Contradicting Alterations Museum Design- Fall 2016

“We work together to move forward. We work together to create a world that has not yet existed”-Sean Martorana “My Mind is at war and I am addicted to creativity.”- Sean Martorana My museum design features two different types of street art from two artists. The first artist, Sean Martorana creates wall murals by using his own stencils, he also does jewelry and textile design, and small prints. The second artist, Paige Smith creates geodes out of paper and metal and displays them in the side of decaying buildings. She also does graphic design for companies all over the United States. The design takes the original structure and alters it by using a majority of the same existing angles and contradicts them with new angles. This plays off of the art work and the mentality that both artist go by. I took something that already exist and altered it to make something new in the existing environment.

Studio Apartment Advanced Visualizations- Fall 2016

Programs used: Sketchup, 3ds Max, Photoshop The focus in this class was to use various programs to model spaces and produce final renderings of the 3d spaces. My studio apartment was modeled in sketchup. I then took it into 3ds Max to do the final renderings, and did minor touch-ups in photoshop.

Farnsworth House

Advanced Visualizations- Fall 2016

Programs used: Revit, Photoshop I took the floor plans of the Farnsworth House and modeled the structure in Revit. I also modeled most of the custom elements in Revit. For the final renderings I used Revit and I created my own seamless textures using photoshop.

Bookstore Designed for an outdoors-man client who enjoys mountain hiking, climbing, waterfall diving, and cave exploring. The concept for the design was to create a bookstore that incorporates a sense of adventure by using cave inspired walls and elements. The bookstore is located in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia and consists of a cafe, bike storage, and access to and from the tow path.

GOALS AND

ASPIRATIONS Now that I am graduating Philadelphia University I will be starting a new adventure, and with that comes many goals. Now that I’m graduating Philadelphia University, I will be starting a new adventure, and with that comes many goals. Over the next five years I have many goals I intend to meet. Graduating college is a huge goal I set for myself many years ago. It’s quite intimidating knowing that I’ve had this goal since I started Preschool. I’m happy to know that my hard work and dedication throughout the years are finally starting to pay off. In my professional life, I would like to gain more expertise and knowledge as an Interior Designer. I plan to receive my Leed accreditation and become an NCIDQ certified Interior Designer by the Spring of 2018. At the five-year mark, I plan to return to school part-time and get my Masters in Interior Architecture.

In my personal life, I will be an active member of society and continue to keep close to my roots of running and competing on a team. I competed for my high school, and now my collegiate team in cross country running and track for 9 years. I would love to continue pursuing an active lifestyle through running and competing for charity races. The beginning of 2017, I set forth to start living a more sustainable lifestyle, and eliminated trash everywhere I could. I now live an almost zerowaste lifestyle, which is decreasing my overall carbon footprint. I hope to inspire others and bring awareness towards an ever growing problem within our society and world. I look forward to what my future brings, and know that I can accomplish anything I set out to do if I work hard and put my mind to it.
