Seun geskop, geklap Ilse Watson HY is aangesê om sy bek te hou. Hy is deur die gesig geklap, opgetel en teen die grond gegooi. Klasmaats het tot sy redding gekom en hom vinnig uit die situasie verwyder. Dít is wat met ’n 14-jarige leerling van die Hoërskool Kalahari gebeur het toe hy op Woensdag 4 Februarie deur ’n klasmaat gewaarsku is om niks vir die onderwyser van sy vloekery te sê nie. Die seun wat hom na bewering geslaan het, was bang dat sy punte verminder sou word as die onderwyser van sy vloekery te hore sou kom. Die 14-jarige het hom geïgnoreer en saam met sy maats op die skoolbus geklim van waar hulle na Wrenchville gery het. “Toe hy by die huis van die bus afklim, het die seun hom glo van agter af gestoot, hom met sy vuis in die gesig geslaan en hom gepootjie sodat hy op sy rug buite die bus beland het. “Ander maats het na bewering ook aan die skoppery deelgeneem. Die ander seun het bo-op my seun gaan sit, sy kop teen die teerpad gekap en hom met sy vuiste bygekom,” vertel die ontstelde ma van die 14-jarige seun. “My seun se vriend wou hom help en het die ander kinders gevra om op te hou, maar hy is ook weggestamp en vasgehou.” Die ma werk in Hotazel en dit is daar dat sy die oproep ontvang het dat haar seun aangerand is. “Met my tuiskoms het my arme kind so sleg gelyk. Sy gesig was opgeswel en sy mond het gebloei. Ek het hom dadelik in die motor gelaai, by die skoolhoof van die Hoërskool Kalahari, Johan Jonker, aangegaan sodat ek vir hom kon wys wat gebeur het en hom toe na ’n apteek in Kuruman gebring. Ek was bang sy wangbeen is gebreek.” Ná hul besoek aan die apteek het sy haar seun na ’n hospitaal digby Bathlaros gebring, maar daar het hulle lank gewag om ’n dokter te spreek. Die seun het ook begin kla van erge hoofpyn en hulle het teruggekeer huis toe. “Ek het ook by die Kuruman-polisie ’n klag van aanranding ingedien en ’n interdik teen die kwaaddoener gekry. My seun wil nie teruggaan skool toe nie, dit

Hy is erg getraumatiseer deur die gebeure.” Die seun se wang is nog baie blou en daar bestaan ’n moontlikheid dat stukkies been in die wangbeen gebreek het. Hy word steeds met antibiotika behandel. Konst. Brendan White, wat die ondersoekbeampte van die Kuruman-polisie is, het die ma van die 14-jarige gehelp om ’n interdik teen die seun wat hom aangerand het te kry.

Dié interdik bepaal dat die seun wat die stampery en slaanwerk gedoen het, geen verbale kontak met die 14-jarige mag hê nie. Die saak is nou aan Kuruman se speurtak oorhandig. Teen druktyd het White bevestig dat nog geen terugvoer van die speurtak ontvang is nie. Jonker het bevestig dat die bakleiery tussen die twee seuns volgens die skool se gedragskode gehanteer is. “Daar is dissiplinêr teen die seun opgetree wat die gestamp by die skool veroorsaak het. “Dié aksie behels ’n gesprek met die

ouers en ook detensie. “Die geslaan en aanranding wat in Wrenchville plaasgevind het, is buite die jurisdiksie van die skool. Daarom kan ons nie optree nie en dit is hoekom ons aan die ma voorgestel het dat sy ’n formele klag by die polisie indien,” het Jonker gesê.

