The University of St. La Salle Basic Education Unit (USLS-BEU) hosted a physical celebration of the 5th Senior High School Graduation Rites for the outgoing Grade 12 students of Liceo De La Salle on June 9 and 10 at the USLS Coliseum and live-streamed via their official Facebook page. The graduates from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand took part in the first two rounds on June 9, while those from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Technical-VocationalLivelihood (TVL)-Cookery, as well as Arts and Design (A&D) strands attended the second day of the schedule. When asked about his thoughts on the onsite ceremony, top-ranking graduate Sammi Gabriel Policarpio of STEM 12-N expressed, “We were glad to finally see our classmates, teachers, and most importantly, celebrate our accomplishments, yet the feeling was mixed. […] Overall though, it's a happy time in our lives to be able to celebrate the culmination of our senior high school and our personal achievements.” As last year’s graduates were given a mostly-virtual ceremony with lesser students per batch and no physical audience, BEU worked with twice as much effort to make a bigger celebration possible now that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has loosened their restrictions on mass gatherings nationwide.“It […] helped that USLS has released its Policy on Campus Entry and [face-to-face activities], determining who can participate [in] such activities. We did not have the luxury of time to do several days of practices, as we would usually do pre-pandemic,” shared BEU Principal Br. Alexander Ervin Diaz FSC, affirming that the school would be willing to organize a largerscale, hybrid graduation ceremony for next year with more days to practice for the participants. To ensure the safety of everyone present at the onsite celebration, BEU implemented the two guests per graduate policy in order to maintain proper social distance, the wearing of face masks for all attendees, and the specific vaccination requirements such as the Reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (RTPCR) testing for students and guests who have not yet gotten their doses.

“It was never about the competition. […] It was always about giving my hydras the opportunity to […] build camaraderie, and to [realize] their fullest potential— I’m happy and delighted [with] whatever results we got. The important thing is that we made memories […] that we will surely treasure forever,” expressed Ryba Moderacion, incoming House of Rouen coordinator.

The Golden Chimeras claimed a historic win after a close fight with the Blue Hydras as the Liceo Student Government (LSG) declared the House of Paris as champions for the House Cup of School Year (S.Y.) 2021–2022 via their official Facebook page. Tension was felt among the four houses as LSG revealed that the Chimeras narrowly beat the Hydras with 1,664 accumulated points compared to Rouen’s 1,640 points, followed by the Houses of Rheims and Parmenie who finished as 2nd and 3rd

runners-up with 1,477 and 1,312 points respectively. “In terms of having a close result against the House of Rouen, it only reflectsour houses' activeness in all competitions. I believe that both houses showed the values of being a true Lasallian, for it exhibited the eagerness of students' active participation to win and represent their house,” said Angel Tolog, incoming House of Paris coordinator.Thefour houses competed in numerous events throughout the year with Paris winning big in competitions such as “Larosalyano 2022: Champion’s Uprising” and “Buwan ng Wika: Panitikang Nasyonal”, pushing them to the top spot. “Helping my [coChimeras] build their confidence by honing their gifts and talents was crucial as we do our best and strive to reach greater heights. As the House of Paris always emphasizes: If the House of Paris believes in you, believe in yourself," Tolog added. As all four houses battled neck and neck, the House of Rouen steadily rose to regain their 1st

On the 5th of June, a vehicular accident transpired in which Joseph Floralde, a security guard working in Mandaluyong City, was struck by an SUV while overseeing traffic flow. The situation escalated as the footage revealed that when Floralde fell, the driver maneuvered over the security guard for the second time without halting. Upon rising public scrutiny, especially after the release of a dash cam tape, the case progressed to a game of justice—there were apparent delays in the execution of justice even though taped in the video was an actual crime. This incident is just a perfect example of the fragmented justice scheme. It seems like Padrino System, the biased favor towards the powerful and wealthy, is still a core component of the tainted Filipino culture and political climate. These deferrals in taking accountability become detrimental to the absolute pursuit of justice. Upon further probing, the authorities named the owner of the SUV, Jose Antonio San Vicente, a well-connected persona to a wealthy family. Also, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revealed that the alleged already had three antecedents of reckless driving in 2010, 2015, and 2016. The suspect recently surfaced in a press conference hosted by the Philippine National Police (PNP). This motion instigated talks concerning how the agency deliberately has given the Sanvicentes media time; meanwhile, the mass demands corrective justice. To add, PNP Officer-in-Charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. stated that on the side of the agency, the case is already ‘solved,’ getting their hands off the case, contrary to their hollers beforehand. Unfortunately, there are still these huge loopholes in the justice system that the powerful families, like the Sanvicentes, are taking advantage of. These issues of blatant inequality are still at their prime, and justice in the Philippines still bows to the rich and powerful. In the context of the political shift, one may conclude that the lack of mea culpa triggers another challenge in the checks and balances of the constitution. There are still creates of unfinished justice that still hide behind the shelter of power, still unsolved, and still obfuscated. Whether we like it or not, the truth had been manipulated—driven by a promising manifest— to decapitalize checks and balances further, leaning towards the empty realities.

Faithfully, we shall demand the mea culpa, above all. Firearms and gunshots— what’s a thing sharper than the piercing sound of bullets striking one’s skin? The bereaved families’ lament? Solicitude’s voice? Or the gruesome aftermath it can bore? All might differ in loudness; yet, ear-splitting likewise—akin to how the spate of killings in Bacolod City resonates louder than squad cars patrollingRecently,to-and-fro.macabre reports of nine shooting occurrences in June that resulted in seven deaths inundated papers and screens—begetting residents to be alarmed and throwing Bacolod into a state of chaos. In retaliation, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) implemented checkpoints and patrol systems intended to resolve the issue while protecting civilians, concomitantly. However, assailants accountable for the murders long remains unapprehended. And while policemen probe the transpiring malefaction, ridingin-tandem cases and alleged guns-for-hire augments fuel to the fire as perpetrators were mostly unknown gunmen on board a Thesemotorcycle.actions stagnate us in the precipice of this plight. Although police presence is conspicuous, the measures enacted may not guarantee the safety and security of Bacolodnons.

