THE FLOOD IN DALLAS CHAPTER 1: HOMEWORK One day, I was just minding my own business, doing my homework, when my mom just came B A R G I N G in! “Oh Mom. Oh Mom.” What do you need!?
“Just came to tell yea, there MIGHT JUST MIGHT be a two foot flood tomorrow so remember to wear your rain boots tomorrow!” “OK! I’ll make sure to-
WAIT!!!” “What if… there’s actually gonna be a 20 foot flood! “Oh honey. Oh honey. There’s not gonna be a 20 foot flood tomorrow!” “Well, what if?”
CHAPTER 2: The Next Day (DunDunDun) The min. I woke up I D A S H E D to the window and guess what I saw? YUP, you guessed it

saying, “It is safe to go outside kids, it isn’t raining anymore, but DON’T DRINK THE WATER!! Some say it’s poisonous.” “Ok, Mom said softly, I guess we go outside with our inflatables.” “Let’s go get our swimsuits on.”
CHAPTER 3: OUTSIDE, ALMOST “MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I jump out of my window?”
“NO!!! But we can jump out mine, it’s MUCH
BIGGER!” A smile grew on my face. “ON SECOND THOUGHT, WE CAN’T LEAVE.” Mom yelled from her bedroom. My smile shrunk when I saw what happened.
CHAPTHER 4: WHAT IS HAPPENING!? “This is impossible!!!!! How could the flood be bigger than our apartment? We’re on the top floor! And this is the biggest apartment on Main! And just a minute ago the flood was WAY lower!
Mom, I’m SO upset!” “I am very sorry honey; you’ve just got to deal with what life gives you.” “I’ll be in my room, I need to finish my homework, I said As I finished my homework, I noticed something amazing! THE FLOOD WAS LOWER! “MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!” I yelled,
“What, Talli-

CHAPTHER 5: WEEKS OF WAITING After 4 weeks, the flood ACTUALLY
