you’re a man, get about 28 to 34 grams of fiber a day.

Sugar

All sugar, whether natural or processed, is a type of carbohydrate that your body uses for energy. Sugar occurs naturally in some foods, including fruits, vegetables, milk and some grains. Sugar is also added to foods and beverages. These added sugars do little more than add calories to your diet. Many processed foods that have added sugar also contain solid fats.

Recommendation:

Cut back on calories from added sugar and solid fats. For most people, that means cutting their intake to no more than 5 to 15 percent of total calories. (Consider that 13 percent of a 2,000-calorie diet is about 260 calories a day.) Limit table sugar, desserts, pizza, sausages and similar fatty meats, sweetened beverages, candy, stick margarine and butter.

Protein

Protein is an important nutrient, essential for growth and development. All the cells of your body include protein. Protein is also an important source of calories and energy. Both plant-based and animalbased foods provide protein.

Recommendation:

Emphasize plant sources of protein, such as beans, lentils, soy products and unsalted nuts. These high-protein foods have the added bonus of being higher in health-enhancing nutrients than are animal sources of protein. Eat seafood twice a week. Meat, poultry and dairy products should be lean or low fat. Get 10 to 35 percent of your total daily calories from protein. Protein has 4 calories a gram. Based on a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, this amounts to about 200 to 700 calories a day, or about 50 to 175 grams a day.

Total fat Protein is an important nutrient, essential for growth and development. All the cells of your body include protein. Protein is also an important source of calories and energy. Both plant-based and animal-based foods provide protein.

Fats aren’t necessarily bad for you. Dietary fat is a nutrient that helps your body absorb essential vitamins, maintains the structure and function of cell membranes, and helps keep your immune system working. Some types of fat, though, may increase your risk of heart disease and other health problems. Fat also has a lot of calories, increasing the risk of weight gain.

Recommendation:

Emphasize unsaturated fats from healthier sources, such as lean poultry, fish and healthy oils, such as olive, canola and nut oils. Limit less healthy full-fat dairy products, desserts, pizza, burgers, sausages and other fatty meats. To keep fat at bay, limit all sources of fat to 20 to 35 percent of your daily calories. Fat has 9 calories a gram. Based on a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, this amounts to about 400 to 700 calories a day, or about 44 to 78 grams of total fat.

by Nssali Josephine ike many youths who leave the village in search of greener pastures, Jeff Musingunzi followed suit, luckily he landed himself a job at PR laboratories in Lubowa, Later he moved on as a cleaner at the beauty salon PR Naturals, where he picked an interest in hair dressing, His boss encouraged him to try it out and concentrate on the passion he had just discovered. This was during the two year period he was working at the salon PR Naturals. He was then pushed onto the sister beauty salon Trends salon in Garden city to explore his passion and create a network of clients by himself, which he has been able to do for the two years he has worked at the beauty salon. “The only way I was able to accomplish my dream and take it onto another level was to shut out all the negative comments from people.” Musingunzi says, Four years have gone by and he is still building his dream, with endurance and a lot of hard work, he has no regrets for following the hair dressing profession because it has paid for him and his family’s well-being. “With the experience I have, I ensure quality service for my clients, the value for money that satisfies them. He continues to say, “Through proper communication and good customer service I have built a “mountain” of clients” He has been able to work on a whole family as his clients, he also receives good comments and appreciation from his clients this is what keeps him going and enables him to improve on his hair styling. He is comfortable with his profession; he has attended a workshop called the Worker’s PAS, which entails recognition and certification of one’s skills and competences, it is the worker’s practically acquired skills. Musingunzi works on both men and women, and he believes he is good at it, given that his clients cannot let anyone else work on them other than him, which pleases him. “Hair dressing is like fine art, with every design, there is some creativity and new invention incorporated into it. Hair styling is an art that needs full attention and love for it.” Says, Jeff Musingunzi He encourages fellow youth who have a passion for hair dressing not to let go of it but work hard at it and build onto it. When it comes to grooming their hair, men often feel they’ve got the short end of the stick. But there’s so much you can do with your hair, simply by working with what you’ve got. The trend at the moment is most definitely steered towards a more groomed vintage gentleman’s cut that can work for most hair types and textures,’

Thin hair

Oily hair

If you cut your hair in a shorter style it will definitely appear thicker and fuller. For thinning hair Red ken has an amazing range called IntraForce. Another great product for men with fine or thinning hair is Densify Texturising Shampoo by Redken.