DIT is soos ’n spookhuis. Geen pasiënte in die sale nie. Geen kinders in die kindersale nie en ook geen mammas met hul babas in die kraamafdeling nie. Die hoofteater is ’n deurmekaarspul van ’n teaterbed en ou masjiene wat in

die middel van die vloer staan. Dit lyk beslis nie na ’n geskikte plek vir ’n operasie nie. Die enigste mense wat nou die Kurumanhospitaal se gange bewandel, is die werkers wat vir die opknapping van die hospitaal verantwoordelik is. Personeel is in die minderheid. Die Kuruman-hospitaal is op Vrydag

(16/01) gesluit nadat die hospitaal in die nuus was omdat mensbloed uit die lykshuis gevloei het. Lyke het weens stukkende yskaste ontbind. Die algemene sale, kraamafdeling, ongevalle-eenheid en die teaters is gesluit. Die afdeling vir buitepasiënte, die apteek, x-straal-afdeling en die rehabilitasiesentrum

is egter steeds oop. “Die opknapping van die hospitaal sal einde Maart voltooi wees,” het Lulu Mxekezo, woordvoerder van die departement van gesondheid, gesê. Louis Pieterse, voorsitter van AfriForum Kuruman, het bevestig dat daar nog geen terugvoer van die Groen Skerpioene ontvang is nie.

Pekanneute voorwaar ’n wondergewas Lizette Slabber “TOE ons nog almal oor pekanneute dom was, het ek baie swaar lesse geleer,” sê Johan Coetzee, die streeksverteenwoordiger van die SuidAfrikaanse Pekanneut Produsente Assosiasie (sappa). “Daarna het ek besluit ek sal enigiemand wat by my kom raad en hulp vra, help om die regte besluite te neem wanneer hulle met pekanneute wil begin boer.” Johan is baie passievol oor dié gewas wat hy al 24 jaar gelede vir die eerste keer aangeplant het. “Pekanneute is ideaal vir die Oranjerivier, maar tog is daar nog hopeloos te min boere wat met dié bome hier boer. “Te min boere sien die ongelooflike potensiaal van pekanneute raak.” As lid van sappa wil hy graag die pekanneutbedryf vanaf Boegoeberg tot by Keimoes uitbrei. Volgens Johan het hy bykans tien jaar gelede aan ’n alternatief vir wisselbou begin dink. “Op ons kleiner landbou-eenhede is

Daarom het ek na alternatiewe begin kyk.” Teen daardie tyd het hy al pekanneutbome gehad wat ongeveer 12 jaar oud

was en hulle het baie goed gedoen. Dit het by hom die saadjie geplant dat pekanneute dalk ’n goeie alternatief kan wees. En dit was. In daardie tyd was die meeste pekanneutplase in Natal, waar hulle gelukkig is om 600 kg per hektaar af te haal.

In dieselfde tyd is baie pekanneutbome in sentraal-Suid-Afrika aangeplant. Dit het gou gewys dat die Oranjerivier-gebied beter is. “In die Westelike dele haal hulle tussen twee en drie ton per hektaar af, maar hier haal ons drie tot vier

ton per hektaar af.” Dan lag Johan en sê tong in die kies: “Ons het ná jare se ondersoeke nou vyf kultivars geïdentifiseer wat baie goed hier aard. Hoor vir my . . . ons gaan binnekort tot agt ton per hektaar afhaal.” Die gemiddelde prys wat pekanneutboere vir hul produk kry, is ongeveer R52 per kilogram. Oorgrote neute word vir meer as R60 per kilogram aangekoop. Volgens Johan is daar geen nadeel aan die plant van pekanneute verbonde nie. “Die bome hou van ons warm weer. Die streek het ook genoeg koue eenhede vir die bome. Hulle kan ryp verdra. Hulle groei baie goed in dié streek se alluviale grond. Die reën wat ons in Februarie/ Maart kry, pla hulle nie. Tydens bestuiwing in Oktober reën dit bykans nooit hier nie wat baie goed vir bestuiwing is.” Die lys is bykans eindeloos. Selfs die peste en plae wat ’n wingerd so affekteer, is baie minder. “In Natal en die Laeveld sukkel hulle baie met swamme

soos skurfsiekte, maar hier is swaminfeksies baie laag weens die hitte.” Die enigste probleem wat pekanneutbome ervaar, is dat hul wortels sukkel om spoorelemente uit die grond op te neem. ’n Eenvoudige spuitprogram los dié probleem makilk op. Die lys van voordele hou egter volgens Johan nie eens hier op nie. Die insetkoste, oeskoste en vestigingskoste van pekanneute is heelwat laer as wingerde. “Om tans een hektaar wingerd te vestig, kos ongeveer R150 000 terwyl een hektaar pekanneute slegs R22 000 kos.”