… " " Guns and Roses The Due Mea

Crimes and cops will remain nothing but merely two things crafted to meet until police action is fortified to keenly monitor, guard, and patrol not only for visibility but to facilitate pacification. By optimizing surveillance systems, solidifying the City Ordinance 832, series of 2017, an ordinance prohibiting riding-in-tandem practices, and enforcing RA 10591 which is a law penalizing illegal possession of firearms, we can curb crimes and seize offenders.Certainly, bullets perforate deep. Yet, what penetrates deeper is one veracious thought: There’s no such thing as peace and order in a crime-stained society. But there’s always a thing about amplifying justice amid series of gunshots—of laying roses where bullets hit.

Currently, a trial is in motion regarding the investigation of the case, where Sanvicente has to face raps, including Frustrated Murder, filed by several agencies, and driver’s license suspension in response to the ruling of the transportation regulator. Meanwhile, the victim, Floralde, is obliged to go through the hefty scrutiny of being a victim of not just an inhumane act but also delayed justice.

The case seems like the multiverses of Crispins and Basilios struggling against a multitude of Padre Damasos— the path they unwillingly chose just so they could thrive. Or perhaps, the literal depiction of the Capulets and the Montagues and the bourgeoise divide—a literal dyadic choice for some. That is, the struggle was never just between Floralde and the Sanvicentes; rather, it was the Filipinos, especially those in the margins of the Philippine classes, against the armageddon of inequity towards the less powerful—a scheme that needs fundamental probing and rationalization. The threat lies in the existence of an invisible barrier between the societal classes. So, it is not until people acknowledge this injustice that this problem will be conveyed to light. It should be a collective motion to stipulate an account of the severity and divulgence of the fragmented justice.

Preys of Injustice

The justice system is already defective, but it only worsens when you’re a part of the minorities who are less privileged.Theconstant oppression and microaggressions are not news to women. The patriarchy’s damage caused a widespread domino effect to the point that misogyny is deeply rooted in our society. Even the law is not helpful when women are against big names, so the least we can do is unlearn the hatred against women and help them fight for their rights.

Likewise, in the current situation where students mainly nest on the internet surface —unconsciously developing internet knowledge reliance. Unspoken but understood, online classes have become a haven for far too many honor roll students to normalize the habit of relying on the internet for answers to quizzes, activities, and exams; under these conditions, they excel in ways that are entirely possible. The ability to meticulously think and form opinions through intellect is combated by the progressive dependence on huge sources of information available at the click of a Althoughfinger. some students just have the natural aptitude for academic study, there are those who straightforwardly rely on the convenience of the internet to mirror the pool of knowledge embedded already in the depths of the cyberscape. Mere dependence on existential wisdom outweighs substantial efforts, resulting in declining academic competence, including the desolation of communicative skills, diminishing innovative thinking, and deteriorating creative Utilizingfaculties. internet technologies affords immensely transformative possibilities across almost every aspect of modern society. But perhaps, promulgating bad habits such as reliance on ready-made solutions found on the internet limits students' sterling ability to thrive efficiently until the only thing left to consider is what you have truly learned from your educational competencies. An appetite for cheating and internet dependency does not satisfy one’s competence and proficiency. Particularly as students, we should be conscious of the educational implications of our reliance on online cheating habits— both because modern technological information is a ubiquitous suite, and we will disproportionately bear their consequences on our future intellectual trades and academic endeavors.

OPINION 3 KAPAWA THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH STUDENT PUBLICATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. LA SALLE - SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL VOLUME 6 ISSUE 16 MARCH TO JUNE 2022

It has been almost two school cycles since the Department of Education (DepEd) introduced the mass implementation of distance education. Whether in modular or online instruction, it significantly changed the country’s educational landscape—dismayingly decapitated as shown in the system's performance compared to other developed countries. Despite this, another loud concern has been raised these past weeks: a motion to reset or even void the K-12 Philippine Basic Education System. Although the system has shortcomings, the possibility of resetting it is illogical. Going back to square one is never an option in a fast-paced society—especially in the country's current economic state. Shutting it down would make another student batch that seemed to be treated as lab rats—merely used for the painstaking experimental phase. Just this year, the first batch of K-12 students graduated from college. Unfortunately, the promised ambition‘trabaho-negosyo-kolehiyo’oftheDepEdwas never and far from being realized—cases of low employment and poverty still are a sore to the Philippine economy even before COVID-19 has happened. But in retrospect, improvements have led to the current generation of students being more familiar with the complexity of fundamental education. In reality, what the system needs is further support. The curriculum is said to be spiraled—designed to cater to the developmental growth of the students— proven in other countries, purposively, the model should work. Support would mean that there should be further probing into the depths of curriculum and instruction— should they focus on the grassroots of these crises—to further identify deficiencies that are detrimental to the present disagreeable performance of basic education. Also, it has been argued that investing in the facilities that would serve as the training ground would be necessary to produce quality students. It's a straightforward analogy: giving students practical experience would be comparable to applying theoretical knowledge in industries, workplaces, and higher-order academics. So, whether the removal of K-12 is just another trend being pedaled by the notorious trolls, one thing is sure: Education will never be the same. It is liberating, transitional, and adaptive to the progressive society. Instead of hoping to produce stellar graduates, why don’t we start with transformative education first?

As per the Philippine Statistics Authority's 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey, one in every four Filipino women aged 15 to 49 has suffered physical, emotional, or sexual assault from their intimate partner. As a result, most victims choose to stay silent instead of holding their abusers accountable—out of fear of becoming the laughing stock. Meanwhile, victims who speak up become the center of cruel interrogations or remarks during trials. An epitome of this dynamic is the Depp-Heard case. Despite Heard was found guilty, Depp is not a total saint either—what happened between them was found to be a mutual abuse. Nonetheless, he was infantilized and favored by the media and netizens, while Heard became a victim of memes and trolls; their story is just another chapter of women getting the shorter end of the stick. As degrading as it is, some even perceive women as objects to satisfy men themselves; it's high time to denounce rape culture, for victims are being blamed— serving as preys of the cruel mentality and crimes, society is trying to conceal. Another case where the man received “special treatment” is the murder of Jennifer Laude, a transwoman, where the surveyed assailant, Pemberton, was granted an 'absolute pardon' by Former President Rodrigo Duterte. The pardon wasn’t only an insult to Laude but the LGBTQIA+ community and other victims of assault as well. As long as criminals like Pemberton walks free without remorse, the world will not thrive.Unless we help amplify the victims’ voices when seeking justice, we are nothing but bystanders. We should remember that if we make excuses for the perpetrators instead of holding them accountable, we only contribute to their disgusting behavior. " "

