Why Homes in the US Are Larger Than Those in Europe In the US, a typical home will have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large yard; in comparison, the average European home has two bedrooms and one bathroom. There are some interesting reasons for these differences.

Added to this, energy efficiency is an important consideration for many Europeans, which is better achieved with more compact homes. In the US, the size of the average residential property is increasing every year, and many homeowners seek to expand their existing property to cater to the changing needs of their family.


Home Extensions In the US, extensions to a home tend to be constructed in the same style as the rest of the property. In Europe, however, there are many historical properties; the addition of modern wings or rooms serves to make for some interesting architectural combinations.