Daarby is oeskoste heelwat laer, want die bome word tydens oestyd met ’n spesiale werktuig wat agter ’n trekker gehaak word, geskud en dan val die neute grond toe. Volgens Johan is die insetkoste slegs sowat 10% van jou omset. Die enigste nadeel van pekanneute is dat dit tot sewe jaar duur voordat ’n boom genoeg neute produseer. Volgens Johan is die oplossing hiervoor baie eenvoudig. “Ons haal in ’n ou wingerd elke paar rye ’n ry wingerdstokke uit en plant ’n ry pekanneutbome. Dan oes jy steeds die druiwe terwyl die bo-

me groei of ons plant lusern tussen die bome en so maak jy nog steeds geld terwyl jy wag dat jou bome in produksie kom.” Tans word meer as 90% van Suid-Afrika se pekanneute na China uitgevoer. Suid-Afrika is ook die tweede grootse verskaffer van pekanneute naas Amerika veral omdat Amerika die meeste van hul neute self verbuik. “My grootste wens as sappa-verteenwoordiger is om pekanneute aan dié wêreld bekend te stel. Ek wil hê plaaslike boere moet besef watter wonderlike alternatief dit is voordat dit dalk te laat is.”

Uit ’n chaos kom orde DIE staatsrede van 2015 is gelewer en nou sal die debat daaroor volg. Staatsredes is gewoonlik klinies en steriel. Dit vorm deel van ’n groot staatsmasjien X met staatsredes, begrotings en midtermyn-begrotings wat eintlik almal soos handskoene in mekaar pas. Daarom is die verrassings min, hoewel daar altyd ’n groot ophef daarvan gemaak word. Die staatsrede van 2015 sal egter in die anale van die geskiedenis aangeteken word as ’n swart of rooi dag waarin alle lede van die EFF uit die parlement gegooi is. Hulle het nie gehoor gegee aan die speaker se versoek dat geen vrae toegelaat sal word nie. Kort daarna verlaat die amptelike opposisie ook die parlement omdat die voorsitter nie kon of wou antwoord of die wagte wat die EFF-lede verwyder het parlementêre wagte of polisielede was nie. Zuma het sy staatsrede gelewer sonder dat die opposisie in die parlement teenwoordig was. Hoe hulle tot die debat gaan toetree, sal die tyd leer. Die hoofpunte gaan sekerlik nie in die president se toespraak voorkom nie, maar eerder handel oor die chaos wat daaroor losgebars het. Ná die staatsrede is die algeme-

ne gevoel op straat dat die parlement as instelling nog nooit in soveel chaos gedompel was soos nou nie. Tog is daar ’n lig in die tonnel en daardie lig se naam is verantwoordbaarheid. Die ANC het vir baie lank daarmee weggekom om instellings, gebruike en reëls te gebruik om mee toe te smeer. Die DA het weer lank probeer om hierdie selfde instellings, gebruike en reëls te gebruik om alles wat die ANC probeer toesmeer, te ontbloot. Dít is die demokrasie in werking. Die EFF het egter ’n vars benadering. Hulle word nie geïntimideer deur die formaliteit en saaklikheid van die reëls nie en spreek die speaker uitdagend aan as hulle nie met die toepassing van die reëls saamstem nie. Die EFF se astrante benadering tot verantwoording dwing die ANC om anders op te tree. Dit kan net help om die president en ander ministers se minagting van die parlement die afgelope paar jaar tot orde te bring. Interessante tye lê voor. Hou moed en dink anders oor dit wat voor ons afspeel. Die chaos is nodig om orde te bring. Die ANC was lanklaas so onder druk en dit kan net goeie gevolge inhou.