USLS acquires DepEd approval for F2F, prepares for blended learning next school year

The University of St. La Salle - Basic Education Unit (USLSBEU) obtained approval from the Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office VI to implement limited face-to-face classes for the upcoming School Year (S.Y.) 2022–2023 on Apr. 1 during an onsite visit to the New Integrated School (IS) Building at the USLS campus. The validation of the proposal, attended by several DepEd representatives and BEU administrators, was completed as part of the DepEd Regional Evaluation for Limited Face-to-Face Classes, marking the university as the first private school in Bacolod City authorized by the department to run suchMoreoperations.thanyears into the pandemic, our Lasallian community has kept the faith and remained committed to our Education Mission. We are now ready to gradually reopen [the] USLS campus and transition into post-pandemic face-to-face interactions," said Br. Joaquin Severino "Kenneth" Martinez FSC, DMin, at his End of the School Year Letter to Parents on May 25. During the ocular visit and campus inspection on Mar. 3, DepEd Schools Division of Bacolod City assessed the classrooms and laboratories to be used by select grades 9, 11, and 12 students in preparation for the conduct of the simulation of physical classes on the Fourth Quarter of S.Y. 2021–2022. These sessions were then hosted on Apr. 18, 25, and May 2 after BEU primed the involved students during an Orientation on the Pilot Implementation of Limited Face-to-Face Classes for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) 11 and 12 on Apr. 8 at the Primary Covered Court and New IS Building. "In light of the recently conducted face-toface simulation, I had the opportunity to witness and utilize the new facilities that the school offers. I have only worked and stayed at the chemistry lab, and it is fully equipped with everything the students will need when the blended learning program starts. The school also strictly observed proper social distancing and the wearing of the appropriate masks. [...] I believe the school is prepared for the new set-up next school year," replied Natasha Gea, a STEM 11-L student, when asked about her experiences during the F2F simulation. Capping the entire program off on May 6, USLS-BEU conducted the Culminating Activity of the Face-to-Face Classes Simulation at the Primary Covered Court to acknowledge and give certificates of appreciation to the administrators and staff, as well as the participating Grade 11 and 12 students who took part in the event. "Thank you for your enduring support towards achieving our directions in the USLS Basic Education Unit. Your support has been instrumental in streamlining the BEU, achieving our vision to become future-ready in teaching and learning, and exemplifying the values of integrity, excellence, and commitment," expressed the Principal's Council in their End of School Year 2021–2022 Memo on June 2. As a fruit of their extensive efforts to ensure the health and safety of the Lasallian community amidst the shift, BEU has announced the implementation of blended learning for S.Y. 2022–2023, which aims to provide flexible and adaptive experiences through both online and onsite modalities.

The idea of a digital universe possibly sounds like something out of a fictional novel. Moreover, the slim hope of deconstructing existing natural impediments in order to assess an interactive realm is alluring. New social contexts can now, perhaps for the first time in technology's existence, be driven by human creativity. Still, before we can realize this dystopian ideal, strong frameworks must therefore be established in order to guarantee the scientific approach as well as what counts in the end: the patient in the current world.

As science advances, technology and virtual communities are progressively presenting phenomenal prospects for human support and care. Virtual worlds are primarily deemed to be characterized as ecstatic revolutionary hype— mostly perceived as signs of an impending paradise of unexpected possibilities, hints of a forthcoming futuristic world of dehumanization, or gimmicks of a passing trend because of how groundbreaking they appear to be. Howbeit, it can also offer a viable remedy as a catalyst for social and interactive healthcare interoperability. Many eXtended Reality (XR) health and wellness companies are starting to develop their own holistic alternatives, along with collaboration and expanding solutions built on the virtual world. This is especially relevant in response to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused a growth in the need for psychological health resources for people dealing with confinement, depression, and other difficulties. For instance, to develop innovative approaches for patients, particularly for the condition which influences how individuals behave known as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Akili Interactive recently partnered up with Roblox. Akili Interactive is a ten-year-old company that develops the racing game EndeavorRx, which physicians can prescribe for children between the ages of 8 and 12. De la Peña encouraged the people in the industry as well as their partners in the government to support this E-Jeepney venture, “We call on our partners in government and in the private sector to come up with creative support mechanisms, like financing and leasing, so that the manufacturing of the vehicle or its components could be more attractive for investors, and will eventually benefit the operators and drivers and the riding public.”Moreover, these modernized jeepneys use new materials and locally-made lithium-ion batteries as an alternative to fossil fuel power, designed with an electronic management system.

“On this, e-jeepneys could provide low maintenance costs but how could a regular jeepney driver feasibly afford upgrades, which is the e-jeepney itself. In the matters of congestion, feasibility, and costs, the e-jeepney will have to prove its worth on the motorway, to see if anything has changed from bad to good, or worse,” Matthew Franz Trinidad of HUMSS 12-B shared his thoughts on having the E-Jeepneys as the new mode of public transportation. Additionally, these green-colored vehicles were said to continue on being manufactured by a local private company, ToJo Motors, and are still open to be adopted by other local manufacturers.

With science and a remarkable amount of research and testing, the world— filled with rocks, woods, and valleys before— turned into a hospitable home of renowned curers of most discovered diseases. Originally named as Stein–Leventhal syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was first diagnosed by American gynecologists, Dr. Irving F. Stein, Sr. and Michael L. Leventhal in 1935—basing their description on the associated symptoms such as facial weight gain, irregular periods, and large ovaries with an abundance of eggs—called cysts. Although this condition is very common, the exact root cause of PCOS remains unknown. However, it was concluded that having a relative who was diagnosed with it in the family heightens the chances of one acquiring it—influencing generations of women who had to live with the terrorizing side effects that include infertility, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Unfortunately, even with the wisest of doctors and most brilliant scientists, PCOS has no cure yet. It is reported to be a disease with lifelong symptoms, creating a major impact on the patient’s quality of life. Since PCOS is the most common hormonal problem for women, living with it includes a bred-in-the-bone commitment to an everyday routine of a lifestyle fitted for the ailment. However, this does not imply that there is nothing that can be done.

