RISK AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER Role Description The Risk and Compliance Officer will work strategically on a whole school approach to risk management and compliance. In particular, s/he will be responsible for the maintenance and ongoing implementation the School’s governance, risk and compliance program, the administration of assurance tasks and incident management. Reporting Relationships The Risk and Compliance Officer reports directly to the Deputy Principal and ultimately to the Principal. S/he will also work closely with the Head of Junior School. The Compliance Officer will liaise with external agencies and staff across the school. Hours of Work This is a 0.5-0.6FTE part-time position with hours and days of work negotiable with the right candidate. It is likely that the position will require greater time commitment initially to allow for roll-out of certain features of the School’s risk management system. Remuneration The salary will depend on the level of experience and skills but will be according to the MEA (Multi-Enterprise Agreement) for Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) for Clerical and Administrative Staff Level 3 and between $65,851 and 68,374 pro-rata). Role Responsibilities  Facilitate the promotion of a robust risk management and compliance culture at Queenwood, with a focus on working together with and training senior staff. 

Work with the Executive staff to co-ordinate the development, implementation, operation and regular updating of the School’s policies and procedures relating to WHS, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Oversee necessary changes and update, ensuring that all changes to standard practice are referred to the Deputy Principal prior to implementation

Assist in the education and training of new and existing staff in WHS and risk management issues, including systems to ensure staff are regularly trained in relevant policies and training registers are kept up to date.

Maintain appropriate registers of hazards and incidents and provide regular reports as required.

Where appropriate, liaise with advisors and regulatory authorities on issues relating to WHS and risk management.

Assist staff with the completion and maintenance of risk assessments, registers and management plans and monitor their consistency, completeness and integrity.

Oversee development of a Business Continuity plan.

Attend WHS meetings and work closely with the Chair of the WHS committee.

Perform such other duties as required by the Principal from time to time.