Intendeel, die mens deel net met die sintuiglike, dit wat ons sien, hoor, ruik, voel, proe. God werk met die geestelike ryk, dit wat ek en jy nie kan sien nie. Vir die sintuiglike het jy geen geloof nodig nie. Maar vir die onsienlike het ons wel. Heb. 11:1

sê: “Die geloof dan is ’n vaste vertroue op die ding wat ons hoop, ’n bewys van die dinge wat ons nie kan sien nie.” Kol. 2:13-15 sê: “En julle, wat dood was deur die misdade en die onbesnedenheid van julle vlees, het Hy saam met Hom lewend gemaak deurdat Hy julle al die misdade vergeef het. “En die skuldbrief teen ons, wat met sy insettinge ons vyandig was, uitgedelg en weggeruim het deur dit aan die kruis vas te nael. “Nadat Hy die owerhede en magte uitgeklee en hulle in die openbaar tentoongestel en daardeur oor hulle getriomfeer het.” Die duiwel het geen houvas op ons as gelowiges nie. Die enigste uitwerking en houvas is dít wat ons hom toelaat om te doen. Ons oorwinning oor al sy werke is deur die kruis verseël. Ons oorwinning lê in die naam van Jesus, deur sy Woord en bloed. Daarom is ons vergifnis, genesing en verhouding met Hom gewaarborg. Ons kan vry wees van skuldgevoelens en verwyte.

Ek-tyd ’n introvert-ideaal Ilse Watson AS ek ’n nuwe boek begin lees, moet dit my gryp en smeek om verder te lees X binne die eerste paar bladsye. Indien dit nie gebeur nie, raak ek verveeld en sal ek die boek sommer doer diep op die boekrak wegbêre. Gedurende die Desembervakansie gee my dogter vir my ’n boek X Introvert Power. Ek het dit onlangs begin lees. En dit het my so vasgegryp dat ek dit sommer vinnig-vinnig klaar gelees het. Om die waarheid te sê, ek was regtig vies toe ek die laaste bladsy omblaai. Introvert Power is van onskatbare waarde vir alle introverte. Dit is ’n boek wat enige introvert laat verstaan dat hulle op hul eie private ruimte mág aandring. En hulle mag maar tyd vir hulself, om te dink, maak. En hulle mag ook ’n stadiger tempo in hul lewe inbring. Introverte hou nie van partytjies waar daar baie mense is nie. Hulle hou ook nie van geraas nie. En hulle hou nog minder van onderbrekings. Dié boek wys introverte hóé om situasies soos baie mense en onderbrekings te hanteer. Hoekom het ek die boek verslind? Want ek is ’n 100%-in-

trovert. Ek hou beslis nie van groot partytjies nie. Om, soos die Engelse sal sê, small talk te maak grief my tot in my tone. Die harde musiek maak my mal en ek wil net vlug. Hoe vermy ek dié goed? Ek woon net nie sulke byeenkomste by nie. Want ek weet, binne een uur gaan ek baie geïrriteerd wees. Om ’n introvert te wees beteken vir my baie ure van feitlik doodse stilte. Dit is kosbare tyd van sagte musiek, lees, teken en skryf in my joernaal. En dit geskied nie binne ’n halfuur nie. Nee, ek moet so paar ure tot my beskikking kan hê om dit te doen. ’n Persoon soos my ma verstaan glad nie my introvert-status nie. Ek word vertel dat ek baie onvriendelik is. Wat my eintlik laat lekkerkry, want sy is nog ’n gróter introvert as ek. Kuier ek ooit by vriende? Ja, natuurlik. Hou die groepie net klein en intiem asseblief. Braai saam met vier vriende kan ek hanteer. Kuier saam met twee vriendinne op ’n slag kan ek hanteer.