Can Curb Climate Change

Currently, PCOS is managed with oral contraceptives to help the regulation of their menstrual flow and a change in one’s diet to help one’s body use insulin more efficiently, lower blood glucose levels, and aid them in ovulating.

Yet, amidst the difficulties PCOS may bring, women continue to have their heads up high and thrive to achieve the best in this world while accepting their diagnosis and the effects that came along with it. Whereas patients like Sasha, being open about how it impacts you personally and others, is one of the keys to creating opportunities and beginning life-altering changes for a finerForsolution.the planet is still revolving and breakthroughs in the medical field will continue to uncover information that might cure illnesses that are currently incurable. No words may describe the struggles patients had to deal with diseases like PCOS, but as long as the quest for the medication takes place—a spark of hope will constantly shine to encourage one in giving their body a chance.

KYLE LENARD A. MANGUBAT

In the line of numerous published stories about women’s experiences with PCOS, Microbiologist and PCOS survivor Sasha Ottey struck the community the most for being an inspiration as she founded the National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association to emphasize the seriousness of this syndrome, the need for further research, and the improvement of treatment.

“The first cases of monkeypox will be admitted at RITM [...] we have prepared some guidelines on the flow of admission of suspect cases and their assigned rooms, sample collection and testing of monkeypox cases, and reporting and surveillance,” stated by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) Director Dr. Celia Carlos on May 30.

Change is inevitable—an actuality that goes without conveying; an intrinsic reality for every object— biological or inanimate—ever created. It can be a boon; yet, it can also be the bane of every being’s existence. And if the changes occurring are longterm shifts in global temperatures and weather patterns, then people must know it is a menace all needs not to neglect. Akin to a deep-rooted illness that might be terminal when treated frivolously, climate change is forsooth existing. But many remain deeming it as a myth, controverting the scientific consensus that it’s truly transpiring. While numerous are rigid—shunning climate action, scientists constantly coalesces—contriving ways to mitigate this predicament. Modeling historical biomass as a way to buffer climate change, a groundbreaking study was steered by Ann Raiho of the University of Maryland's Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC), alongside an international roster of scientists. With this, they refashioned the natural model and momentum of carbon storage, manifesting forest evolution over ages and contributing to Earth's carbon equilibrium—an essential element to cinch a stable climate.

While most of the disease’s natural history remained unclear, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) said that monkeypox did not originate from monkeys, it is a zoonotic disease in which primary infections are caused by contact with infected animals such as rodents and primates, however, the name was derived when it was first discovered in 1958 after observing colonies of monkeys wherein researchers came across of two pox-like diseases. “The LGUs and DOH are boosting efforts to prepare for monkeypox so that they can contain it immediately if it enters the country,” PHAPI President Rene Jose de Grano expressed.

RESTORATION. Scientists invent a Bayesian model for lignocellulosic biomass to acquire a stable climate.

Although the disease was not reported to be in the nation yet, it is within 23 non-endemic nations wherein monkeypox was not prevalent before, therefore, experts were mandated to brace for probable cases since the extent of the infection is yet to be determined because there are currently no vaccines approved and authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Speaking that the primitive benchmark for explaining forests was erroneous, the team developed ReFAB (Reconstructing Forest Aboveground Biomass), a Bayesian model quantifying aboveground lignocellulosic biomass based on periods of fossil microgametophytes or pollen fragments in deposits. Further, this study discovered that the proliferation of forested biomes and the population of high-biomass tree species were two distinct ecological reactions that spurred carbon accumulation. This woody biomass that spent millennia to develop took just less than two centuries to decimate. But fortunately, this breakthrough may alter how woodlands are managed to lessen climate change’s ramifications. This reconstruction reinforces claims that forests' high-biomass species play a substantial role in carbon sequestration and ought to be conserved. Climate change has been a bane of everything’s existence. Yet, one beneficial change to countervail it could be the modification of forest regulation—a remedy to Earth’s deep-seated illness and a change long-awaited.

Amidst the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the president of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPI) stated that a possible surge of a rare disease caused by the monkeypox virus had put the country’s government agencies and hospitals on high alert for when the said virus sets foot in the Philippines on May 28.

Agony and chaos enlighten most people to appreciate what they have. So, to ease a wobbly marble, little white lies sometimes emerge to calm occurrences. However, can they do the trick in the long run once they grow wings and become harder to keep? Some may compare authenticity to a poorly illuminated road that leads to a cold, pitchblack future. With the foreboding darkness fueling anxiety, the seemingly facile route is the easiest way out for a few folks. "People tell white lies to [...] soften the impact of a horrendous reality. Most of us are instinctively inclined to avoid having others face something unpleasant. We even went so far as to trump up a myriad of tales that might help someone get over what had transpired at that moment [...]," says Fritz Banguanga of STEM 11-B. Banguanga also expresses that people tend to fall for the glorious glaze in a sugarcoated truth only to find themselves entangled in a cage of needles. Hence, the doer is not free from the repercussions of their actions."Thispractice could lead to an unpropitious scenario in which someone loses their trust, [...] it could sabotage relationships with friends and family members. So with [honesty], we can hand out to people a downright version of the truth that will prop them up to enroot, bear fruit, and notch up coping skills," he explains.

June is famous for its pigments, but what about the protest? To some outside the fight, Pride means nothing but loud fanfare, carefree marching, lucent costumes, all style with no substance. In Bacolod City, recent conservative efforts to suppress pride aligned with such beliefs failed after the celebration bloomed. Among the loud-andproud participants, in an umber bodysuit hugged by gold, was St. Taura. With every click of her heels, Taura had the people’s attention around her manicured fingers, gracing the stage in a drag extravaganza. But after all the festivities, from Taura’s swaths of glitter—emerges a Lasallian named Moi.

INTRODUCIN G MO I A former Humanista from Liceo De La Salle’s halls, Moi describes himself as a 21-year-old queer kid, “unapologetically expressive […] at the right time and place,” in his words. Moi reminisces when the Lasallian community helps him take St. Taura by the horns and steer her into greatness: “I was surrounded by creative people and supportive professors before I started doing drag. Coming from [the Humanities and Social Sciences] strand, we’ve had plays, art classes, and even school events that I considered as main challenges [as they say on RuPaul’s Drag AlwaysRace].”effervescent, competitive, and never serving you half-baked, Moi walked the school like it was one big drag competition. To him, it was— minus the drag, of course.

