(11 of 15)

The workload for this class kept me busy. It was not overly hard but I always had something to do. Whether it was a blog or reading assignment, we were expected to keep up in the class.

- the work load was quite hefty but it was useful and needed for the course. - This course was more work and took more time than my 300-level nursing courses that I took concurrently. - A little much at times, but overall it was appropriate. - There was a lot more work for this class then for some of my other classes of equal credit. -

The workload for this course was pretty reasonable. On the weeks that we had larger assignments due, the regular weekly assignments were adjusted accordingly.

-

As with any other online course, there was a lot of writing required in journals, blogs, two concert reviews, and a final paper. Dr. Salvador made the work fun.

- The workload was reasonable for it being an online class and we did not have to go to class. - There wasn't too big of a workload in this class. It was generally the same every week, which I liked the consistency. - Acceptable - Not too much - The workload of this class was just right and each assignment was well defined and interesting.

Q8 - What are the strengths of the course? Response Rate: 53.33%

(8 of 15)

- The strengths fo the course has how much information was available to help us. We had the assigned book which came with online subscription so we could listen to the music and have extra material to learn from. - The text book was the biggest strength in my opinion - Professor was very involved. - The course is very thorough and well rounded. -

It covers many eras, the book was easy to read and understand, the listening guides were great, the tests corresponded to the book material, and instructor was awesome and very interactive with the group.

- The strengths were the book because it taught a lot of important info about music. - Being able to look ahead at your assignments and getting them done early if you wished. - Diversity in the writing assignments kept things interesting. Blogs & journals helped with learning the material

Q9 - What did you like best about the course? Response Rate: 60.00% -

(9 of 15)

What I liked best about this class was how we were able to write about what we were most interested and our views about in music and then be able to read about everyone else's views.

- I learned a lot and the instructor taught very well. - Professor was very involved. -

I enjoyed the written assignments. The subject matter was fun and they made me think. The concert assignments were a good experience. It is a very good class overall. I would recommend it.

- Learning about different types of music, the mechanics, and terminology. - The paper assignments we had to do. It was fun researching music. - being able to listen to music as my homework! I thought the writing assignments well thought out and were very helpful in learning the material (I didn't know what a mash-up was - until I had to write a paper on one, I liked the assignment on program music, the concert reviews were fun, etc.) I learned something new with each assignment. -

My favorite section of this course were the written assignments that were assigned to us as they made me step out of my comfort zone by going to concerts and by forcing me to analyze music.

Q10 - What suggestions would you make for the improvement of the course? Response Rate: 40.00%

(6 of 15)

- At this point none I would have liked the blogs to be due on the weekends. I tended to write my blog and comment on others' in the same session - anyway. I didn't have enough time in my week to listen to the mymusiclab to do the journals. The electronic version of the textbook is a bear to use. - None. Keep up the great work, Dr. Salvador! - No suggestions. - Add more modern day music to the text books. The listening guides were helpful. Maybe you can post an occasional listening guide of your own to help students identify musical elements in a song. Maybe you can get the whole class to attend a performance on campus. Then everyone could blog about the performance using musical terminology and you can comment as well on elements the class might miss.