’n Heerlike naweek vir my saam met vriendinne moet ’n rustige, luilekker gebeurtenis wees. Die ene lê op ’n bank en lees ’n boek, die ander een teken of verf dalk, en die ander ene ploeter met haar plantjies buite rond. So nou en dan sê iemand iets. Maar verder is dit stillerig. Ek het al alleen by die see gaan vakansie hou. Net so vir vier dae. Net genoeg om die siel te lawe. Daar sal ek op die stoep sit, een met die wiegende branders word en die wêreld bekyk. So tussendeur die paar mense op die strand en die luilekker branders sal ek ’n koppie koffie en ’n versnappering gaan kry. Namiddag sal ek binne die koel gastehuis se dik mure lees. En skryf. Saans sal ek myself met ’n ete uit by ’n restaurant op die strand en ’n lekker yskoue glasie wit wyn bederf. By die restaurant sal dit natuurlik zoem van al die mense, maar dit sal my nie pla nie. Net een uur daar sal genoeg wees om my ete te geniet en dan te verdwyn. En wat maak ek dan as ek na my see-huisie terugkeer? Miskien sal ek verder staar na die see en die maan. Miskien sal ek lees, skryf of teken. Maar wat ook al ek doen, dit sal die introvert in my perfek pas.

Die voorgereg het uit frikkadelle, ’n worsie en pasteitjie bestaan en die hoofgereg was hoender bedien met roomaartappels, gemengde groente en ’n mengelslaai. Education key for mine ANGLO AMERICAN KUMBA IRON ORE’S Social and Community Strategy is reported to continue its emphasis of addressing the gaps in the key focus areas of education and skills, youth development, health and social, enterprise and infrastructure development. According to the mine, education remains its key focus area as it serves as a platform to transform the lives of young people and starts to make positive social change in and around communities. The Kolomela Mine further reports to have made a significant contribution to the local and regional economies, improving the lives of ordinary people through working hand in hand with government and civil society. In a press release by Cindy Ramnarayan, the mine’s communications practitioner, the Kolomela Mine have donated more than 700 school bags to foundation phase learners in and around schools in the Tsantsabane area. “In 2014, Kumba spent more than R40 million on community development programmes. “In 2014, the education baseline assessment formed part of the planned budget spend,” said Ramnarayan. George Benjamin, the manager of public affairs at the Kolomela Mine, highlighted that the education baseline assessment was designed with recommendations to address education in Tsantsabane. THE Global Harvest Prison Ministry visited the Kuruman Correctional Centre recently. The ministry has been travelling to correctional centres across the country for the past ten years. Their main objective during their visit on 4 February was to inspire both spiritual workers and the offenders in the Kuruman Correctional Centre. The ministry’s national 50 days of prayer and fast will commence on 5 April and come to an end on 24 May. Jaco Visser, the official responsible for spiritual care in Kuruman Correctional Centre, arranged for four spiritual workers, nine juvenile offenders and 25 adult offenders to take part in a workshop on the

50-day prayer marathon. The session was introduced by Arthur Coetzee and presented by his wife, Michelle. During the session she encouraged the participants to have morning prayers prior to the 50 days of prayer. Coetzee also inspired the offenders to refrain from committing crime and to overcome the difficulties experienced in their lives by prayer. After the workshop more offenders were invited to a revival service where they were also engaged in prayer. At the end of the service, Owen Galant of the Kuruman Correctional Centre thanked the visitors on behalf of the department and expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Global Harvest Prison Ministry.

CORLEA BOTHA is een van die beste stemme wat Suid-Afrika nog gehoor het en sy spog met goue en platinum-verkope. Vir hierdie talentvolle sanger is geen musiekgenre ’n uitdaging nie. Sy het bekend en gelief geraak as een van die Lieflinge, maar is deesdae gevestig as ’n solo-kunstenaar met haar nuwe album, Wie ek is, wat reeds ’n topverkoper is. Tobi Jooste is nog een van ons land se groot talente. Hy spog met nie minder nie as vyf CD’s op sy kerfstok en sy fluweelstem trakteer gehore op ’n besonderse manier. Humor is ’n onlosmaaklike deel van sy persoonlikheid en word weerspieël in die twee boeke wat hy reeds gepubliseer het. Die samevoeging van hul sjarme en sangtalent op een verhoog was ’n musikale ontploffing toe hulle op 10 Februarie in die NG kerksaal in Kuruman opgetree het. Benewens hul uitsonderlike musiek, het die skreeusnaakse Tobi en pittige Corlea die gehoor ’n kykie gegee na die ligter kant van sangerwees. Die konsert het duette en solo-vertonings ingesluit van onder meer die gróótste treffers uit wêreldbekende musiekblyspele. Die gemeenskap van Kuruman het dié spesiale aand baie geniet.