Thus, one must see that denial of all hazards is a devious, convoluted maze of junctions. Although the verdict of actuality may seem harsh to most, it is undeniably effective enlightenment. After all, presenting a terrible surface is less lethal than a facade with a rotten background. Julia Marie Acosta from STEM 11-F also shares the same sentiment. "[...] Humans as we are, though our feelings are valid, accepting the truth is part of growth. Even when it is a bitter pill to swallow [...], rejecting reality might only cause repercussions. I believe [...] recognizing the uncomfortable is better than living in a tangled web of deception," she says.

“Though you don’t have to be a [performer] or even queer to talk about issues like discrimination […] drag has [always been a platform to do so],” Moi concludes. “[In the end,] drag is a protest! It is a slap to […] people’s view of what seems to be normal.”

WE’RE ALL BORN NAKED As a supermodel of the world, RuPaul, says: we’re all born naked while the rest is drag; anything you put on before going into the world is entirely up to you—whether it's the school uniform like Moi’s or a full beat and a wig like Taura. However, long-held prejudices distort drag's meaning into one of perversion, neglecting self-expression—an impact that also affects Pride; some even ride the rainbow without acknowledging the prior storms. While Moi welcomes both parties into his world, he gives some lessons in drag etiquette: “It is important for everyone to learn about […] Pride and its culture in any way, not just through drag,” he elaborates. “It is not just about the ‘yas!” and the ‘werk it!’ It is [also about] the visibility, representation, and […] awareness of everyone.”

THE REST IS DRAG Indeed, drag’s innate ties to politics are undeniable. The act of being queer, nonconforming to cisheteronormativity, is revolutionary itself. Moi agrees, but simply being isn’t enough when you could be acting too. Moi equates passive participation to “[...] sitting down and quietly watching the world crumble and burn when you could’ve changed something in the first place.” This concept doesn’t only apply to the plights among the queer community. With recent injustices affecting other minority communities, Moi emphasizes the importance of intersectionality, standing with other discriminated folk for being the outlier of the white, straight, cisgender male standard.ToMoi Taura, everything is political, in a way, not just drag. Beneath her winged liner and piercing eyes is a critical brain striving to raise issues and demand awareness of ravaging injustice.

Concurrently, Acosta expounds on the difference between being tenderly honest and brutally blunt, wherein the latter lacks politeness. Still, by being gentle and pure, we may be able to grow closer to it. To wrap her takes up, she emphasizes communication's essence and valuing others’ sentiments.Perhaps, the question of whether to conceal reality or bear with its harshness arises from within: if we need a sweet lie or a bitter truth? Since it propels with both grim and beauty, it's best to proceed meticulously. Ergo, viewing both ends of a crossroads quandary, truth is everything and nothing at the same time because most people will still look at it the way they like.

Albeit Poblador and Laguitan persevered on different paths, their trials and tribulations have enabled them to become the best version of themselves—the people of action. It's worth noting from their experiences that no matter what happens to a person's fate, there's always the optimum moment to look far beyond the horizon—and consider what tomorrow may bring.

FLY IN THE OINTMENT Anyhow, we won't know the taste of success until we can contrast it with failure. With regret being that painful yet necessary stepping stone to land on, we possess a driving force that keeps things behind the line; this is what Jasper Laguitan, a STEM student-achiever, has in mind from time to time.

The latest movie installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a grandiose spectacle catapulting the franchise into new possibilities—but at what cost? Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the limited TV series WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness takes us on a journey through the ever-expanding Marvel worldbuilding. We travel alongside Stephen Strange and the newest super-kid on the block, America Chavez, as they flee from a multiversal threat through a multitude of alternate realities. In contrast to his “Spider-Man” trilogy, director Sam Raimi's take on the sorcerer incorporates elements from the horror genre in the second Doctor Strange solo film. His cinematic flares and campiness drizzle throughout the movie, which visually differentiates it from previous Marvel spectacles. Meanwhile, actress Elizabeth Olsen’s performance as the Scarlet Witch was a standout. Olsen shows how much skill and talent she possesses in portraying the enchantress as one of the franchise’s most powerful beings. Beside her is newcomer Xochitl Gomez, who plays America Chavez and gives a virtuoso performance despite the strain surrounding their character’s writing. Regardless of its strengths, the film felt lacking. The writing seems to fall short, leading to inconsistency in conveying the threats at hand. What could have been a fresh new take from the entertainment company falls victim to its typical formulaic sequences paired with disheveled writing. A multiversal movie offers filmmakers and writers limitless exploration of the bounds of reality and heroic tales. However, Doctor Strange did not seem to utilize this electrifying route. While the film further expands the realms of its cinematic universe, it seems plagued with the same issues its predecessors have faced. Raimi has offered something visually new to the plate—from cinematography to fight sequences. Yet the movie still fails to become revolutionary in this new phase of Marvel content and live up to what could have been a new approach to superhero blockbusters.

Nonetheless, she conquered these challenges to become the woman she is now. After disclosing her struggles, Poblador continues by giving a message to her younger self. She advises “little Cindy” that even though life will never be troublefree, she should accept it, face it head-on, and prove to everyone that she’s an unstoppable force of nature. Indeed, looking back on the people we used to be can bring out a strange nostalgic feeling.

Although there are different facets to one’s existence, one thing is for sure: change and time are two coexisting terms the majority of us are already familiar with. It’s because when one era ends, some of us shed the skin of our previous selves who have already served their purpose.

“I believe that encountering failures is a part of life's complex nature and that such obstacles help us better ourselves. As much as we want to strive for perfection, there will always be times wherein we inevitably make mistakes; this could cause self-doubt and leave us on the brink of giving up,” Laguitan says. On top of that, he thinks failures indirectly illuminate helpful drills in avoiding past mistakes from occurring again. Such also reminds most people that they are simply human and exist “in a world normally filled with pages of ups and downs.” Hence, failure’s requisite in attempts to bring home the gold.

KAPAWA Do you think social media platforms and users should be held accountable for amplifying disinformation?

It is undeniable that the internet is one of the primary sources of information today. Every day, [lots of] individuals use their free time to browse the internet and spend time on social media platforms. As a result, there are chances of coming across and spreading false information on [various] social media platforms. Withal I believe social media platforms and users should be held accountable for amplifying disinformation. As internet users, we must also take accountability for what we obtain and share online. I believe people can filter what they publish on the internet [for the public]. We all have the right to free speech, but having a sense of responsibility within oneself and implementing a system of regulations to manage social media platforms is not impossible.

