Design Portfolio Princess Alexandra Hospital (2017- 2019) Medical Planning Library Refurbishment, within Hospital Campus.  Refurbishment of an existing 60 seat library to 120 seat with contemporary décor  Manage interviews with library stakeholders to determine initial scope of design and construction issues  Create opportunities for green walls and bioclimatic design- without introducing infection control issues common to healthcare spaces  Accommodate new energy efficient light fittings, upgraded mechanical, and energy saving features with mobile dockings in localised seating areas.  Resolve acoustics and sound flanking issues, without compromising and  Optimise wall footprint for buildability  Meet technical issues with cinema projectors, access for servicing, sounds systems, electrical pathways,  Meet CPTED or active/ passive security issues  Space planning for future extensions  Approximate cost AU $1.6 million Traffic Drop off to front of Main building on Campus  Redesign of front traffic drop off, to accommodate disabled and wheelchair persons.  Liaise with major stakeholders including Main Roads, Brisbane City Council and Patient Consumer groups.  Refurbish the front outlook of a Major Tertiary Hospital with staged design. Materials are nominated to suit the Green Star requirements with a focusing on recycled materials, timber, green planting and natural concrete.  The theme aims to be warm and inviting for all patient consumers and staff alike without discrimination.  Accessible spaces and pedestrian friendly spaces will offer an equal level of comfort and quality.  Consideration is given to maximise number of PWD compliant carpark spaces. Colours, finishes and signage to respond to elder and mature clientele base.

Patient Access Coordination Hub (PACH), Coordination Centre  Design an Emergency Coordination Centre to be manned by both Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Resident Clinicians to create a bed and ambulance management service.  Interview with operational crew. Operations is modelled after the Command Centre at the John Hopkins Hospital at Baltimore – and reflects local PA requirements  Materials are nominated to suit the Green Star requirements with a focus on natural timbers, recycled plastics and good acoustics.  The theme aims to be private and efficient space, while being an inviting space to office workers.  Accessible spaces and pedestrian friendly spaces will offer an equal level of comfort and quality.  Consideration is given to maximise number of PWD compliant table spaces. Colours, finishes and furniture are selected to best complement the various hospital administrative staff.

Refurbished Control room and Gamma Scanning Camera Room  Create suitable control room and Gamma Camera room, in an existing space, with technical advice from Gamma Camera supplier and inhouse scientist.  Direct end user interviews to understand operations, modelled after a shared control room and Best Practices and Workplace Health And Safety for technicians and operators  Materials are nominated to work towards a Green Star while meeting technical requirements of specialist scanning room.  The theme is kept simple while calming the patients within the busy and noisy routine.  Accessible spaces and pedestrian friendly spaces is considered, while vendor accessibility is considered. Hospital staff are consulted as part of stakeholders to ensure that they health concerns are addressed.  Liaise with vendor for best fit solution

CS architects and arkiStruct (2012- 2016) Cinema and Entertainment Design Palace Cinemas, in James Street CENTRO Shopping Complex.  Refurbishment of existing 4-screen auditorium tenancy, to a 9-screen 1000sqm tenancy within an Existing Complex.  Liaise between council, existing architect, cinema operator on design and rental returns  The Cinema tenancy creates an elegant and sophisticated feelfocusing on new colours schemes. Marketing dictates a target audience with mature adults and families as primary audiences.  Resolve acoustics and sound flanking issues  Optimise wall footprint for buildability  Meet technical issues with cinema projectors, access for servicing, sounds systems, electrical pathways,  Space planning for future extensions  Approximate cost AU $2.4 million  Interior fitout to respond with a warm material palette with consideration for elder and mature clientele base.

Palace Cinemas, in Byron Bay Shopping Complex.  Design of 9-screen auditorium tenancy, 1750sqm tenancy in a Proposed Shopping Complex.  The Cinema tenancy creates an organic, raw and industrial feel in a modern context. The materials are nominated to fit the Green Star requirements of the shopping complex- focusing on recycled materials, timber, leather and raw concrete.  The theme aims to be warm and inviting.  The tenancy will adopt the latest technology in cinema design, including a 3D Projector unit.  Accessible spaces will offer an equal level of comfort and quality.  Interior fitout design will relate well with the local influences and characteristics. Colours, finishes and signage to respond to elder and mature clientele base.

Retail, Residential and Educational Facility Design Affordable housing, at 250 Churchill Road, Prospect, SA  Design of 8 storey apartments in a rezoned residential site, for communal living.  Liaise with council to provide one section as low cost housing, with second section as Affordable Housing with appropriate nongovernmental organisation  Modern family living for the Parents with 2.5 kids.  Proposed in conjunction with smart design, clear accounting of materials list to generate possibilities for affordability  Facilitate options and communicate with town planners for future block with private high end housing in neighbouring block, with different finishes.  Part of a masterplan for a new affordable housing zone, in South Australia- spread over 5.27 Hectares (13.02 acres). With multiple blocks using variations of modular blocks. arkiStruct’s Granny Flat series- Standard  Design of modular units to best suit the proprietary modular system, for Australia conditions  Create a module system to suit Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC)- or a module unit for design  Facilitate with early meetings with town planner for a easily reproducible template to ease siting conditions in various councils  Steel design with clip-on façade panels to provide a simple way of building  Insulated panel type offers fire proofing, optimum insulation to comply with NCC, versus heavier traditional construction methods  Targets modern living with potential for affordability  Ease of building for small team forms the early brief  Create a base design to service the high end premium design and affordable housing  Create construction program with builders to accommodate training opportunities with local institutes

