Hi, I am Kate and I am Evan we are going to tell you the story of “The mystery of Grandpa.” Once upon a time there was a grandpa (AKA Joe) with grandkids that stay with him on the weekends. Dering weekdays he’s alone except for his hamster Hammy. We call him Hammer because our uncle Bob ACCIDENTLY dropped a hammer on him when he was fixing his hamster ball . So now he is FLAT as a pancake. Sometimes Grandpa thinks he is a pancake. Ok, one day we came to stay with grandpa for Thanksgiving break and we yelled GRANDPA!!!!!! We gave him a big hug and noticed something, different. Kate finally said, Grandpa, you smell different, A Good different she corrected herself. (He normally smelt like butter and wood chips you know why) Why thank you, Kate! I was hoping you would notice because I have to go some were today. And of course Evan made a confused face even I had to make a face too. See you kids Sunday said dad. Ok said Evan and Kate. After that Grandpa said I got to go next door Evan asked why? Grandpa said Weeeeeeeeellllllllllllll…… Kate and Evan looked at each other than before they knew it Grandpa slammed the door and out he was. The kids looked astonished! Grandpa never did that! They ran
downstairs to the window and saw Grandpa inside a house drinking tea. And an hour later grandpa came home and made us grilled cheese sandwiches and then told us to go to bed we did, But didn’t go to sleep .We stayed up wondering why was Grandpa so hyper ?
The next morning, the kids woke up. Normally Grandpa would YELL,” Breakfast” time! “But it was silent except for hammer rolling around in his hamster ball .The kids were worried. They looked around the house…. no Grandpa in sight .Kate and Evan looked at each other. They walked to the downstairs window and saw Grandpa next door.
We stopped, we trooped, we dropped, next door. JOE MIKEY PAUL!!!!!!! You had us worried SICK ! Said Kate. Uhhh . said Evan .you SCARED me !!! uhhh. We looked around the house!!!! Uhhhhh”Kate”till we-KATE!!! Yelled Evan .WHHHHAAAAAT. Grandpa is with a girl .ohhhh. Kate blushed. And ran out the door.swishhhh. later that night , Kate and Even wondered why was he with a girl! Kate woke Even up and yelled GRADPA IS IN LOVE!!! Even said geese Kate why do you have to yell?
Early in the morning, Kate woke up and grabbed Hammer and got red paint and air \ helium , string , and made a balloon for Grandpa. Thank you said Grandpa. And I need to tell you kids that ………. I’m going to get married !!! Yay for Grandpa! An I have one question…. how are we going to get Hammer down? On Monday Kate and Evan dressed up nice for Grandpa’s wedding to grandma, Ashley.
