REBECKA DAY ADVERTISING STAFF WRITER We all want to maintain that hot bod we’ve been preparing for spring break. Here are some drink ideas to help keep the calorie count low. HABANERO TEQUILA
VODKA MINT TEA
GIN AND POMEGRANATE
VODKA GINGER
Soaking habanero peppers in your tequila bottle for a few nights will eliminate the taste of alcohol with no added calories.
Add a little honey and lemon to your mint tea and vodka mix for a low-cal, semi-healthy and refreshing drink.
Pomegranate juice and fresh berries pack this drink with vitamin C.
Use real ginger and soda water (zero calories). Add a lime for color.

Mai Tai Bar is a great place to grab a drink with friends and enjoy some live music at the top of Ala Moana. They’ve got a late happy hour from 8 pm to 11 pm and no cover charge. Enjoy either live or recorded music while you sip on drinks with your friends.
Bar 35 is a hip and trendy place to have drinks and delicious pupus. They have an extensive beer list and a full bar and are open till 2 am. Their happy hour starts 4 pm and ends 8pm. 808537-3535 TRANSPORTATION: Saving the bucks when it comes to transportation can make all the difference. When going to the beach, make it an adventure and take TheBus with friends, or carpool it to Sandy’s. When going out, it’s best to stay safe and get a cab if you plan on drinking. The best cabs: The Cab (808-422-2222) and Charley’s Taxi (808-531-1300). Both are fast and affordable. Most cabs accept credit cards, but ask be-
fore you get in. FOOD: A great way to save money is to stop eating out. Stepping into the kitchen can seem daunting for those without experience, but cooking with your friends can be really fun. A great date option is to cook with your date and enjoy your time in the kitchen together. You can pick up fresh fruits and veggies from the KCC Farmers’ Market, which has a wide of foods and treats. WINE: All under $20 from your nearest Safeway with two locations right by campus - Kapahulu or in Manoa. If you’re looking for a cheap but good wine to go with
