c olor c oncep t The concept of color applied to the Planetarium Jakarta is the color of the analogue blue, purple, and purplish blue. The color of the analogue is a group of colors that co-exist side by side in the color wheel. The concept of color used will be dominated by dark colors to reflect the atmosphere of space. These colors will not be used at the same time, but each space with its main color. This is so that the interior of the Planetarium Jakarta has a color composition that is not too crowded and even creates an uncomfortable impression for those who see it.

bubble diagram

form c oncep t In the design of this Planetarium the form concept that is applied is a geometric shape especially a circle that has a concise, flowing, dynamic and fused appearance. This form was chosen because it can reflect a futuristic style or something that is oriented towards the future. The shape of the circle will be developed into an organic form to give the message of the universe created alamilically. Line repetition will also be used in the lobby to create a space atmosphere or a form made by humans and will occur intentionally.

image c oncep t Visitors' trips start from the moment they enter the Planetarium and groove to the last point, the star theater which is analogous to space. Like its purpose, this image concept is applied so that users can easily understand the conception of the universe. The narrative of exploring the universe is considered to be the most interesting for visitors of all ages.

The layout design of Jakarta Planetarium and Observatory, will be focused on the first floor, as a public area and where the main activity is carried out by visitors. Layouts are divided into four groups based on the concepts of each space. The first area is the lobby, the second area is exhibition one: the solar system, while the third area is exhibition two: stars and constellation and the last room is the implementation area.: the cosmic. The flow of road circulation that visitors pass through is designed to follow spaces one, two, three, and four. It is suggested that the conception of the universe that is applied to the interior of the Jakarta Planetarium and Observatory can be realized and learned by visitors.

lobby: the space ship The concept of space ship that is applied in the lobby area is clearly seen from the use of metal iron material as a treatment in the columns of the structure. The gray color that dominates the lobby, as well as the use of indirect light with the blue LED strip also strengthens the futuristic impression on the area that was first entered by the visitor.

THE solar system exhibiton

2 019 018

ORDER OF THE EIGHT PLANETS In exhibition I, the wall element is dominated by blue which comes from a custom printed wallpaper that contains images and information about the solar system.

THE FIRST MAN When entering this room, the first area that visitors will find is the first man or an expedition simulation on the Moon. Using virtual reality technology and VR walkers, visitors can experience the real expedition of setting foot and walking on the moon like an astronaut.. To get an atmosphere like being on the moon, the author uses printed vinyl with a gray Moon motif combined with a wall with a glossy black paint finish to give the impression of an endless sky. OLED screen technology is also applied to this area so that visitors who are not using virtual reality technology can also experience the expedition on the Moon. The OLED screen that curves vertically as if it requires visitors to look up to deepen the 360 degree experience used in the first man's area concept. Four virtual reality walkers that can be used by visitors by standing on them, also each named according to the names of the moons on Jupiter, namely Io, Europa, Ganymedes, and Kallisto. Jupiter's moon planet was chosen because it happened to have the same number of VR walkers. Naming according to the name of the satellite is also intended to provide information to visitors to find out the names of other months..

THE MARTIAN The next area is the martian area. Here visitors can experience farming on Mars as one way to prove the survival of the red planet. Equipped with augmented reality technology and haptic suit, visitors can see a picture of themselves using farming clothes that are used by astronauts and taking photos through screens that are above visitors. Photos taken, can be sent to the user's cellphone via Bluetooth technology at the booth right next to it. The placement of this second interaction zone, informs that the planet is the next place to be the object of research by astronauts, in order to find information about evidence of life that can be done by living things other than on Earth. To get an atmosphere like on Mars, the author uses printed vinyl material for the floor with a bright red Mars surface motif, to immediately tell that the augmented reality area is located on the Mars.

6 8 | F IN A L P R OJ E CT

ROTATION AND REVOLUTION The next area is a holographic area that displays images and information about the solar system with the help of hologram technology. Consists of a hologram table that can be controlled by visitors and an OLED screen that surrounds the table. Visitors can learn about the solar system in a three-dimensional picture with the help of the voice of the narrator through loudspeakers to explain in more detail. Holographic technology was chosen for this area, because it presents images in three dimensions and not two dimensions. Through this technology, it is expected that visitors can better imagine and absorb information. The description of the solar system will also become clearer so that the process of delivering information becomes more effective and efficient.

THE DARK MATTER The next room is a transition area with information about substances and dark energy. This room is dominated by black to symbolize the content of the space itself. Using projection technology, visitors will get information about dark matter. Projector technology was chosen because it can illustrate a two-dimensional picture of dark energy quite clearly, on the surface of the curved wall in this transition area ..

THE sTARS AND CONTELLATIONS exhibiton HOW THE STARS ARE BORN The next room is two showrooms, which have the concept of stars and constellations. The area that visitors meet first when entering this room is the how the stars are born area, with the help of three-dimensional projector technology, making a picture of a star birth video as if moving slowly. The three-dimensional projector technology will best describe the birth of a star compared to other technologies, because the image of the rotating effect that falls on translucent cloth media and exposed to the wind coming from the fan on the back will give a dramatic and noticeable moving effect. The use of different technologies in the show area is to create an interactive area with various variations, so that visitors of all levels of visitors can feel the use of the latest technology.

73 | F IN A L P R OJ E CT

2 018 019

IMPRESSION AREA: THE COSMIC The last room is the impression area or the Cosmic. This area is a place where visitors gather impressions, memories and ideas about the universe through experiences that have been passed from previous rooms. In this area there is an acrylic translucent rectangle which becomes the media highlighted by the projector surrounding it. There are four control devices, so that visitors can change the picture or color of the universe and galaxies according to their individual desires. Video mapping technology is used in this area to form a strong memory for visitors to the last area before entering the star theater or going home and exiting the Jakarta Planetarium. Video mapping is the most appropriate technology to be projected on uneven media, the images displayed are still accurate because they have been calculated on their respective fields. The rectangular shape that has different sizes and heights is a picture of the universe taken from the hubble telescope which is NASA's property
