Principal’s Award | For Daughters of Old Girls Description
Girls in Year 6, Year 7 or Year 9 in 2017 at any school other than Queenwood are invited to apply for a Principal’s Award. Applicants must be a daughter or a granddaughter of a Queenwood Old Girl. The Award will be granted to girls who would benefit from the variety of programs available at the School; applicants must sit the Academic examination and should also excel in other areas as well like music, sport, drama, art, social justice, languages. Continuation of an Award each year will be subject to an annual review of the candidate's progress and the financial circumstances of her parents. An Award covers full or part remission of tuition fees at Queenwood each year. As an Award is means-tested, parents of short-listed candidates will be asked to present their financial circumstances, signed by a registered chartered accountant or CPA. This information will be kept strictly confidential and will dictate the proportion of fees granted eg. 10, 25, 50 or 75. It does not cover the cost of books, uniforms, excursions or additional individual subject fees etc. Recipients of a Principal’s Award receive additional benefits including mentoring from esteemed Old Girls, regular attendance at the Balmoral Lecture Series, and involvement in the Catalyst Programme for gifted and talented students and participation in events as offered by the Principal. All Awards are given at the Principal’s discretion. The School reserves the right in its absolute discretion not to award a scholarship in any particular year or any particular award.
