"What's He Building?" a tribute to tom waits It's difficult to write a proper introduction to any piece about Tom Waits. If you're a fan, you'll already know everything, haven't heard of him? You're about to embark on a journey. Tom has a voice described as 'soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car', but as a songwriter and lyricist, few can get close. Waits' lyrics frequently present atmospheric portraits of grotesque, often seedy characters and places-although he has also shown a penchant for more conventional ballads. He has a cult following and has influenced subsequent songwriters despite having little radio or music video support. His songs are known through cover versions by more commercial artists: "Jersey Girl", performed by Bruce Springsteen, "Ol' '55", by the Eagles, and "Downtown Train", by Rod Stewart. So join, Canice Kenealy, Shane Joyce, Kairen Waloch, Richie Healy, Paddy Flanagan, Bob and Jan, Peter Flynn, Tony Cleere, Greg Good, Martin Bridgeman, Conan Doyle and a few more for an evening of Tom Waits.

After 2 sell-out shows during Arts Weeks, Niamh Moroney will be performing her one woman comedy play Yer Wan. Who's Yer Wan? Well whadda you care? She's just a girl who loves life, havin' the craic, and especially going out on a Friday. She's out for the night and nothing will stop her, even messing up her make up routine. She'll enlighten you with a bird's eye view into the mind of strong women. And as rude and vulgar as she is, she'll share all her tips with you. Come creep on Yer Wan, she doesn't care, come to think of it, she'd love to see you there. The play was the winner of Best Solo Performance at Galway Fringe Festival 2014. Mon 26th

Blues Ark Probably the only band still in existence that played the first Rockfall, the Blues Ark are a rocking blues band from Kilkenny, who have paid their dues gigging for over 30 years, whether it was playing support to Paul Brady or the Golden horde many moons ago, or still rocking it out in their spiritual home, Ryan's, Kilkenny, they enjoy it all. This year they return to the place where it all started, The Pumphouse, for what promises to be a scorcher of a night of rhythm & blues. The Blues Ark are: John "Johnnie B" Bourke on vocals. On bass & backing vocals Dermot "the Knox" Noonan. On lead guitar & vocals Billy "the Maestro" Barron, also on guitar the sublimely talented James Barron and with Pious Meagher on drums you know you're in for some seriously hot R n B. JIMMY "THE HAWK" LONG R.I.P Our condolences to Jimmy's wife Carmel and family on his untimely passing on September 8th last. Jimmy along with his son Davey had been a great supporter of Rockfall Festival over the years. Jimmy loved to play at the Bank Holiday Monday gig in Kytelers inn with The Quare Hawks where he was joined in the band by his son Davey along with two other father and son combos, Sonny and Dermot Cullen and Pakie and Sean O'Dwyer. He also played during the Festival for many years with his great friends Sonny Cullen and the late Seamus Phelan in The Rockies. Jimmy was of course a great family man and our sincere symphaties go to his wife Carmel, daughters Maria and Nicola, and sons Adrian and Davey. The Bank Holiday Monday gig in Kytelers Inn will be dedicated to Jimmy Longs memory. A celebration of his life.