Mandurah Mixed Use Retail and Apartments, West Australia.  Part of Master planning and Design for 15,792sqm plot (1.58hectares): o Luxury apartments over 4 blocks o RAMADA branded hotel suites, conference space and signature restaurant area into 1 block o One to Four bedroom apartment choices  Using proprietary panelised pre-fab building system to provide apartment spaces, including: o 44 luxury apartments o 140 service apartments & suites o 54 one & two bedroom apartments o Convention & Function Centre o Gym- Tennis & Swimming Pool complex o Retail/Restaurants o Multi-level car parking facility  Adaptation of design modular to allow for vertical development (12 storey tower)  Approximate typical construction cost of AU$110 million  Design, Planning and early Building Approval

Mackay Airport and Masterplan Urban Options, North Queensland.  Reconfiguration of existing airport façade  Masterplan of Mackay Airport's leashold to suit Planning Act 1996, Australian Airports Association and other planning bodies.  Environmental and sustainability issues for future civic potential  Terminal capacity planning to determine planning for security stations, custom requirements for future upgrades, expansion  Hospital training space in future expansion  Tie-in to Mackay Airport Hotel  Leasing opportunities to form part of overall master plan  Reprogram front end of spaces to suit traffic, pedestrian and operational

Mackay Airport Hotel, North Queensland.  Part of overall masterplan to rejuvenate Airport landscape  120 room, 7 Levels for an IBIS Branded 4 star hotel. Building forms an entry statement to the Airport Zone, with formalised security considerations. High quality finishes are provided across range of rooms.  Options for inclusive room design.  An outdoor spill out area fronting the covered thoroughfare walkway will create an active space to entice travelers to use the hotel facilities  Strict accommodation requirements to hotel brand guidelines, acoustics consideration for being next to the airport  End approximate cost AU$18 million

Australian International Islamic College (AIIC), Durack, Queensland  Masterplan and Design  Educational and sports college  Liaise with council to mitigate possible issues with environmental area nearby and height issues.  Greenfield site, of 116799 sqm (11.68 hectares)  Stage 1 includes new mixed use medical-retail space  Future stages self-sustaining and income generating space  Extending to Aged Care, Health and Mixed-use precinct at front site  Block of hotel, apartment types-residential  Design and architecture planning in team environment  Estimated cost of AU $100 Million over 4 stages Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Sports centre, Everton Hills  Masterplan and proposed sports hall for existing underused Youth Club, over a 1.05 ha site.  Liaise with Non-governmental organisations including the PCYC to present spaces and discuss opportunities for extra funding via partnerships  Regulation compliant badminton, basketball court, with indoor spaces suitable for general sports use. 2 adjacent office spaces.  Estimated cost of AU $9 Million.

Student Accommodation at University of New England, Armidale- New College and Robb College  Two new student accommodation within a new student corridor at Armidale, University of New England.  Robb College with 208 rooms refurbished  New College with 222 rooms over 2 storeys, and 3 buildings, includes a student gathering space- both indoors and outdoors  Includes disabled friendly spaces on ground floor, and DDA compliance rooms  Ancillary study, laundry spaces  To suit overall collegial atmosphere with clear signage, adequate safety features and passive surveillance.  Design and Detail, to allow for potential of spaces to be built with modular systems.  To suit a modular building system

Conrad Gargett (2009- 2011) Health/ Commercial Design Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane, Brisbane.  Paediatric hospital to combine existing services merged with Mater Children’s Hospital  One facility over 12 levels, provision for 3 more levels, AU$1.2 billion.  Proximity to a major public busway stations, a train station and three public ferry terminals.  Designed in conjunction with adjacent Hancock Street car park  Sustainable urban landscape with community engagement  Rooftop and wall gardens supporting environmental considerations and patient respite  Early works and planning and documentation to cover creation of multilevel car parking.  Corresponded with detailing and section from clinical user perspective .  Coordination with suppliers of specialist equipment, consultants, and provide feedback.  Liaise with consultants on technical planning: Specification of appropriate equipment to facilitate tender process.  Corresponded with detailing and section from the nursing  Detailing, equipment and technical layout for rooms  Provision of a PC1 and PC2 laboratory grade design  Interior fitout for Nursing office, central atrium using colours

North Gheran Community Development, Tripoli, Libya  The masterplan, as part of the Brisbane Group, looked at creating a selfsustainable city catering to the expatriate community. The mixed-uses will have a strategic role in advancing the economic and social welfare of Tripoli.  The project scale was approximately 100Ha site, including 1600 units, 1050 houses, a major international hotel, a marina, a variety of commercial tenancies, a tourist related components.  Landscaping, social and recreational uses were considered essential.  Planning and Contract Documentation of Split stages, as shared within different firms within consortium.
