(1 of 3)

Very decent and manageable amount of workload for the class. I honestly did not read the books much at all. Near the beginning of the semester when workload was smaller (for all classes) I did, however that was the first thing to go when the work started to pile on. I will keep them on my self at home, and pull them out this summer! The assignments given were VERY helpful and useful for when we will be in our own schools. The Handbook is a wonderful Idea. I have in writing how my class will be run. All the way from hall passes to grading. Some of that might have to change according to school policies, however most of it I will use when I get into my own school teaching. Q15 - What did you like best about the course? Response Rate: 66.67%

(2 of 3)

I love this class. It is so helpful for students becoming teachers and since Dr. Salvador is teaching it truly gets you prepared - for when we finally have that moment of being a teacher for the first time. Dr. Salvador is so knowledgable and is willing to help so much that it makes this class so exciting to learn the material. I loved how the course was focused around thinking outside the box of the standard and typical performing ensembles. Culture and art is ever-changing, and so is music! Finding ways to attract/teach/specialize instruction for newer kids is a great way to get them into music, and experience it with a much higher appreciation. I REALLY liked the technology ideas show to us through the Youtube video, however, I wish we could have done more with that. I loved the "Rehearsal popcorn" activities as well- These are very important, and useful for students who are new to conducting, new to reading full scores, new to being in front of an ensemble, and new to leading a rehearsal. There is so much "NEW" going on that often times we forget to sit back and listen and critique the music, and figure out a plan on how to rehearse the music. Maybe START the semester with this activity next time? Q16 - What suggestions would you make for the improvement of the course? Response Rate: 33.33%

I wouldn't change anything. All of the information she has taught us truly will help when we are teaching that first day of school.