Style tips Dos and don’ts To understand the color wheel and col-

ors that match or perhaps more importantly don’t match. Think of the primary colors blue, red and yellow. Halfway between red and yellow will be orange, yellow and blue will be green, blue and red will be purple. From there you can fill in the colors of the rain bow. Decide if you’re going to select a color block ensemble with complementary colors (choosing from the shades of the opposite sides of the wheel). You can pair dazzling colors (hot pink with neutral shade or use fluorescent colors or neon colors to prake under stated tones. As you see the possibilities are almost endless allowing you to color block your wardrobe regardless of season and it can be done with matching separates with a skirt or pants. Just be sure you match your skin tone. Most color blocks are done horizontally which doesn’t have a slimming effect. Obviously this favors more petite or proportioned it is something to keep in mind if you are conscious about your size. Another option is to use prints that color block vertically. For example if you suggest a vibrant jacket and flats will ensure no one focuses on hips and thighs. They also suggest that there is indeed a magic number encouraging a trio of shades to bring everything together but however resist the temptation to go with more than four blocks. Accessories particularly a big belt, chunky jewelry and eye catching shoes are an ideal way to take color blocking to another level, bright clothing like scarves ,rosettes can spice up color blocks ensemble. Most importantly have fun and experiment to see what best works for you.

8 Things to consider when choosing a gym, By Brenda Busingye

A

gym is a membership organization that provides a wide range of facilities designed to improve and maintain physical fitness and health. It is a mental frame supporting equipment used in outdoor play. Finding a right gym is a lot like finding a restaurant. A good gym will fit your unique personality and motivate you to come back and exercise on a regular basis. Unlike a restaurant, joining a gym is a financial commitment, so it’s even more important that you research before signing on a dotted line. When choosing a particular gym take a tour and come up with a list of questions you want answered. More often than not, the staff will give you a free day pass as you try out the equipment, classes and other amenities firsthand. Other than a free work out, there is a key criterion to consider before signing a long term contract. Keep these questions in mind. Are trainers qualified? What is their peak time? How do classes work? AFRODITE

Q&A

How to pick the right Shampoo for your hair Questions and Answers with Margueritte Tandekwire Before you pick a shampoo for your hair, you have to put a couple of things into consideration. Your scalp condition, Your hair type, Is your hair chemically treated? Do you have any allergies?

C

onsider the condition of your scalp, because whatever you put on your hair will definitely get on your scalp. For example if you have dry scalp, you should look for a hydrating, moisturizing and soothing shampoo. That will help the hair because you will get the benefit for both the scalp and your hair. Most times when your hair is chemically treated, this means if it is relaxed, curled or colored, these chemicals tend to rob your hair of natural oils and that leaves your hair brittle and dry. Another problem people tend to over look is allergy reactions due to different chemicals in shampoos, most shampoos have color and fragrance in them, avoid these ingredients and go for plain shampoos. Always read the ingredients of the bottle before you proceed to use the shampoo, and if you don’t know what that means consult your hairdresser. Learn to use your shampoo by following instructions on the label and follow with a suitable conditioner for your hair and scalp type.

How to pick the right conditioner for your hair, Conditioners are extremely important to the hair; conditioning hair should follow after shampooing the hair. AFRODITE

Just like shampoo, they also come in different forms and for different types of hair. It is best to know your hair type. If your hair is dry or chemically treated, look for a conditioner that will trap moisture, close and mend those open cuticles of your hair and make it smooth and manageable. Conditioners include Hair treatment conditioners, hair rinses, leave-ins, all these work differently. Treatments work on both your scalp and your hair and mend the damaged parts of the hair, moisturize

both hair and scalp. Rinses work for normal hair that can be used soon after shampooing and can be massaged in for a few minutes and then rinsed out. It gives hair smoothness and shine. That can be followed by leave in conditioners which are not rinsed out.

SKIN: How to reduce on face acne

Acne (Vulgaris) is a skin condition caused by excessive secretion of oil glands, it is a very uncomfortable condition that has been treated poorly by individuals without medical guidance, and this is common in teenagers. It appears mainly around the areas of the face, neck and chest. Hormones are responsible for the formation of acne, but it can be controlled by the way we live and mainly how we deal with the condition.

How to deal with it,

Washing your face more frequently would help, so that dust and dirt does not settle on the oily face to cause infection. Watch what you eat, especially by avoiding fatty, junk foods and frizzy drinks. In some cases, acne can be hereditary and stress related. Keep your face clean and keep your hands off your face, don’t pick on the break-out on your face. Seek medical attention from a professional doctor.