SY het sak en pak saam met haar seun, Manie Kitching, en gesin na Hermanus verhuis. Twee maande later is sy sak en pak terug by die Mimosahof-Tehuis vir bejaardes in Kuruman. Tannie Cecilia (Cielie) Kitching het tydens haar kortstondige verblyf in Hermanus haar kop oopgeval en sy is daar, volgens haar, nie baie goed by die hospitaal behandel nie. Sy het ook die ouetehuis daar duurder gevind as die ene in Kuruman. “Hier by Mimosahof is die omgang tussen mense lekker. En die versorging is baie goed. Die personeel is baie goed vir my. Ek is baie gelukkig hier,” het sy gesê. “Met my rug wat so baie pyn X en ek kan ook nie meer so lekker hoor nie X kap ek dit uit hierso. Ek het altyd baie blokkiesraaisels gedoen. Dit hou ’n mens se brein aan die gang. Nou kan ek amper nie meer skryf nie. Ek lees graag, soos die Huisgenoot en boeke.”

Vroue kry inspirasie Ilse Watson DIE dameskring van Kuruman het 2015 met ’n vergadering oor vermaning, maar terselfdertyd ook inspirasie, begin. Elize Boshoff, voorsitter van die dameskring, het met die vroue gesels oor hoe om hulleself van geestelike ballingskap, armoede, gebroke huwelike en siektes van die liggaam en gees los te maak. “Ons moet opnuut begin bid en opregte berou toon en dus onsself terugdraai na ons God,” het sy gesê. Sy het ook genoem dat die vroue ’n gebedsopdrag het om by God te pleit vir hul huwelike om dit weldra te versterk. Die gaste is ook aangemoedig om te bid vir enkelouers en kinders wat uit gebroke huwelike kom. “Ons moet bid dat ons verhouding met God sterker sal word,” het Boshoff gesê. Marda Oosthuysen het die vroue met haar Presidentsrede geïnspireer. “Al is ons dameskringlede soos Dozi en Randall (Wicomb) se liedjies sê ‘maar