As an ethics professor, one of the things I teach my students is the importance of accountability and transparency. For our country to function efficiently, people must [seek to] follow the set policies and regulations as law-abiding citizens. Thus, there is a need for an intervention between the government and social media platforms to create initiatives that will stop the ongoing widespread disinformation. Therefore, I firmly believe it is time for the Philippines to have laws to end the spread of fake news and other forms of disinformation in our nation.

Yes! Nowadays, social media is considered a potent tool. Most people use it as a communication channel for entrepreneurship, marketing, entertainment, and so much more. Indeed, social media has changed the way we live. As a responsible social media user, I use my platform to express myself, advocating for specific causes like volunteering in various charitable initiatives, acting upon our environmental problems through innovation and sustainability, and empowering the youth with the importance of education. If used decently, social media can bring positive and wholesome changes. However, one of the problems in our country right now is the acceleration and circulation of fake news on social media.

Disinformation can cause more harm than good; it's not worth the attention, likes, or reactions. Considering how much the population uses social media, it's important to state facts rather than spread confusion, which may lead to tension. We were taught at a young age about valid information and the importance of research. However, with the decline of people’s attention span nowadays, even a simple search on Google is often not considered when discovering new information with questionable validation.

As a result, social media platforms and users should be held accountable for the information they obtain before disseminating it. Not only does it causes backlash due to false information, but those affected by it may influence negative beliefs, spread scams, and even harm themselves and the online or offline environment.

A paradigm shift happened; journalists and truth-tellers like me were treated like "trolls" and labeled unethical and biased. While paid "trolls" and vloggers were said to have received accreditation to enter and cover the situation in Malacañang. It's no longer a problem of ethics but of "who's who"—who's speaking the truth and who isn't. [...] It’s not only the fault of consumers but the collaborative work of people who hold large machinery and own the power to control and filter the truth.

Social media platforms work globally and are defined by the users who contribute to their system, so blaming an algorithm for applying misinformation won't do much. In that case, I don't believe it would be entirely the fault of the platforms. Though some conscious users who purposely spread false information could be accountable for its spread, taking time to research and understand from reliable sources can solve lots of these common social media problems—depending on the situation. While I think both parties may be at fault, that doesn't mean it's solely the fault of one or the other per se; there are factors like malicious intent or perhaps unawareness of the facts presented before the person spreads fake news.

It’s a yes. Social media platforms and users should be accountable because disinformation leads to chaos; it can ruin an accused person’s image, reputation, and career. With that, we should research [our subject] so that we won't encounter fans or people fighting with one another. Also, we should have multiple sources to compare that are reliable and legit. Since most people are always on social media due to the pandemic, disinformation spreads fast due to social media users interacting with the said posts until it spreads like a virus. So, let’s make sure to think before we click.

Alongside holding consumers accountable for intaking fake news, we shall reciprocate the same energy and call for an even higher form of accountability to the perpetrators [of these]. These days are the dark days of the truth—the machinery of fake news tends to erase it and push false and manipulated narratives favoring someone in authority. Many sugarcoated versions of history have sprouted out everywhere when there’s no concrete evidence to back it up.

Additionally, Filipinos would have the chance to grasp onto sports memorabilia like nostalgic trading cards with the thought of growing values, since NFTs and cryptocurrencies, in general, are still investments at the end of the day. “During the preparations, my greatest achievement is being able to lead our department to create posters and videos to update [and excite] the Liceo students regarding the activity. I am [most] proud of all the people I worked with who made Larosalyano possible: our layout artists, commissioners on communications, photographers, video editors, and of course the organizers and facilitators who made such a monumental project a success,” says the head of the Liceo Student Government’s Department of Public Relations, Juan Javier Bonnin. Student leaders like Bonnin conquered the challenges despite the risks that limit their movements. Larosalyano’s behind-the-scenes is not entirely smooth-sailing; some instances tested their mind, ability to cope, and critical thinking skills. Nonetheless, Bonnin is still positive that Larosalyano was a success and a memorable experience that participants will cherish in the years to come. Through it all, young leaders like him have proven their capability to continue ensuring the event’s success and establish an avenue that brings the best out of the participants.

Two years have passed since the lockdown that drastically changed our way of living, but Larosalyano has proven that Lasallians continue to walk forward and rise as champions, uprising from any obstacles and challenges they step on.

To N-F-T and Beyond?

REIGNITED. Larosalyano 2022: Champions’ Uprising rekindled athletic spirits with the recommencement of on-site sporting events. We live every year of our lives as if we’re stuck on a wheel—an endless cycle of highs and lows. On some days, we win; on others, we gain another lesson to learn. While most obstacles seem insurmountable at first sight, some people refuse to back down in pursuing triumph. With the theme “Larosalyano 2022: Champions’ Uprising,” Lasallians of S.Y. 2021–2022 proved they’re one of those who don’t easily back down from challenges. Now that on-site events such as swimming, volleyball, and badminton are slowly bouncing back, Liceo students welcomed Larosalyano with conviviality. Since there are various activities for the students, lots of Lasallians grabbed the opportunity to showcase their skills outside academics. It was quite a challenging time for student-athletes, yet it was also an opportunity for them to thrive. “The most challenging part for me [during Larosalyano] was staying consistent and playing well for 7–8 hours straight. It was also challenging for me as the team captain to keep our team morale high and [keeping] the chemistry up,” says John Timothy Rito from the House of Paris, who participated in the Valorant tournament.

When asked about what the most memorable thing about participating in the event was, Rito emphasized that it was when they came close to winning and pushed themselves along with the victors to their maximum potential to make it far in the tournament. It was indeed an event that tested students to their limits, but the experience made a lasting impression on many participants—a memory they’ll like to visit from time to time in the future. Ivan Mercado from Rouen shares the same sentiment about Larosalyano being one of the most memorable events for S.Y. 2021–2022. “As the team captain, the most memorable thing I experienced was [...] when we reached the Championship round against Paris. [...] Even though I suffered an injury in the [...] championship match, I was [...] relieved by my team’s dedication and determination [to win] despite not having the leadership of their [team] captain inside the court,” he expounds. On the other hand, this event isn’t just a major one for student-athletes but also for the people behind courts that made it happen.

labeled as “unique” since these cannot be broken down into smaller items with summed corresponding values— technically irreplaceable and unduplicatable due to the cryptographic signature etched within. In terms of sports, NFTs are used by teams, associations, and leagues as a tool for increasing fan engagements and mending the crippled industry—especially when sporting businesses took an unexpected half-time break around two years prior. Although the topic of cryptocurrency is something many have a hard time wrapping their heads around, I would say that NFTs have the capability to define and shape the future of the sports industry—particularly in the Philippines with play-to-earn games like Axie Infinity already infiltrating the market. In the local setting, these assets open innovative opportunities for athletes and even university teams to garner interest from investors, hopefully leading to improved facilities among training centers in the long run.

