THE GORAL FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A MUSEUM WHICH IS FUNCTIONAL, PRACTICAL AND ACCESSIBLE . TO BE SHARED SIMULTANEOUSLY BY ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF USERS WITH DIFFERENT ABILITIES. THE SPACE, WHICH IS A 18, 603 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING, WAS ACHIEVED BY INTEGRATING STANDARS 1-12 RAMPS AND ELEVATORS INTO THE DESIGN. THERE ARE ACCESSIBLE SPACES FOR WHEELCHAIRS ON ALL LEVELS. THE ENVIRONMENT CAN BE USED EASILY BY ANYONE OF ANY AGE, HEIGHT, OR MOBILITY. IT OFFERS AN OPEN FLOOR PLAN WITH WIDE DOORWAYS AND HALLWAYS THAT ALLOW FREE ORGANIC MOVEMENT EASILY THROUGHOUT ALL ROOMS WITHIN THE SPACE. IN ADDITION, TOILET AUTOMATION AND OCCUPANCY SENSORS PROVIDE EASE AND USE FOR THOSE WITH ABILITIES. THE ROOMS, BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ARE WHEELCHAIT ACCESSIBLE, ALLOWING FOR UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR EMPLOYEE AND GUESTS.