HIERMEE wil ek graag getuig wat die Here vir my gedoen het en steeds doen. In November 1964 het twee dokters die doodsvonnis oor my uitgespreek. Die een het gesê dat ek ’n verswakte hartklepspier het wat enige oomblik sou platval en dat ek daarvan sou sterf. Die ander ene het vir my gesê my hartklop is te vinng en dat dit ook my dood sou veroorsaak. Ek het ’n week later saam met my vrou na Kimberley gegaan om nog ’n dokter te spreek. Ons het eers by ’n klerewinkel aangedoen en daar het ek op die trappe flou geword. Ek en my vrou is toe na die dokter toe, maar die besoek aan hom was nie na my wens nie en ek het ook nie die pille wat hy aan my voorgeskryf het, gebruik nie. Ná dié voorval is ek weer na ’n ander dokter vir verdere toetse. Ek is weer verskeie soorte medisyne voorgeskryf. My vrou se neef het vir my gesê ek moet ’n toordokter raadpleeg, want vir hom het dit gelyk asof ek getoor is. Ek het vir hom gesê dat ek net een geneesheer het en dat dit God is. Ek het ook bygevoeg dat Sy dienste gratis is. My geloof en vertroue in die Here het my gesond gemaak en dit is hoekom ek vandag nog hier is om daarvan te getuig. The content of this article is incorrect. There has been no research done on this subject and therefore all the facts in this article are incorrect. If such things existed in Kathu, where are the police reports? I would like to see that this matter is taken seriously, if you would like me to continue reading this paper. Otherwise it would be a waste of my time reading this paper knowing that the information published in it is incorrect. Kathu is a very small Christian community and people here are generally uneducated in other religions. They would believe anything printed in your paper. I am not a Satanist, but I am a Pagan and I am open-minded about other religions. One of the things that I am not happy with, is that the Pagan Pentacle is used in the article. Paganism and Satanism are two different religions and the Satanism pentacle is drawn upside down and represents a completely different meaning. ) The Bulletin received various letters regarding the article. We cannot publish all the letters but wish to confirm that the article was based on two testimonies from parents whose children were involved in Satanism. S Marie se ystee Die resep lewer twee liter ystee. ) Laat vier rooibosteesakkies vir sowat tien minute in een liter kookwater trek. ) Haal die sakkies uit. ) Meng 200-250 ml. suiker met ’n liter water in ’n aparte beker. ) Roer die suiker totdat dit opgelos het. ) Gooi die warm tee by die suikerwater. ) Laat die mengsel heeltemal afkoel en hou dit dan in die yskas totdat die tee voorgesit gaan word. ) Voeg gekneusde frambose of ander vrugte by die tee voor bediening. ) Geniet die heerlike ystee saam met ysblokkies.

CHEDDARKAAS-EN-BILTONG-BROODJIES is verspot-maklik en is heerlik as dit warm voorgesit word. Die resep lewer agt broodjies. ) 1 kg winkelbrooddeeg ) 16 groot skywe beesbiltong ) 150 g sterk cheddarkaas, gerasper Verhit oond tot 180 °C. Verdeel brooddeeg in 8 stukke. Maak ’n bal van elke stuk deeg. Druk elke bal plat tot so 3 cm dik. Plaas op bakplaat wat goed gespuit is met kleefwerende kossproei. Pak 2 stukke biltong op elke deegbal. Sprinkel kaas bo-op biltong en laat deegballe sowat 15 minute rys voordat jy dit in die oond plaas. Bak 30 – 35 minute tot gaar. Sit broodjies warm voor met botter.

DIÉ sampioen-kapokaartappels is ’n perfekte bykos met ekstra geur van sampioene daarby. Die resep is genoeg vir ses. 8 middelslag-aartappels 250 ml room, louwarm 55 g (60 ml) botter 45 ml olyfolie 250 g bruin sampioene, grofgekap sout en varsgemaalde swartpeper Maak so: Skil aartappels en sny in blokke. Plaas in groot pot met water en kook tot sag en gaar. Dreineer en voeg room en botter by. Maak goed fyn met aartappeldrukker tot mengsel roomsag is. Verhit olie in pan en braai sampioene vir 5 – 8 minute of totdat gaar. Voeg by aartappels en meng. Geur goed met sout en peper. ) Resep met erkenning aan Herman Lensing van Sarie.

Big prizes on offer for club rugby players THE third edition of the Cell C Community Cup was launched in Johannesburg on Tuesday (10/02) with big rewards announced once again for the top performers in this year’s national championship for non-university clubs, which kicks off on Saturday (21/02). The Aveng Moolmans Sishen Rugby Club from Kathu will again participate in the 2015 Cell C Community Cup. The tournament, which gets underway with a match in Pacaltsdorp that will be broadcast live on television and radio (a first for South African club rugby), will once again feature 20 sides in four pools of five in a Rugby World Cup-style format. After the group stages, which encompass 40 matches at club venues across the length and breadth of South Africa, the top two teams from each pool will progress to the Easter play-offs, which will be held this year at the Rustenburg Impala Rugby Club from 2 to 6 April. Apart from television coverage (at least 14 matches will be broadcast live on SuperSport) four matches will be broadcast live on regional radio as the tournament steps up a gear in terms of coverage across all platforms and reaches further into far-flung rugby communities. “In just two short years, the Cell C