It was a spectacular showdown of skills and might in taking down each other’s turrets and slaying each team’s heroes.

“At first, I joined for fun. But after I saw [how passionate my teammates were to win], it [brought] out the fire in me to […] strive hard to win. Most of all, I really want to experience competitive games and I also [want] to represent our house,” Rabala's take on why he joined one of the major games in this year’s Larosalyano. With the pandemic cases going down, the University of St. La Salle (USLS) will be having its limited face-to-face classes starting the next school year. The potential on how the university will conduct Esports and other virtual games in the upcoming Larosalyanos with changes and new guidelines is still in question.

Samgyupsal: one of the winning factors in Valorant championships

In a battle of prowess and dominance, the Golden Chimeras rose to the occasion and were declared victors with the Blue Hydras coming in a close second in the concluded “Larosalyano 2022: Champions’ Uprising” on April 6–9.As the four houses clashed in numerous events, the House of Paris emerged triumphant after garnering 1,055 accumulated points, followed by the houses of Rouen, Rheims, and Parmenie finishing as runners-up with 1,040, 900, and 855 points, respectively.TheHouse of Paris won the Table Tennis Boys, Badminton Girls and Boys, Swimming, Volleyball Boys and Girls, League of Legends, and Typeracer events, propelling them to the top of the leaderboard.“Winning Larosalyano indicates not just the achievement of an individual, but having the triumph as one House of Paris Community. PROFICIENT. Kobe Rabala of the House of Rouen earned two MVP titles during the MLBB tournament after impressive performances.

Undefeated until the semifinals, the House of Parmenie sealed their title as the champions of the “Larosalyano 2022: Champions' Uprising” Valorant Tournament after a 2-0 clean-sweep during the game seven finals on April 7, streamed through the respective Facebook page of the said tournament. After a teetering game six semi-finals match against the House of Paris, the Griffins were able to silence their opponents and bag the trophy with ratios of 13:9 and 13:7 in round one and two, respectively. In both games, the geometric and anglebased agent, Sova, was used by both of Paris’ and Parmenie’s MVPs in the said tournament, hinting their supreme value of importance of the said agent’s ability to operate pre and post-plant situations, showing in Green Griffin Patrick “Likcuid” Paez’s impressive game seven performance with a KDA ratio of 19/11/10. “There was [...] a small bet to motivate the team, where if anyone [would be] able to [complete] an ace, the whole team would be treated to samgyupsal for lunch,” included Sheloe Treyes, the House of Parmenie Coordinator to explain on how they motivated their players.Since the advent of September of the previous year, the House of Parmenie has already been scouting for athletes to compete in the inevitable Larosalyano, of which both houses saw as the major advantage of the winner of the tourney. “It all [came] down to who [had] the better game on that day, you can’t predetermine who wins the series because it’s a game, you have no idea who pops off [...] and who plays [inconsistently] in the next,” said Chimera Ean Gonzales, exclaiming about what could’ve been done better when given a second chance to compete with their rivals. Game seven being the deciding factor for who takes the championship title, bent both parties on edge, as through the bracketing system, both the House of Paris and Parmenie were one match-up win away from sealing their fate. “The key strategies during that game were to pick agents we felt good playing, adjust to the way Paris played, and just feel free so that the good energy and communication would amplify into winning gameplay,” said Iñigo Henares when asked about their strategies in the finals. In one of their fated match-ups, as the team was one kill away from securing the team’s samgyupsal lunch date, Gonzales was able to deny Henares’ ace of which both athletes, also long-term friends, chuckled directly after the conclusion of the said Larosalyano, round. being a legacy brought upon Liceode La Salle in response to the pandemic, could only be seen as tradition in today’s terms and it’s angled to make another appearance in 2023.

With Mobile Legends being one of the most popular mobile online games in Southeast Asia especially the Philippines, it is without a doubt a game that captured the hearts of many Filipinos regardless of their gender and age. Livestreamed via Facebook Live on April 8, MLBB made its appearance on “Larosalyano 2022: Champions' Uprising” as one of its events, becoming a window of opportunity for Lasallians to build camaraderie while showing their prowess in Esports. The one-day tournament was packed with exciting plays and shot calls from players hailing from the four different houses of Paris, Parmenie, Rheims, and Rouen, captivating the viewers from chaotic team fights to clutch lord steals. “It was fun and competitive. Despite [only having a limited] time to practice, we tried our best to excel in this competition and also it [brought] out the best in us. Following the adjustment of all sports in line with the new normalcy brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, a few individual and team-based sports were granted the privilege to have an onsite game during this year's Larosolyano. Many Lasallians were beaming with pride as "Larosalyano 2022: Champions' Uprising", which was from April 6 to 9, brought the ongoing rivalry even more to the forefront with selected onsite games between the Larosalyano, the online version of the pre-COVID-19 Liceolympics, is one of the most anticipated events in school. This time, the institution has set new protocols and standards in public health and adopted the conditions that uphold the safety and security of everyone. For that reason, this year's events are not limited only to the cyber sphere as they did in the previous season, but also five onsite ones that brought the heat up for every Lasallian's competitive animo. The ensuing adrenaline rush propelled each House's players in this speed test with two categories on the line: a 50-meter dash and a 100-meter one. Positioned at the USLS Track Field, the Men's and Women's Sprint divisions each have a single winner. Also, skilled swimmers from all four Houses demonstrated their prodigious talent by competing against one another at the USLS outdoor pool, showcasing their speed in various stroke categories.Overall, the results leaned towards the House of Paris with 405 points, winning in Swimming as champion, while the House of Rouen (175 points) topped the Tracks. Coming in second for Swimming was still the House of Rouen (380 points), while the fiery Phoenixes of the House of Rheims (160 points) came tumbling with the same rank in Tracks but gave the last hurrah in third for Swimming (320 points). Unfortunately, the soaring Griffins of the House of Parmenie (305 points) were withheld at last place in Swimming, yet gained an advantage by placing third in Tracks (150 points), much better than the House of Paris (135 points) coming in last. The ping pong balls echoed the room because the table tennis playoffs between the four houses went satisfactory with their kills and hits. However, of course, only one in each category brought their House the victors' title. Then we have the astonishing sound of smashes and flying shuttlecocks at Pohang Gym, where the Badminton match began. Lastly, located at the USLS Coliseum, Volleyball is the most awaited and the only team sport that was vouchsafed to be physically executed. Altogether, the results still favored the House of Paris (100 points) in Volleyball, while the Houses of Parmenie, Rheims, and Rouen gained second, third, and fourth places, respectively, with 70 points each in the roster. Still, in the first place, the House of Paris (100 points) reigned supreme in Badminton, while the agile Griffins of the House of Parmenie (80 points) came next. Also, both Houses of Rheims and Rouen got tied with 65 points each, placing fourth. On the other court, both Houses of Paris and Rouen got the same score of 85 points each in Badminton, while the Phoenixes of Rheims and the Griffins of Parmenie got 75 and 40 points accordingly, placing them third and fourth in the said event. Even with a troubling start in the new normal, only one won first place in the end— the mighty golden Chimeras of the House of Paris. Nevertheless, everyone has given their absolute best to return to action, rekindling the passion for sportsmanship with every sprint, volley, and serve made—embodying the spirit of a true Lasallian athlete in the end.

