MEGAN’S PLACE

A proposal to build a high-rise in Beaverbrook received a cool reception from some residents at a meeting of the Beaverbrook Community Association last week. About 100 residents turned out for the meeting to discuss the Teron Road development proposal on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Private developer Phil Bottriell, who owns about 1.6 hectares of land on Teron where his current house sits, backing onto March Road, Bethune Court and Bethune Way, spoke to residents about his plans to build a three-tiered condominium before sending an application to the city. “I wanted to talk with the community and the community association before going to the city,” he said. “We tried to come up with a concept…that would fit in with the community.” The condominium is proposed to house 174 units varying in size in a three-tier system: three to four storeys for the lowest tier, which would back onto Bethune Court, 12 to 14 storeys for the middle and highest tier, and eight storeys for the last tier. The
