Responses: [SA] Strongly Agree=5 [A] Agree=4 [U] Undecided=3 [D] Disagree=2 [SD] Strongly Disagree=1 Pct Rnk: Percentile Rank (100 is best, calculated vs. precise Mean) Q14 - Comment on the workload for this class. Response Rate: 80.00%

(4 of 5)

-

The workload was medium. It had a good balance. Big assignments had a longer time to prepare and smaller assignments were given throughout the course.

-

It is a fair amount but it makes sense. Blogs, journals, in-class participation, and a final. It is fairly easy to get a good grade in this class if you stay on top of assignments and don't slack off.

- N/a The workload for this class was very appropriate. The assignments and in-class activities were very helpful in - gaining an understanding of the material presented in lecture and texts. Assignments/projects that were assigned, required the students to synthesize the material. Q15 - What did you like best about the course? Response Rate: 100.00%

(5 of 5)

I liked how interactive we were with the teacher and our practicum part of lecture. I think that actually interacting in - the type of setting she was teaching us about let us get a first hand look at the inner complex things she explained. There were constant great examples of the material from lecture in practicum. -

Practicum with the kids! Seeing twice a week for about a month was the best! It's just a fun class in general because it's a perfect combination of kids and music!

- n/a What I liked best about the course was the practicum as it gave the students a chance to personally see and experience the information learned in class and in the course texts. I also appreciated the fact that the class size was small and gave ample opportunity for student interaction and instructor feedback; it was very conducive for learning. - I really liked being able to work with the kids in the field.

Q16 - What suggestions would you make for the improvement of the course?

Response Rate: 100.00%

(5 of 5)

- I don't really have anything bad I could say about Salvador I think she is a great well-rounded instructor. Advertise it more! Having a small class was fun but I feel like it doesn't get the attention it needs and I would hate - for it to disappear because no one is taking it. It really is one of the best classes I have taken at the university and I have been here for awhile now. - n/a Karen is such a mastermind at organizing and communicating material, it would be difficult to find ways to improve the course. Karen is a "living text" of what an educator should look like; we could [and did] learn a lot just watching - her. Karen probably wants us to do our own thinking, but a personal preference of mine would be to have all the material from both texts synthesized in a review lecture power point for the exam, which is pretty exhaustive and cumulative. -

For the final exam, if you do a take home, be sure to let everyone know that all quotes must be properly cited and that any question that only has a quote from someone else will not be accepted.
