Historic Restoration Projects: Bringing Past Features

Back to Life

Historic Restoration Projects: Bringing Past Features Back to Life Historic restoration projects are all about breathing new life into old features. This can be done on a variety of scales, from small repairs to complete restorations. No matter what the project entails, the goal is always the same: to restore the feature back to its former glory.

Impressive Historic Restoration Projects

A restoration project involves returning the building to its original condition. This can be done for several reasons, such as to preserve the historical value of the building, increase the property value, make it safer and more habitable, or simply because you love old buildings.

Another important restoration took place on the United States Capitol Dome, which spanned three years from 2013 to 2016., It was restored using innovative technology and historical tradecraft to repair over 1,300 cracks and deficiencies in the cast iron dome.

A famously known restoration project was the Statue of Liberty in the 1980s which included repainting, repairing the crown, and replacing the statue’s internal skeleton with stainless steel bars.
