Running into the cave By: Juliah S. Tolman Prologue In a house far away lives a boy with his mother and a dog , the house was quite big but they were very poor, and far back behind was a big forest that was so long it went into the next state. There was a cave and whoever went in never came out. Chapter 1 School Blake Anderson ran up to the large middle school doors, he opened the doors they were a lot heavier than he expected. As he walked inside he noticed everyone was staring at him, suddenly he heard a yelp coming from the boys bathroom, he looked inside hoping to find something that wasn’t disgusting, but instead he saw a ghostly figure walking towards a cave. Then the image disappeared like a ghost itself. He quickly ran out of the bathroom to terrified to pay any attention in class. When he got home he stomped up the stairs, but quietly enough so she didn’t wake up. He opened the door to his room about the only place to be alone. He quickly found his computer, and searched if spirits were real even though he knew the computer wouldn’t know if spirits were real. He

pressed enter and his answer was…if you believe they are then they are then they are. He wasn’t sure if this was right since it’s google, so he decided to think that it wasn’t. suddenly a strange noise cut though the silence.

Chapter 2 A cry Arooo! Blake ran to the window he couldn’t see anything but he could certainly hear something, so he dashed around the door, down the stairs and out the door. He ran into the middle of the forest intel he found the wolf howling by a tree. Then he realized that the wolf wasn’t howling in pain it was howling with lose. Feeling sorry for the wolf he came closer it came closer he could tell there was a bond. A noise cut through the silence.

Chapter 3 The parchment A piece of parchment was fluttering in front of his nose, he caught it and unrolled the scroll, and suddenly he was transported into a tree. Did a piece of parchment just transport him into a tree? He thought. When he jumped

down there was the wolf, as black as midnight. That would be a good name to name it. He thought. The wolf howled, and then it pawed the air. He looked behind him there was a snowy land, so he put his foot on the snow and his whole foot went numb. Blake didn’t feel like going home but he knew he had to, so he hopped all the way home the wolf trailing behind him.

Chapter 4 The Guest He slammed the door behind him once the warm air hit his foot it unfroze. His mom said what? In an annoyed tone. And he had to explain everything even the wolf trailing behind him. Suddenly the doorbell rang and he went to open it. Hello! Said a girl with a huge smile on her face. She had curly blond hair that was held in a low ponytail. Hello! She said again. Are you Blake Anderson? Yes. He murmured. Then you are on the cliff of death. She said calmly. WHAT! He screamed looking down at his feet. No silly not literally. Oh. Who is it? Called his mom. What is your name? He asked. Oh, my name Luna, Luna Havegood. It’s just Luna Havegood. He called. Havegood, isn’t that the person who just nearly got killed by the cave of death, she proves is real? Oh it is real, and that is the place I have to take you. You have to take the test before you go to the special

school for magic and muggles. She explained. What test? I’ll be here again tonight at midnight. And she skipped off. He slammed the door behind him why did girls always have to give you some riddle and tell you to solve it? He collapsed on his bed and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 5 Midnight The doorbell suddenly rang and Blake scrambled out of bed he forgot about how Luna had invited herself over. He opened the door and down the stairs and opened the last door and there was Luna smiling like a crazy maniac. Then she said well shall we go to the cave of death? I guess. Then I’ll lead the way. They walked a long way, and then Blake started to think about his mother she didn’t know anything about this trip. He stopped. Then Luna turned around and said. “Why did you stop we are not going back.” Well you might not be going back but I am, and he walked back towards his house. You’re not going back I’m not going back either. Why not? Because I promised that I would bring you to the cave of death, and bring you back safely. Why can’t you just break your promise and let me go home. You think I don’t want to go home I do want to go home as bad as you do but its destroyed b-because I didn’t do the test. So your house got destroyed because you didn’t do the test? Yes.

Thank you for listening. Okay I’ll do the test. Good. So they set off again, and they stopped in front of a cave entrance. So we have to go in there? Yes.

Chapter 6 Running into the cave They starred at it for a long time intel Blake broke the silence. Do you want me to go in there? Yes I do. You have to actually, unless you want your house destroyed like mine. No I don’t. Then you will have to enter. Are you coming with me? Yes of course. And they set off into the cave. Once they set a foot inside the entrance closed like there wasn’t one to begin with. Is it supposed to do that? He asked. Yes. No. Maybe. What are we supposed to do now the entrance just closed? Oh. Well we try to find something in here and get us and that thing bake out safely. Sounds challenging. Oh, yes it’s challenging. How do you know if you haven’t even done it? Well if you don’t do it you get two punishments one I already told you, the other one is you have to go in with other people on their quests. Oh. Well what are you waiting for? Yah. Let’s go. An hour had passed and they haven’t found a thing. Suddenly a roar cut through the silence she looked up and she didn’t see Blake, then she thought he might be dead. But she

didn’t want to think about it, so she decided to just keep looking. Suddenly there was a roar so startling Luna almost fell backwards. Blake came out over a pile of junk panting and fell over when he got to the top. What happened? She asked. He lifted his head a little off the ground and said, I think I found out what we are looking for. Where is it? She asked. Come I’ll show you. She followed him over the hill, and there in the goldlight was a beautiful creature, a dragon roaring in the steel chains. Why are we just standing here, why don’t we just do something about it? Oh yeah right. So they started to pry off the chains with their fingers. Right when they were about to make their escape, a figure in a black cloak addressed them. Without any warning the figure started to attack. Luna screamed and ran to hide, but Blake stayed trying to untie pry open the clasps on the chains. He finally untied the dragon and sneaked out. He found Luna hiding behind a mound. Come on. He said. I unclasped the dragon we could make our escape while flying on the dragon. So they silently walked towards the dragon not to be heard by the figure in black. They got on the dragon and flew to the entrance. The dragon went for the wall and he shut his eyes he felt no jolt and opened his eyes they were in the air wind slapping their faces he actually felt happy. Then he remembered the figure. What are we going to do about the figure in the cave? He asked. Oh we just leave him for the next time. And they flew off into the sunset.