From kingslayers to kings themselves, RSG Philippines claimed the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Southeast Asian Cup as they defeated Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi in the grand finals of MSC 2022 on June 19 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre. Dominating with a clean 4-0 win after a defensive "Aqua" Calderon, Jhonard "Demonkite" Caranto, Dylan "Light" Catipon, Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo, and Eman "Emann" Sangco denied all of RRQ's attempts in victory, dictating epic comebacks as the battles drew into the late game.

“Personally, it has not been my first time playing at [...] huge national tournaments such as this. However, my experience playing in this tournament has been the best and [most] memorable amongst them all,” shares STEM 11-J student and former NOFA captain, Isaiah Jacob Teruel. The event has only been held twice since 2019—and on both occasions, NOFA has secured a spot in the finals. During the 2019–2020 championship, NOFA also faced NCRFA but suffered a heartbreaking loss. “[...] we lost against them with the score 1–0. Hence, winning this tournament is [a historic event] for the association,” Teruel added. Marco Gabriel Ditching of STEM 11-B also stated that playing such high-level football at the event has been a great learning experience and has helped him grow more mature as an athlete. With all of the blood, sweat, and tears poured by the team in every training session and game, Ditching expressed how proud he is of his team for winning the championships. “I realized that despite all the struggles that we went through, our sacrifices really paid off in the end.” Perhaps, there's more to failures than meets the eye. Sometimes, it is meant to steer one in circles before one finally reaches success. It inspires individuals to consider what they should do next and helps them stand back up stronger to combat the next hurdle. Wounds are experiences, and these are the scars that make a champion. After going back onto the field while wearing these marks for everyone to see, NOFA has proved themselves to be deserving kings.

Proficient athletes coming from the Southeast Asian region strived and fought for gold medals to bring honor towards their nations in the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in the capital city of Hanoi, Vietnam on May 12–23. A total of 11 nations consisting of Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Timor-Leste came prepared and stood in confidence, vying to be the greatest among the others. This year’s edition of the SEA Games highlighted 40 types of sports across 526 events with around 10,000 partaking athletes, Olympic gold medalists, and world champions bound to raise the bar higher as they continue to strive for exceptional titles and records.

The Philippines’ first gold medal was earned by Mary Francine Padios, an Aklan native who bagged a remarkable victory in the martial arts event, followed by Jack Escarpe who won the country’s second gold in Kurash Men’s 73 kg event.Additionally, Kim Mangrobang became the first Filipino athlete in the games to win multiple medals after she excelled in the women’s individual triathlon and duathlon events with Chloe Isleta, the Philippines’ lone gold medalist in swimming, following Mangrobang after bagging the gold in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Women’s League of Legends: Wild Rift. Moreover, Carlos Yulo collected five gold medals and a silver medal in the

Since the founding of Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) in 2015, they only had one goal in mind—to bring home the bacon. Despite their prior failures and setbacks, they still carried a burning torch in their hearts. Their defeats fanned the flame to burn brighter as they labored more to secure the long-desired national championship. Finally, on the 4th of June, the team earned their first national title as champions of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Under-19 Boys – First Division winning over National Capital Region Football Association (NCRFA) in Carmona, Cavite. Some of the athletes who attend the University of St. La Salle (USLS) describe the feeling as "surreal," achieving victory and becoming the current trophy holders of this national event.

SEA Games Organizing Committee (SEAGOC) made every effort to ensure that the games can still proceed safely with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) safety precaution, as athletes and coaches were still required to wear masks except during games and the awarding of medals while a rapid test must be taken by all delegates and officials 24 hours before competitions. As the games concluded after the SEA Games torch was extinguished, Vietnam transitioned the flag to Cambodia, which will be the upcoming host country of the event’s 32nd edition.

RSG PH triumphs over Indonesia in MSC 2022

Although RRQ was mostly on the offensive side, RSG clinched the first match minute mark, finally destroying the enemy base after three successful lord takes. In the second match, RRQ showcased a similar performance with the game prior, leading before losing momentum due to Light's three-man "Noumenon Blast" stun stealing the game. From there on, RSG's victories affected RRQ's plays, finally earning the title after two more wins on games 3 and 4 with scores of 21-21 and 12-2. "I think the difference is the fighting spirit that Filipinos have. The more they are pressured, the more they perform well," Catipon said in an interview after the games, answering the question on how the Philippines dominated MLBB. With that great fighting spirit, RSG PH had blazed through the matches against Falcon Esports and Orange Esports, until RRQ Hoshi defeated them in the Upper Bracket Final and pushed them to play against Smart Omega in the Lower Bracket Final, but even when they were pushed down, RSG PH rose back up and became champions.
