From the outset the founding of the glassworks in the immediate vicinity of the world-famous spa town of Karlovy Vary, visited by a wealthy clientele, including royal families, predetermined the production to focus on the most demanding echelons. Thanks to their uniqueness Moser’s luxury beverage sets, decorative works and unique engravings won immediate admiration and respect, and to this day they are sought after by exceptional people all over the world. At home, in the Czech Republic, Moser is seen as the most luxurious Czech brand. Many generations have put their talent and heart into their work to build a strong tradition and make the name of Moser famous. This bowl, designed by the famous sculptor Siegmund Schütz, first came out in 1942. It is one of the designs that, at the time, formed the basis for a new product line tying in to the strength of tradition and masterly craftsmanship. The bowl is cut with an edge decoration and the demanding trilobate cut on the upper edge makes a strong expression.

In 1970, the author received the gold medal from the Bavarian State Award. Obě vázy pochází z roku 1963. Jsou ukázkovou tvorbou Luboše Meteláka, který využíval jednoduchých kónických váz pro vlastnoručně ryté stylizované motivy, výrazné rukopisem autora a kombinací figurální, reliéfní a lineární rytiny, kontrastem mezi leštěnými a matnými plochami.

a demonstration of the Luboš Metelák style that used simple conical vases for hand-engraved, stylised motifs; the author’s hallmark is a distinctive combination of figural, relief and linear engravings, a contrast between polished and matt surfaces.

Kolekce je broušená klínovými řezy po celém povrchu výrobku, čímž mu dodává jedinečný reliéf plný světla a optických efektů, tak charakteristických pro tvorbu autora. Z jednoduchého výrobku se tak stává umělecké dílo.

an ashtray and a jar, was made by the author in 1960 on the occasion of the XII triennial in Milan. The entire surface of each product in the collection has wedge-shaped cuts, giving it a unique relief full of light and optical effects that is so characteristic for the author’s work; thus transforming

Jeho překrásný vzhled tvořící v počátku kouli a postupem času rostoucí do gigantických výšek i jeho povrchové vrásnění, které jako by bylo přímo předurčeno pro ztvárnění pomocí klínového kotouče na křišťálovém polotovaru. Jednoduchost řezů společně s čistým tvarem dává vyniknout překrásné moserovské barevnosti křišťálu. Stejně tak práce se světlem a pronikajícím rastrem brusů vytváří

When designing the Carnegia collection I was inspired by the cactus species Carnegiea gigantea. Its beautiful appearance, starting off with a ball and, over time, growing to gigantic heights, as well as its surface wrinkles make it seem as though it was destined to be rendered using a wedge-shaped cutter on crystal. The simplicity of the cuts together with the purity of showcases the beautiful colours of Moser crystal. Similarly, the light penetrating the crystal with its cuts creates a unique atmosphere in the reflections on the walls of a room if the lamp is suspended.

The name of the JULIA set is inspired by the name of Ludwig Moser’s second wife and conjures up an image of fragility and grace within me. The KATYUSHA vases are based on a disruption of verticality. By tilting them, these common vases become strange crystal cannons, which is why I also named them after the legendary weapons from WWII. K vytvoření těchto váz mi byla inspirací ikonická tvorba Pieta Mondriana. Odkaz, jenž zanechal, je nesmrtelný. Jeho díla jsou využívána v různých designérských odvětvích, což značí o dokonalosti a nadčasovosti abstrakcí, které maloval. Spolu s Cézánem Mondrian dává důraz na každou jednotlivou plochu v obraze, čím dosahuje stejné váhy každého dílu. Myšlenka pojetí vody jako prvku a základu materiální existence mu vždy byla inspirací. A proto jsem se rozhodl, že váza bude přesně to pravé, co by mělo být nositelem jeho odkazu.

The inspiration to create these vases was the iconic work of Piet Mondrian. The legacy he left is immortal. His works are used in a variety of design industries, which indicates the excellence and timelessness of the abstractions he painted. Along with Cézán, Mondrian puts an emphasis on each individual area in the image, thus each work achieves the same weight. The idea of water as an element and the basis of material existence was always an inspiration to him. So that’s why I decided that the vase will have to be perfect, to be the bearer of his legacy. As an artist, creative absolutism is my goal. Therefore, I would like to disseminate this perfect style further. Klasicistní motiv je dokonale zvýrazněn jedinečnou kombinací vrstveného barevného křišťálu, který je následně náročně odrýván do jemných odstínů a valérů. Dílo tak působí velmi vnitřním prožitkem, který nás zanese do světa snění.
The motif is inspired by sleeping nymphs from Greek mythological sculpture. The master engraver has perfectly portrayed the strength and atmosphere of the moment, the inherent beauty. This classicist motif is perfectly highlighted with a unique combination of layered coloured crystal, which is subsequently etched away to reveal the subtle shades and tones. The work invokes a very internal experience that takes us into the world of dreams.

The work was two months in the making and the engraving alone took almost a month. Master engraver Milan Holubek masterfully captured every detail in the intricate motif of the God of Wine and Revelry in all his grandeur and beauty. The engraving is a unique play of light, a sculptural interpretation of the figure and the celebratory mood that invites one for a goblet of wine and uncommon friendship.

This painting is one of four surviving portraits that Leonardo painted. Using the demanding procedure of gradually scratching away at the dark blue crystal, master engraver Vlastimil Selinger achieved the precise chiaroscuro and character of the original. The engraving has a gentleness and pure finish that takes us back to the Renaissance and underlines the artistry of this famous work.

Obraz vznikl v období renesance kolem roku 1478 a je inspirován homérskými hymnami. Obraz zachycuje okamžik, kdy se Venuše vynoří z moře nesena na lastuře. Západní vítr ji nese ke břehu, kde ji jedna z Hór (bohyň ročních období) podává květinami posetý plášť. Obraz se skládá ze tří samostatných motivů, které jsme rozdělili na tři vázy – triptych. Jednotlivá díla s hlavním motivem, která dohromady tvoří jeden obraz Zrození Venuše. Na první váze – mistr Vladimír Skála ztvárnil dvojici letících zefyrů (bůh větru Zefyros a jeho žena Chloris), kteří symbolizují vášeň a spojují ducha s hmotou. Mistr rytec se na toto dílo připravoval několik měsíců studií postav a barevných odstínů, kterých docílil velmi citlivým odrýváním

The image originated in the Renaissance around 1478 and is inspired by the Homeric Hymns. The picture captures the moment when Venus emerges from the sea borne on a seashell. The west wind carries her to the shore, where one of the Horae (goddesses of the seasons) gives her a cloak studded with flowers. The image consists of three separate themes, which we have divided into three vases – a triptych. Each work has a main motif, which together make up one image of the Birth of Venus. On the first vase – Vladimir Skála has portrayed a pair of flying zephires (Zephyros God of the Wind and his wife Khloris), who symbolise passion and combine the spirit with matter. In preparation for this work the master engraver spent several months studying the figures and colour hues, which he achieved through a very sensitive scratching away at the layered colours. Thus breathing life and the strength of uniqueness into the motif.

The shape of the whisky set Cubice is inspired by the barrels in which the drink matures. The most distinctive morphology on the set is the bottle’s stopper in the shape of a cube reminiscent of the ice on the bottom, enclosed in the smooth barrel form of the glass.
