K ELSEY A MOS News Editor University of Hawai‘i at MÄ noa student Tim Perry, who ďŹ rst gained notoriety for his Hawai‘i Speedo Student blog, is currently under investigation for the theft of around 200 valuable or rare books from Hamilton Library. He was caught when he allegedly tried to send the books to a rare book seller on the mainland, who recognized the University of Hawai‘i stamps on the books and contacted UH. “We’re very thankful to Detective [Lance] Anderson and David Niau, who is the building manager at the Waikiki Skyliner [Perry’s residence], who informed the police the books were in an elevator, and Mr. [Michael] Hollander of Hollander Rare Books for being a good citizen and asking if these had been withdrawn or if they were still our property,â€? said Alan Grosenheider, associate university librarian of administration. Myles Breiner, Perry’s attorney, maintains that his client is innocent until proven guilty. “He’s been charged but not convicted ... Contrary to what you’ve read in the media, he cooperated in returning the books,â€? said Breiner. He also said that the conduct of Anderson is suspect, and the actions of the resident manager have been exaggerated in their valiance. Perry caused a stir on campus last semester when he began taking risquĂŠ photos of himself posing in a Speedo around campus. He then inspired controversy when he made a

The exact disciplinary measures taken against Perry for his video are unknown, though Queerty.com has reported that he was suspended.
